September 3, 2019 Morning

Good morning! Happy Tuesday. A four day work week after a four day Labor Day Weekend well at least for me. School is back tomorrow. 🚸 I expect long traffic delays tomorrow, especially on the evening commute and later running buses in the morning. 🚍 Although honestly, Interstate 787 hasn’t been so backed up since they changed the traffic light timing. Two weeks to Constitution Day πŸ“œ.

Otherwise despite being September expect an almost summer like day. Partly cloudy and 62 degrees in Delmar, NY. β›… Calm wind. The dew point is 57 degrees. Pretty much what you would expect for early September which should dry up yesterday’s rain.

Today will have patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, mostly sunny 🌞, with a high of 79 degrees at 4pm. Two degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around August 27th. Maximum dew point of 61 at 1pm. Light and variable wind. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. It was very sticky. The high last year was 94 degrees. The record high of 100 was set in 1953. Last recorded high above 100 in Albany.

Being that I was out Friday I expect a busy day at work. πŸ’Ό But I’ll get caught up on things. I uploaded some new maps for the blog but I’m not sure when I’ll have time to post them. 🌐 Maybe I’ll go down to the library after work to do that. πŸ“š

The sun will set at 7:26 pm with dusk around 7:54 pm, which is one minute and 44 seconds earlier than yesterday. πŸŒ‡ At sunset, look for mostly clear skies πŸŒ„ and temperatures around 71 degrees. The dew point will be 59 degrees. There will be a south-southeast breeze at 7 mph. Today will have 13 hours and 2 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 48 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be partly cloudy 🌀, with a low of 63 degrees at 4am. Seven degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 63 at 6am. South wind 6 to 10 mph. In 2018, we had rain in the evening, which became partly cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It was sticky. It got down to 68 degrees. The record low of 37 occurred back in 1946.

Cool but sunny early September weekend on tap. 😎 Saturday, mostly sunny, with a high near 74. Maximum dew point of 53 at 4pm. Sunday, mostly sunny, with a high near 70. Maximum dew point of 52 at 6am. Summer has called it quits early this year. Typical average high for the weekend is 76 degrees.

I was reading more about the logging capacity Renology MPPT solar controllers ⬜ and the logging library that they have for using with Linux and the Raspberry Pi.πŸ”£ I’ve been talking about building a smart relay between the starting battery and accessory batteries in my truck – the solar controller could be a good source of information to feed into it. πŸ”Œ Plus a simple text based interface probably would be the best way to get information as I don’t have room on my phone for any more apps. πŸ“±

As previously noted, there are 2 weeks until Constitution Day πŸ“œ when the sun will be setting at 7:01 pm with dusk at 7:29 pm. On that day in 2018, we had humid, mostly sunny, warm, mist and temperatures between 82 and 67 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 72 degrees. We hit a record high of 89 back in 1942.

It looks like my autumn road trip will be starting in about a month πŸš™on October 5th. The first day I will drive down to Tonawanda Penna and camp overnight then head down to Cannan Heights West Virginia via Interstate 99 and US 220 and another connector road to Corridor H. I may sped a good portion of my week there this year, as I like it down there.
