The real problem with added colors βš—οΈ

There is a campaign to ban certain added colors to foods made out of petroleum, even though they’ve been previously deemed safe in the quantities regularly consumed. But the problem with added colors is not unlike other additives – it’s not the chemical per se but how it masks inferior underlying ingredients.

As Malvina Reynolds once sung about processed food, it’s β€œRefined till its tasteless, And taste added in.” And that exactly is the problem. When you break an egg, you can’t exactly unscramble it. You loose a lot in the refining process. People need to learn to eat basic simple foods, not the things that come with a bright shinny label.
