Caitlin Brodnick was not the most obvious target since she’s the host of a podcast called ScamWow. Which is why we were obviously impressed by the effort of her scammer and by her ability to see it for what it is and avoid getting got. Also discussed: Why you should never answer questions on social media.

I guess it just seems particularly cold after a mild December as January can often be quite cold. β That said you can’t underestimate the lack of breeze when it comes to staying warm. Plus at least at home that electric blanket really makes me bed π so nice and warm. Too warm except on the absolutely lowest setting so I’m not using that much electricity. But then again I winter camp βΊ often in an unheated truck cap or tent.
It is increasingly looking like Friday might be a notable snow π¨ event but it is still early out. I was kind of hoping to get out of town this weekend but that seems increasingly unlikely if there is a ton of snow but I could go skiing πΏ maybe if it’s not too cold on Saturday. The following weekend is three days with Martin Luther King π Day, so that might be a better fit weekend to head out of town if it’s not too cold and snowy.

Cold but with the sun out and no wind not too bad. Plus I kept walking
Sunny and 13 degrees at the Elm Ave Park and Ride. π Calm wind. There is a dusting of snow on the ground. β Things will start to thaw out at tomorrow around 9 am. π‘οΈ
Yesterday the early express bus never arrived. ππ» My hands were so cold and dried out waiting for the bus yesterday and I didn’t get my steps in yesterday π£ until I went for an evening walk. Today 8:25 am bus arrived at 7:55 am and the 7:55 am bus arrived at 8:05 am. πBut ten minutes late I guess is better than not showing up at all on Monday. π I did get my some of my steps in by walking πΆ around the parking π Ώ lot today and should still have 45 minutes to walk the Plaza or Concourse before work.
This winter I really don’t like doing my evening walk in the dark πΆas it tends to be quite cold and can be icy. Plus I’m already getting plenty of steps walking home in the dark from the Park and Ride. I’m still getting up most mornings by 5 am although truthfully I don’t rush out of bed most mornings. But most nights π I’m in bed by 8 pm and certainly not past nine 9β£. I sleep so much better with early to bed and early to rise. π΄
I see they have barriers up for the protests π§ tomorrow for the State of the State Adrress. So to keep the grass from looking like an exercise yard on a feedlot like happened in the La Nina year during the SAFE Act protests. Grass with a of foot or hoove traffic doesn’t hold up well especially in mild wet winter weather although this year is relatively cold compared to 2013. But protests and a little bit trashing of things is part of democracy.
I need to dust off my suit for tomorrow π¨π»ββοΈand I’ll probably take in the local as I don’t like walking in the suit to minimize wear on the dress clothes. Plus I’m sure there will be traffic jams through the Empire State Plaza π so the local will be a better choice. I’ll avoid the Plaza and the Capitol tomorrow like the plague unless of course I can snag a free piece of pizza π from somewhere. I mean who doesn’t like a free lunch, especially in these inflationary times when money seems to be gone five 5β£ minutes after getting paid ?
