Hays Brook Horse Trails

North of Mountain Pond in Paul Smiths is an old routing of NY 30 and several old fire protection roads that are used today for hiking, horseback riding, and accessing backcountry hunting locations. Known as the Hays Brook Horse Trails, there is a small parking area along Mountain Pond Road (Old Route 30), along with a falling apart wooden sign indicating the trail head.

Alma Pond

Alma Pond is a 36-acre reservior east of Bolivar just north of the Pennsylvania border on the Honeoye Creek. Public access is provided from the north shore on Four Mile Road. There is a hand launch for small boats such as canoes and kayaks. Largemouth bass, black crappie, bluegill, pumpkin seed, yellow perch, carp, brown bulhead and nothern pike can be found in this lake. The eastern half of lake is UTM 17, the western side UTM 18 so be careful with a GPS.

Chase And Holmes Lake Trails

Chase Lake Trail is a 5.3 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Gloversville, New York that features a lake and is rated as moderate.

Holmes Lake is a 4.2 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Bleecker.
