So much many things for government officials to personally enrich themselves on during the pandemic. Whether your a beat cop or a chief executive, so many great opportunities for bribes and kick backs from multi national corporations and local yokel corner shops. If you buy my masks or let my business open maybe I can help you out…

May 11, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Monday’s come back around again.πŸ‘”Another week of working from home 🏑 but at least it’s a pay week.πŸ’°Mostly cloudy and 42 degrees in Delmar, NY. ☁ There is a south breeze at 5 mph. πŸƒ. The skies will clear tomorrow around noontime.

Not a real nice morning but I’ll get up and shower and get ready for work. I’d like to get to the library to download more data and upload more maps and photos to the blog. πŸ“š I heard that soon the library may be opening for library book curbside pick up so I can get some more books to read. That would be cool especially with summer underway. 😎

I went for a walk 🚢 around the superblock past the high school 🚸 and got some fresh air before work today. I was surprised how many people I saw out and about. Not a real nice day but I think people want to get out before the rain starts β˜” and truth be told not a real nice weekend.

Today will have showers likely, with thunderstorms also possible after 1pm. Some of the storms could produce small hail and gusty winds. Mostly cloudy 🌦, with a high of 55 degrees at 1pm. 13 degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around April 9th. South wind 5 to 7 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Kind of a cool and dreary day. 😯 Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Not a real soaker. A year ago, we had cloudy skies in the morning with more sun in the afternoon. The high last year was 65 degrees. The record high of 90 was set in 1911. 0.5 inches of snow fell back in 1907.❄

Solar noon 🌞 is at 12:53 pm with sun having an altitude of 65.4Β° from the due south horizon (-5.4Β° vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 2.7 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour πŸ… starts at 7:27 pm with the sun in the west-northwest (289Β°). πŸ“Έ The sunset is in the west-northwest (296Β°) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 8:07 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 12 seconds with dusk around 8:38 pm, which is one minute and 4 seconds later than yesterday. πŸŒ‡ The best time to look at the stars is after 9:19 pm. At sunset, look for rain showers 🌧 and temperatures around 48 degrees. There will be a west-northwest breeze at 14 mph. Today will have 14 hours and 30 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 11 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have a chance of showers, mainly before 9pm. Mostly cloudy 🌧, with a low of 37 degrees at 5am. Nine degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around April 15th. Northwest wind 10 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. In 2019, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became light rain by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 43 degrees. The record low of 29 occurred back in 1969.

My bottle 🍢 of perthemerian is supposed to arrive mid week and I will pick up a couple of spray bottles probably from Walmart. I think that’s the fastest, safest and most economical way to apply it to my clothes. I’ll probably spray only a few pair of jeans πŸ‘– and shirts πŸ‘š at first to ensure it doesn’t stain clothes or It shouldn’t but you never know. I only have one week left of doxycycline and I don’t want to get Lyme again this summer.🐜 Even if I do go down to the park I’ll probably sit in a bench rather than on the grass. 🌾

A fairly decent weekend with seasonal weather. Saturday, partly sunny, with a high near 73. Maximum dew point of 52 at 6am. β˜€ Sunday, a chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 70. ☁ Chance of precipitation is 50%. Maximum dew point of 53 at 1pm. Typical average high for the weekend is 70 degrees.

I’d like to get out of town this weekend β›Ί but I think it might be kind of gray and rainy like this past weekend. Not sure it’s something to watch. Next week through Memorial Day Weekend looks fairly mild. Not seeing a lot of 80s but I could see things getting that warm as we head into June. I wonder how hot it will be Memorial Day Weekend? 🏊 I am still thinking that following week to camp but if that’s the week my ordinary office 🏒 downtown reopens that might not be a possibility to take a long weekend.
