Open Water

In a creek along the Redbelly Snowmobile Trail. Most of the creek was iced over, but this one location has enough movement in the water to keep it from ever freezing over.

From Farm to Trash

A picture of a styrofoam egg carton that blew away from the barn. We reuse old egg cartons at our farm for the sale of eggs, as new egg cartons are expensive, and a waste of resources to keep sending them to the landfill.

Arrests for Violent Felonies in NYS, 1970-2021

There are significantly fewer violent felonies in New York then in the 1990s and early 2000s, similar to other states, but also a slight uptick after the decline during the pandemic year of 2020.

Alma Pond

Alma Pond is a 36-acre reservior east of Bolivar just north of the Pennsylvania border on the Honeoye Creek. Public access is provided from the north shore on Four Mile Road. There is a hand launch for small boats such as canoes and kayaks. Largemouth bass, black crappie, bluegill, pumpkin seed, yellow perch, carp, brown bulhead and nothern pike can be found in this lake. The eastern half of lake is UTM 17, the western side UTM 18 so be careful with a GPS.
