Northville-Placid Trail
An interactive map of the Northville Placid Trail, featuring campsites, lean-tos and nearby trails. The Northville–Lake Placid Trail, also known as the NPT, is a lightly traveled foot trail that runs 138 miles through the Central Adirondack Park from Northville to Lake Placid. It was laid out by the Adirondack Mountain Club in 1922 and 1923 and is maintained by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. It is connected to Long Path to the south, which runs through the Mohawk Valley, Heldebergs, Schoharie Valley, Catskill Mountains, Shawgunks and ultimately to George Washington Bridge in New York - New Jersey.
Also available is a printable (Adobe PDF) version of the Northville Placid Trail Maps.

Weather Update – April 6, 2022
April showers β being the May flowers πΈ
You look at satellite photo archives and its pretty obvious that is the truth. After several days of clouds and rain things green up. I don’t see any freezing weather coming up but it might be cool enough some days with the dampness that closing windows may be warranted but heating season is done. At least for me. Might though being the Big Buddy heater camping for rainy days and cold mornings through early June.

Daily Update – April 6, 2022
Good morning! What day is it? A Hump Day without a state budget, of course. π«
I actually woke up this morning for a bit around 2 am to check the Twitter. No budget but conventional wisdom of the people who still tweet is that they want it fine before the big party known as the Black and Latino caucus this weekend. Me, I just want it done so I can get out of town next week and do some fishing π£ and have a big fire π₯ with some cold beer π».
Cloudy βοΈand 42 degrees in Delmar, NY. β There is a north-northeast breeze at 5 mph. π. The skies will clear Friday around 5 pm.
Not sure how much rain β we will get today, π§there is a few drops as I’m out walking this morning. Mild enough I’m just wearing the vest with the worn out Don’t Tread on Me t-shirt that isn’t appropriate for wearing around in a progressive town like Delmar. π I’ll bring my umbrella like any good ol boy in a shirt and would do.
Yesterday got home a bit before six, had spaghetti π, worked on some bug fixes for the blog πand went for a walk down to the town park π. Been trying to fix issues with interactive maps crashing – still have issues with bad characters or connections to Arcgis services causing things to crash. Been trying to develop additional blog posts and pages on topics get a lot of search hits.
I have yet to take off Thursday and Friday of next week βΊ but that’s what I’m leaning towards once I get more certainty for my work schedule. π I won’t be able to stay at he same campsite more than three nights but I like to travel to different places and I’ll probably need ice and supplies. Next Friday is Good Friday so that’s usually a holiday. π°
Last night on the walk saw a rabbit π red winged black birds and robins, geese, heard spring peepers πΈ and a deer grunting. Didn’t help that some random lady with a dog πΆ walked by.
