Good morning! Yeah, it’s Friday! Two weeks to Memorial Day Weekend Starts 🏕️. That seems hard to believe, it was just winter a few weeks ago. I still have no idear where I’m going for the long weekend. Maybe Vermont or maybe some where different. A lot will depend on the weather and how busy I’m at work. Mostly cloudy ☁ and 53 degrees in Delmar, NY. There is a north-northwest breeze at 14 mph. 🍃 with gusts up to 24 mph 💨💨💨.

Today will be sunny 🌞 , with a high of 62 degrees at 3pm. Five degrees below normal. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. A year ago, we had mostly cloudy skies with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 66 degrees. The record high of 90 was set in 1911. 0.5 inches of snow fell back in 1907.❄

The sun will set at 8:07 pm with dusk around 8:39 pm, which is one minute and 4 seconds later than yesterday. 🌇 At sunset, look for mostly clear skies and 56 degrees. I might go down to the park later on with a book. 📖There will be a west-northwest breeze at 8 mph. Today will have 14 hours and 30 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 11 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have a chance of showers, mainly after 4am. Increasing clouds ☁, with a low of 43 degrees at 5am. Four degrees below normal. Northwest wind 5 to 8 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. In 2017, we had partly cloudy skies. It got down to 41 degrees. The record low of 29 occurred back in 1969.

Bus was running late due to the road construction. 🚧 It wasn’t unpleasant waiting for the bus but if I had known it would be so late, I’d gotten an earlier bus.🚌

This weekend I will stay in town, picking up the bolts I need to mount the truck cap tomorrow and then hopefully getting it bolted on Sunday. 🔩Wiring should be easy although I do want to add an additional fuse for safety which I’ll have to order next week. The solar panel will supplement the alternator on keeping the accessory battery charged especially after multiple days of camping with less driving or idling of the engine. With gas prices as high as they may get this summer it’s all the more important.

Next weekend if the weather is good, I may go camping. It would nice to experiment with the panel before the long weekend. 🔌 As I was noting before, nothing is in stone for Memorial Day Weekend this year, I’ll make it up as we get closer. ⛺

As previously noted, there are 2 weeks until Memorial Day Weekend Starts 🏕️ when the sun will be setting at 8:21 pm with dusk at 8:54 pm. On that day in 2017, we had rain, drizzle, mist, cloudy skies and temperatures between 62 and 54 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 72 degrees. We hit a record high of 94 back in 1981.
