The most hacked band password is ‘Blink-182’

The world is awash in '90s nostalgia — and it's even showing up in our passwords.

A new study from the UK's National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) has revealed the world's most easily hacked passwords, CNN reports. The top no-brainer passwords overall are impersonal number combinations, like 12345. But in the category of "bands," the most breached password is the name of the popular '90s pop-punk outfit, Blink-182.

November 12, 2019 Morning

Good morning! Happy Tuesday. Four weeks to 7:15 AM Sunrise βŒ›οΈ. Snow showers and 30 degrees in Delmar, NY. ❄ There is a west-northwest breeze at 5 mph. πŸƒ with gusts up to 21 mph, especially in the city. πŸ’¨πŸ’¨πŸ’¨. There is a dusting of snow on the ground. β˜ƒ We have a cold period ahead with temperatures dropping throughout the day. Things will start to thaw out at Thursday around 10 am. 🌑️

I thought about taking the local in 🚍 but with my new job, the express is more convenient and it’s a much easier commute. But if the bus is late the express doesn’t offer any alternatives besides turning around and walking 🚢 another mile to the local. But the express was close to on time ⌚ although a minute late stuck behind a sander truck 🚚. Sidewalks locally weren’t icy, maybe the driveway had a skim of icy but neither was slick. I hate walking to work on icy sidewalks. Ramp to the plaza is a bit icy but I’m not driving. Maybe things will freeze up later on, I’ll have to be careful when I go out for my lunch time walk.

Today will have snow showers ❄, mainly before noon. Cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing 🌨, with a high of 31 degrees at 8am. Temperatures will be dropping into the upper twenties as the day progresses. 18 degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical early January day. Northwest wind 11 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than one inch possible. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning, remaining cloudy in the afternoon. The high last year was 47 degrees. The record high of 68 was set in 1909. 7.3 inches of snow fell back in 1968.❄

So winter is back and it’s cold ❄. But what do I know in my windowless office when I get there. Going to warm up on Friday and that should melt the snow off my truck by Sunday. With the cold, the solar will be good at make sure the batteries remain topped off and ready to go. I should call DeNooyer today about getting the state inspection done. πŸš— I am still debating about getting the oil changed and tires rotated. I probably should do it to even out the wear out on the tires, and while it’s a bit premature to do the oil change, if it’s done, I won’t have to do it again until May or June, based on the miles I drive int he winter.

The sun will set at 4:36 pm with dusk around 5:06 pm, which is one minute and one second earlier than yesterday. πŸŒ‡ At sunset, look for mostly clear skies πŸŒ„ and temperatures around 28 degrees. The wind chill around sunset will be 15. β˜ƒοΈ Breezy, 17 mph breeze β›… from the west-northwest with gusts up to 32mph. Today will have 9 hours and 53 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 16 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have isolated snow showers between 9pm and midnight. Mostly clear πŸŒƒ, with a low of 12 degrees at 6am. 20 degrees below normal. Maximum wind chill around 3 at 2am; Northwest wind 11 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. In 2018, we had cloudy skies in the evening, which became light rain by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 32 degrees. The record low of 13 occurred back in 1981.

Cool this weekend with temperatures running 13 degrees below normal but otherwise sunny. πŸ˜€ Saturday, sunny, with a high near 32. Sunday, mostly sunny, with a high near 39. Typical average high for the weekend is 48 degrees. I don’t think it’s going to be that nice of a weekend, but I’m hopeful it won’t be too cold and sun will help a lot. Much depends on how windy it is. At least I should be able to do some walks around town. Staying home — except for taking the bus to the Green Energy Fair 🌲 should save money, which is good, because things are kind of tight. The sun should help limit the heating bills a bit. And maybe nicer weather for next week?

Looking ahead, there are 4 weeks until 7:15 AM Sunrise βŒ›οΈ when the sun will be setting at 4:21 pm with dusk at 4:53 pm. Pretty close to the shortest days of the year. That’s actually the latest sunset, although we continue to loose light in the morning through early January. On that day in 2018, we had partly sunny, mist and temperatures between 36 and 18 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 38 degrees. We hit a record high of 64 back in 1966.

I’m thankful for… Public transportation in the snow…

I’m thankful for…

Living somewhere near ample, reliable public transportation so that even when the weather gets dicy, I have nothing to worry about as do my commute. It can snow and ice as much as it does and I’ll still get to and from work safely.
