Dunn dump opponents call for shutdown – Times Union

I've become increasingly convinced that the reason why society is so wasteful is that energy is much too cheap and as such wastefulness is built into the system. Imagine if gasoline cost $25 a gallon and electricity was $10 a kilowatt hour. We would be a much different but probably a much better off society. Our communities would be places we would want to live rather than places we want to escape by using automobiles, planes and buses. That's why I support a carbon tax and eliminating taxes investments and income.

Illinois pork farmer on Chinese tariffs: ‘Our worst fears seem to be coming true’

"Pork exports to China are smaller, but growing. Nationally, more than $660 million in pork β€” including β€œvariety meats” like ears, hooves and organ meat β€” was exported to China last year, according to Tamara Nelsen, senior commodities director for the state farm bureau. Because those products are sold to smaller-budget, price-sensitive Chinese consumers, the tariffs could hurt demand and therefore pricing, Nelsen said."

April 2, 2018 Evening

Good evening! Partly sunny and 45 degrees in Delmar, NY. There is a west-northwest breeze at 7 mph. 🍃.

Decided to leave work at four o’clock so I could drop off my dry cleaning before they close and because I have plenty of hours in the bank after last week. Busy day at work but still a relief after last week. Traffic is much lighter at this hour at any rate. Kind of chilly outside, despite the sun, with the breeze.

The sun will set at 7:23 pm with dusk around 7:51 pm, which is one minute and 8 seconds later than yesterday. 🌇 At sunset, look for mostly clear skies and 43 degrees. There will be a west-northwest breeze at 5 mph.

Tonight will have increasing clouds ☁, with a low of 29 degrees at 5am. Four degrees below normal. Northwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening. In 2017, we had partly cloudy skies. It got down to 31 degrees. The record low of 16 occurred back in 1954.

Tonight will have a Waning Gibbous Moon 🌖 with 92% illuminated with the moon rising at 9:48 pm. The moon will set at 8:35 am. The Last Quarter Moon is on Saturday night with a chance of showers and breezy then partly cloudy skies. The Pink Moon 🌝 is on Saturday, April 28th. The sun will rise at 6:34 am with the first light at 6:05 am, which is one minute and 43 seconds earlier than yesterday. 🌄 Tonight will have 11 hours and 9 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 2 minutes and 52 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will rain, mainly after 3pm. β˜” High of 44 degrees at 5pm. Nine degrees below normal. Kind of a cold, wet rain. I better bring a rain coat. South wind 5 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies with more clouds in the afternoon. The high last year was 61 degrees. The record high of 79 was set in 1981. 11 inches of snow fell back in 1891.❄

I was looking at one of my graphs, and noticed that the average temperature increases by one degree every two days in April or roughly 3 degrees a week. Doesn’t seem like a big jump but we go from average highs in the low 50s📈 during the first half of the month to the mid 60s as May approaches.

Cool this weekend with temperatures running 13 degrees below normal but otherwise sunny. πŸ˜€ Saturday, partly sunny, with a high near 40. Sunday, partly sunny, with a high near 45. Typical average high for the weekend is 55 degrees.

That weekend forecast looks increasingly nice. Cool but sunny.🎣 Maybe not perfect for fishing but I guess if you go early or late might be fine. Depending on how much snow is left by the weekend I might even consider going camping. β›Ί

In four weeks on April 30 the sun will be setting at 7:55 pm,🌄 which is 31 minutes and 50 seconds later then today. In 2017 on that day, we had rain, cloudy skies and temperatures between 53 and 42 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 64 and 42 degrees. The record high of 86 degrees was set back in 1903.

Looking ahead, Memorial Day 🇺🇸 is in 8 weeks, Labor Day 👨‍🏭 is in 22 weeks, Consitution Day 👨‍🏭 is in 24 weeks, Columbus Day 🛥 is in 27 weeks, Veterans Day Observed (Monday) 🇺🇸 is in 32 weeks, Cyber Monday 🛍 is in 34 weeks, First Sunday of Advent ✝ is in 8 months and New Years Eve 🎆 is in 39 weeks.
