September 5, 2018 Morning

Good morning! What day is it? The first day of school for the Hungry Freaks Daddy, of course.🚸 “Mr. America walk on by your schools that do not teach, the minds that won’t be reached.” I think it’s hilarious that this Frank Zappa song is so old now that they play it at the senior centers.πŸ‘Ή At the time it was released it must have horrified a certain generation.πŸ‘΄πŸ‘΅ Four weeks to Last Sunset After 6:30 PM πŸŒ†.

Mostly sunny and 77 degrees in Delmar. There is a south breeze at 5 mph. πŸƒ. The dew point is 69 degrees. Warming up quickly, going to be a hot day. The muggy weather ends tomorrow around 11 pm. πŸ˜“Β But it’s not expected to last past tomorrow, which is good because if you want to escape the heat, your choices are a swimming hole or air conditioned buildings as the pools are done for the year. 🏊

Today will be mostly sunny and hot 😎, with a high of 91 degrees at 3pm. 15 degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 73 at 5pm. Heat index values as high as 99 bottles of beer on the wall. Well not as bad as summer but it is the first day of school in September. Kentucky fried children I guess in those non air conditioned class rooms.πŸ—Β At least those not lucky to be educated in non-air conditioned classrooms in Kentucky.🐣 South wind 5 to 8 mph. A year ago, we had cloudy skies, clearing in the afternoon. It became sticky as the day progressed. The high last year was 77 degrees. The record high of 91 was set in 1973.

The sun will set at 7:22 pm with dusk around 7:50 pm, which is one minute and 44 seconds earlier than yesterday. πŸŒ‡ At sunset, look for partly clear skies and 86 degrees. The dew point will be 73 degrees. The heat index around sunset will be 75. β›± There will be a south breeze at 8 mph. Today will have 12 hours and 56 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 48 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 5am. β›ˆPartly cloudy, with a low of 74 degrees at 5am.Β Going to be sticky, tough to sleep night, with the air temperature 19 degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 73 at 6pm. Yuck. 😣 South wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. In 2017, we had cloudy skies. It got down to 58 degrees. The record low of 38 occurred back in 1938.

I dropped off Big Red to get the tires rotated and oil changed,Β so I should be ready to go for my work travels this autumn.Β πŸš—Β I am hoping that I won’t have to do too much driving when I’m out in the field, and actually it looks like it may be fairly reasonable this year based on the places I’ve been scheduled to be. Your never know. I just don’t like driving, especially in areas where the roads are narrow and turns are tight with the big truck.Β πŸ•Β The camping gear has beenΒ put away for the season,Β carefully inventoried and looked at for damage. I am going to bring my hammock and may pack a few camping supplies later on, but for now I want to get through everything in the bed, and pull the bed mat to see if I can find things that may be missing under it.

Looking ahead, there are 4 weeks until Last Sunset After 6:30 PM πŸŒ† when the sun will be setting at 6:32 pm with dusk at 7:00 pm. On that day in 2017, we had heavy fog, fog, patches of fog, mist, mostly sunny skies and temperatures between 72 and 41 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 65 degrees. We hit a record high of 83 back in 1967.

Remember kids, school is back in session. 🏫Try to avoid hitting small children with your car, it can do a lot of damage to your grill and radiator.🚢πŸ’₯πŸš— With the weather being as hot as it is, you don’t want to have a leaky radiator as your car may overheat.πŸ”₯
