October 23, 2018 Morning

Good morning! Happy Tuesday. Two weeks to Election Day 2018 πŸ—³οΈ. Cloudy and 38 degrees in North Syracuse. ☁ Calm wind. Kind of a dark morning with the clouds, although it didn’t help that I drove to work early this morning as I have a busy day ahead. Going to be relatively cool today, but no freezing weather expected, so it will just be rain showers and rain later. Temperatures will drop below freezing at Thursday around 10 pm. β˜ƒοΈ

Today will have a chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 3pm. Otherwise cloudy 🌧, with a high of 54 degrees at 3pm. Three degrees below normal. Light and variable wind becoming west 5 to 7 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. A year ago, we had cloudy skies. The high last year was 70 degrees. The record high of 81 was set in 1947. 0.5 inches of snow fell back in 2002.❄

The sun will set at 6:08 pm with dusk around 6:37 pm, which is one minute and 30 seconds earlier than yesterday. πŸŒ‡ At sunset, look for rain 🌧and 51 degrees. There will be a west breeze at 7 mph. Tomorrow will have 10 hours and 36 minutes of daytime, a decrease of 2 minutes and 44 seconds over today.

Tonight will have showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Cloudy , with a low of 39 degrees at 6am. Two degrees above normal. West wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. In 2017, we had cloudy skies. It got down to 62 degrees. The record low of 16 occurred back in 1969.

Today in 1973, President Richard M. Nixon agrees to turn over subpoenaed audio tapes of his Oval Office conversations. πŸ“Ό Upon review it would be discovered that roughly 18 minutes of the tape would be missing. Eventually among other things, it will lead to the president’s almost certain impeachment, and then eventually he resigns. Hopefully we will see a similar thing happen to trump.

There are 14 days, 14 hours and 20 minutes until the poll close on Election Day in New York. πŸ—³ Election Day will be here before you know it. It’s important to get out and vote, although i am starting to wonder if I am ultimately going to get my absentee ballot. Hasn’t come yet. I should call the Board of Elections. Maybe later in the day. That said, I’m more focused on my upcoming camping adventure, which should be great the following the week.πŸ• I really need to get away from it all, it’s been a long time out here.

As previously noted, there are 2 weeks until Election Day 2018 πŸ—³οΈ when the sun will be setting at 4:49 pm with dusk at 5:19 pm (Standard Time). On that day in 2017, we had rain, mist, cloudy skies and temperatures between 63 and 42 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 52 degrees. We hit a record high of 73 back in 2015.
