Most remote rural towns don't get many outside visitors, but the people who live in them drive to larger cities all the time. They go for everything from medical treatment, to work, to a night on the town. And Pekosz says that unless containment efforts succeed beyond his expectations, those people are going to be increasingly likely to be exposed to the coronavirus on those trips.

Good morning! Happy 7 PM Sunset π! With the clouds it might be dark early. But I don’t know. Might clear out before sunset. I didn’t leave my porch light on. It will be nice with spring around the corner, along with nicer weather.Rain showers and 46 degrees at the Elm Ave Park & Ride – CDTA. π¦ There is a south-southeast breeze at 15 mph. π. But at least outside of the Adirondacks, the snow is done it seems. Wait for me to be wrong with a late March or early April blizzard. Weather patterns can and do change.

Today in 1991, the Justice Department announces that Exxon has agreed to pay $1 billion for the clean-up of the Exxon Valdez oil spill in Alaska. β½ Some argue that wasn’t a big enough fine but at least it was another 20 odd years until the Deep Water Horizon.

Still undecided about my weekend plans. π€ I do like the idea of going out to Madison County βΊ but I know things will be real muddy and there will be still some snow and ice around. But it might be fun. The next few weekends with the Pine Bush Hike and my niece’s birthday party means I’ll be busy, and now I don’t have the Pine Bush lit drop on Saturday, I have more time to decide. Not sure what I would do there besides camp, maybe explore some of the state forests out that way. I’ll have to think about it more.
