I could camp here tonight. Still chewing on it
Next year, when it will rain every day, I should bring my kayak
Last night I installed Sky Map on my phone. It’s amazing on starry nights
July 24, 2019 Morning
Good morning! What day is it? Halfway Through Vacation, of course. Next Wednesday is Teeth Cleaning Day π. Mostly sunny and 65 degrees at the Finger Lakes National Forest. Calm wind. The dew point is 54 degrees.
I took down camp βΊ but I’ve not totally decided my plans yet for the day, I may play it by ear π. This campsite is kind of a mess from the mud and it could use some time to dry up. Plus it could use some time recovering with the grass after four nights of camping. I think I will go to Watkins Glen pool π and the Glen Dairy Bar but after that I’m not totally sure. I think with the low temperature and low dew point it might be cold to spend the whole day there. But I would like to watch one more nice Finger Lakes sunset. π
Today will have a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 3pm and 4pm. Mostly sunny π, with a high of 75 degrees at 3pm. Eight degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around September 8th. Maximum dew point of 56 at 10am. Calm wind becoming north 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. It was humid. The high last year was 89 degrees. The record high of 96 was set in 1941.
Tonight will be mostly clear π, with a low of 55 degrees at 5am. Seven degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around September 6th. Maximum dew point of 57 at 8pm. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. In 2018, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became partly cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It was very sticky. It got down to 73 degrees. The record low of 46 occurred back in 1953.
In four weeks on August 21 the sun will be setting at 7:59 pm,π which is 36 minutes and 13 seconds earlier then today. In 2018 on that day, we had partly sunny, rain showers and temperatures between 80 and 65 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 80 and 59 degrees. The record high of 98 degrees was set back in 1916.
