Phone is back working again πŸ˜€

Riding that mile on Central Avenue from ADK Off-Road to the Bus Plus stop was a bit dicey with all the cars wizzing by – at times I just ended up riding on the sidewalks as that felt safer, but once I got to the Bus Plus Station it was but a minute before the bus arrived. Cost me a full $2 rather then $1.35 as I paid cash, because without my phone app or working bus card, I have to pay cash. Got rid of four quarters I had kicking around, so that’s good. The additional 65 cents is annoying, but whatever, I’m spending like $630 bucks when you include tax on the bedliner today. It will be a great set up once the cap arrives. The Bus Plus was remarkably fast, a bit crowded but with limited stops it’s almost as fast as driving. I sweat stupid little shit like that as it’s stealing from my future – and then go out and buy a SuperDuty – though as I note not a real fancy one but a tough off-road truck. It’s extreme mental illness, but we are a bunch of sick puppies when everybody says go out and buy a plastic house and wash out and recycle, don’t burn your plastic bottles.

Rode my bike from Broadway into the office. It’s a beautiful day, as I bite my nails. Called StraightTalk and they looked at their system, fixed something, and I rebooted my phone and it’s working. Was not happy to be unreachable by phone when my new truck is in the shop being sprayed. Or being able to be contacted employees or staff. I am worried enough about the bedliner job being quality, but they assured me they don’t spray over the bolts (pull them), and the reviews are good of both the shop and material. I am not going to really aggressively abuse the bedliner when I’m using it for camping, and if in the out years it gets used more around the homestead for farm shit, then who cares at that point.

But all is good, at 3:30 PM I’m heading to pick up the truck, then I want to go for a ride in Albany Pine Bush on my mountain bike, and then go to Guilderland Cemetery to look at the Pine Bush and potential development from the dune there. I might also swing by Wally World on Wash Ave Extension to get a trim puller, so I can remove the trim to get to the upfitter pass through wires in the cab of my truck, though with rain coming Saturday, doubt that will be the day to do it. And still haven’t ordered the PA Speaker or the antenna mount though I’ve discovered where I can run antenna wire. Tomorrow seems more like a stay home and read, and study up on wiring kind of day. Maybe if anything I do this weekend it’s open and pull out the Upfitter Box to explore.

Rochester 1940

A much smaller city back then. Notice the Rochester Subway on the map - existed between the mid-1920s and 1956, a light rail system in the bed of the Erie Canal. Part of it became Interstate 490 through Rochester.
