Taken on Sunday August 15, 2010 at Point Au Roche.Global climate change is accelerating and human-caused emissions of greenhouse gases are the overwhelming cause, according to a landmark report released Monday by the United Nations. There is still time to avoid catastrophic warming this century, but only if countries around the world stop burning fossil fuels as quickly as possible, the authors warn.
The message to world leaders is more dire, and more unequivocal, than ever before.
"It is indisputable that human activities are causing climate change," says Ko Barrett, the vice chair of the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and the senior adviser for climate at the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. "Each of the last four decades has been the warmest on record since preindustrial times."

Today will feel like an ordinary hot mid summer day π but the heat machine cranks up through Friday and then more seasonable for the weekend.
My vacationette starts Thursday and I was debating about the Adirondacks versus other locations. βΊ I kind of wished I had gone to Schoharie Valley this past weekend but I figured I saved $40 or 50 bucks by staying close to home.

Going to be a hot one but at least for me it’s a three day weekend as I’m taking four days starting Thursday in the Adirondacks. ππ»ββοΈ
Partly cloudy and 65 degrees in Delmar, NY. β Calm wind. The dew point is 63 degrees. The skies will clear around 6 am.
Heading downtown early this morning π¨π»βπΌwith the suit and tie, looking forward to Thursday but glad that they have air conditioning in office π’ as it’s going to be a hot one after a previously cool summer. I was thinking we might end out the summer hot like back in 1953 but increasingly that seems unlikely.
Three days in the office today.
