Golden showers on the Gilded Age of America ๐Ÿฅ‡

Or so the Trumpster tells us in his speech last night. I don’t know, I was asleep before the verbal masturbation, I just saw the news reports when I was up bright and early this morning to cook down those cranberry beans. I bet the sewage sludge incinerator next door to the office will be pungent with the rain as they send the PFOAs in the dried up shit and toilet paper up in smoke.

Rain has mostly stopped for the morning commute but I’m busing ๐ŸšŒ it as I going to be heavy rain by afternoon ๐ŸŒง๏ธ and I’m not going to bike ๐Ÿšณ back downtown in the pouring rain at the end of the day. Plus there is still some slop left on the Rail Trail though I’m hoping the temperatures in fifties and rain will help out with that. That said, I’m hoping the snow will last in the hills as I’m considering the possibility of an overnight this weekend ๐Ÿ”ฅ but I’d rather have ice pack rather than mud to camp on. ๐Ÿฝ

This morning I cooked down a big pot of beans, ๐Ÿฒ cranberry beans to a good mush. I like my beans soft, they are easier on the stomach and I like to fry them up with food and use them for toppings. Started boiling them down at 4:30 AM, went back to bed ๐Ÿ›Œ then made cornmeal pancakes ๐Ÿฅž come 5:45 AM and then got ready and went out and caught to 7:45 AM express downtown. Those beans are so good, especially mashed up as a topping or just with a bit of salt and maybe some maple syrup. Protein rich too. I should get a bottle of real maple syrup ๐Ÿ once the fresh stuff comes available, rather then the sugar-free crap usually use. Especially if it’s not packaged in glass. I was in bed before 7:30 PM last night, slept pretty good, but let’s be honest I’m almost on a dairyman’s schedule with my sleep. ๐Ÿฎ So, yeah moo with the teat strippers.

The older ๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿป I get the less I care about what the politicians say. ๐ŸŽค Truth is that there is little I can do to change what the power brokers decide is in their political interests. It’s not that I’m not aware of who they are and any way I can exploit them for my benefit but truthfully I’m not sure if there is much of a practical difference. Change and new ideas ๐Ÿ’ก are always a good thing and I don’t mind some good buys in stock market at this point in my life. I figure if I buy now, the recession should over in 12 or 13 years I’m 55 and want to buy that land out in the mountains. ๐Ÿ” You know that off-grid cabin, with goats and hogs and a burning barrel out back ventilated by my AR-15 and liberal tears. Honest, I’m not a fan of buffoon in the White House – I just like guns and fire.

I’m ready for winter to be done ๐ŸŒธ though I think much of the snow and ice will perish with the rain โ˜” today. It will make for much better rides. Plus Sunday and the time change ain’t far away. โ˜€๏ธ That means the mornings will be darker but lots more light in the evenings. Be able to head to the park in the evening and read ๐Ÿ“– or even head out to Voorheeesville after work. ๐Ÿ˜€

I was watching this video last night on rabbit ๐Ÿ‡ raising for meat, and I think that will be one of the first livestock I raise when I have my own land. ๐Ÿšœ Rabbit meat is super healthy and easy to raise but alas it doesn’t have much in the ways of fat so you can get in trouble if that’s your only source of fats in the diet. Still with a rabbit tractor and grazing the rabbit you can avoid a lot of plastics and eat far healthier than a lot of the crap these days. Everybody thinks I’m a vegetarian as I don’t eat a lot of meat but honestly I don’t like all that saturated fats.

I guess it’s back to walking ๐Ÿšถ the Empire Plaza Concourse before catching the local bus ๐Ÿš home. It’s fine, I’ll get my exercise in but not like riding both ways. Maybe tomorrow or Friday. It’s March and the time is changing and the days warmer. Then I’ll do some reading ๐Ÿ“– on the bus, and enjoy those wonderful beans ๐Ÿซ˜when I get home. Then probably lights out early and get up early tomorrow. I wonder how many crazy ๐Ÿ˜œ homeless people will yell at me for daring to walk after hours at the Emperor’s Plaza.
