Survived my dental cleaning

Survived my dental cleaning … 🦷

I had more plague then I expected on my teeth and the dental hygentist really scaped away from it, but I should be good until July now. I don’t really ever have candy or sweets at home, although I do probably eat more blueberries then I should, but that’s good for the health compared to candy bars and cookies.

I went to the store and got more frozen fruit and other groceries I was running low, and now I’m at the library downloading some updates and trying to get VirtualBox Running, so I have  the option of running Winders inside of Linux.

It’s a pretty cold and snow morning, so I’ll probably head home and just work from home for the rest of the day through Saturday — and just work from there using my phone and it’s hotspot. Roads are a bit icy this morning from the snow squall.

January 21, 2020 morning

Good morning! Happy Thursday. Dental cleaning day for me. 🦷 Gotta make sure to brush and clean my teeth well. Two months until the first day of spring. 🌷 But first we have some cool weather to deal with. 17 degrees and cloudy as I head out for my work. Maybe a little bit more sun later, but the sun is in the hiding until the weekend when it will be cold.

Not a real nice morning ❄ with the wind whipping around and a few shoe flurries but I’m still going for my walk because the morning walk 🚢🏻 helps preserve my sanity. But certainly a reminder that it is still winter. Mr. NOAA XML Feed decided so I’m on my own this morning. Once I get home, I’ll have to head down to the dentist office and then I might do a quick stop at the store and then either to the library or home to work. As it’s pretty cold and I have plenty of bandwidth to use up before Sunday I might as well work from home where it is warmer.

Today will be mainly cloudy with snow showers around this morning. 🌨 High near 35F. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 50%. Not going to be a real nice day.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy. ☁️ A few flurries or snow showers possible. Low 27F. Winds light and variable. Not as cold but the cold will return for the weekend. A little more then a half moon tonight, although not sure how much you will see of the moon due to clouds although it cleared out nicely last night for the walk, but it was cold.

Yesterday I got my $600 Economic Impact Payment from President Donald John Trump. πŸ’΅ While he’s no longer my president according to the Google, I’m willing to bet that the check is still live and worthwhile to deposit. I am chagrin about all my conservative friends posting he’s not my president, the same thing all my liberal friends posted exactly four years ago. I think I’ll just put check in my savings account as with the markets at record high, not a good time to being buying stock.

I got the work VPN set up on the laptop. πŸ–₯ That’s a good thing because it means fewer trips downtown on the bus 🚍 for stupid reasons like I need a file πŸ“‚ off the server or an internal website. Now for most things, even if requires physically signed paper work πŸ“„ I can just drop it off at the post office. Rebooting into Winders is kind of a pain but it’s a lot faster than catching a bus downtown. 🏒 Plus I think the virus is getting worse πŸ‘Ύwith the new strains and despite the vaccination roll outs I am expecting more serious shutdowns come late winter.

This weekend will be sunny but cold. β˜€οΈ 24 degrees for the high on Saturday only 21 on Sunday with a stiff breeze. Not totally sure what my weekend plans should be, maybe skiing 🎿 at Schodack Island State Park if there is enough snow and grocery shop πŸͺ at Aldi’s.

On the First Day of Spring, the sun will be setting around 7:08 PM with dusk around 7:31 pm. The average high temperature is around 46 degrees for that time of year. We might have a blizzard or maybe a lot of mud. Unlike down south, we don’t really get spring until May in the wilds of Upstate NY.
