Albany, NY

Albany is the capital city of the U.S. state of New York, the seat of Albany County, and the central city of New York’s Capital District. Roughly 135 miles (217 km) north of the City of New York, Albany sits on the west bank of the Hudson River, about 10 miles (16 km) south of its confluence with the Mohawk River. The population of the city was 97,856 at the time of the 2010 census.

Madison Avenue at South Pearl 1978

I couldn't figure out where this picture was originally but it's the location of the abandoned McDonald's Fat Frier in the South End in the two decade period when this land sat vacant after Rocky's wrecking block tore down much of the South End.

I think this was near the pig farm at Crossgates, leveling off part of Butterfly Hill or maybe it was the SEFCU site which is now the Discovery Center. From John Wolcott's collection in 1978.
