The Case for the Humble Garbage Disposal

The Atlantic: The Case for the Humble Garbage Disposal

This is an interesting article, but I do have a lot of concerns with mixing food waste with the often contaminated waste-water systems. Waste water, municipal sewage contains everything from motor oil, pharmaceuticals, PFOAs from dish washing and landfills, landfill leachate, wash waters from industrial processes. It's problematic to be spreading it composted on the fields, even if poop and food waste are good fertilizer. I'd rather see more development up SSOW -- source separated organic waste, rather then mining the waste from mixed sourced sewage sludge.

I usually avoid driving NY 206 and NY 79 to Ithaca, because the road is full of tailgaters and idiots who don't know how to drive. Notice the speed in the video -- I'm hardly a slow poke on a twisty, steep road with a 55 MPH speed limit. Drivers in the greater Ithaca area always seem to be in a rush to get to the latest traffic jam downtown.

November 13, 2019 Afternoon

A bitterly cold afternoon. Sunny and a bitterly cold 24 degrees in Delmar, NY. 🌞 There is a northwest breeze at 14 mph. πŸƒ. The current wind chill is 12. There is a dusting of snow on the ground. β˜ƒ ️Things will start to thaw out at tomorrow around 11 am. 🌑️

Got my truck scheduled for service next week. I decided to do an oil change, tire rotation when I get the state inspection. πŸ”§ I don’t really absolutely need an oil change yet, but this way I won’t have to do it mid-winter when it’s cold and nasty, and the tires are wearing down, and a rotation will prolong them. This way easier then making two trips in for service. I checked all the lights and they’re working good.

I turned off the Twitter feed from my blog, πŸ–₯ as it was acting up and causing the blog to be slow and crash a lot. I don’t want shit from my web host, and I’m kind of tired of social media. So many nasty comments, and things keep getting presented in ways that I dislike.
