Just 17 Percent Of Americans Approve Of Republican Senate Health Care Bill
"Americans broadly disapprove of the Senate GOP's health care bill, and they're unhappy with how Republicans are handling the efforts to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, according to a new NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll."
"Just 17 percent of those surveyed say they approve of the Senate's health care plan, the Better Care Reconciliation Act. Fifty-five percent say they disapprove, while about a quarter said they hadn't heard enough about the proposal to have an opinion on it."

June 28, 2017 Morning
Good morning! What day is it? An Extraordinary Hump Day, of course. Hopefully Friday into the Dependence Day Weekend won’t be so extraordinary. Partly sunny and 62 degrees in the land of the Socialist Delmaratian. There is a west-southwest breeze at 6 mph. The dew point is 50 degrees. Feeling somewhat better today but I still think that the synchronizer is a good bit worn on the third day of the week.
Today will be mostly sunny, with a high of 78 degrees at 4pm. Three degrees below normal. Maximum dew point of 51 at 8am. West wind 6 to 15 mph. A most extraordinary of a day to not be stuck at work late into the evening. A year ago, we had thunderstorm, thunderstorm rain, rain, mist, mostly cloudy skies and a high of 83 degrees. The record high of 99 was set in 1901.
The sun will set at 8:37 pm with dusk around 9:11 pm, which is 3 seconds earlier than yesterday. At sunset, look for mostly clear conditions and 69 degrees. The dew point will be 53 degrees. There will be a west breeze at 8 mph. Today will have 15 hours and 17 minutes of daytime, an increase of 31 seconds over yesterday.
Tonight will have increasing clouds, with a low of 57 degrees at 5am. Three degrees below normal. Maximum dew point of 54 at 9pm. West wind 5 to 8 mph becoming south after midnight. In 2016, it got down to 60 degrees with rain and shallow fog and mostly cloudy skies. The record low of 44 occurred back in 1981.
On this day in 1896, An explosion in the Newton Coal Company’s Twin Shaft Mine in Pittston, Pennsylvania results in a massive cave-in that kills 58 miners. Also in 1969, Stonewall riots begin in New York City, marking the start of the Gay Rights Movement. Lots of explosive things hpapening on this day in history.
Looking ahead, there are 8 weeks until Last Day with Average High of 80 when the sun will be setting at 7:43 pm with dusk at 8:12 pm. Get our and enjoy summer before it comes to an end, especially on this most extraordinary day. On that day in 2016, we had mostly sunny skies and temperatures between 80 and 50 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 80 degrees. We hit a record high of 94 back in 1947.
Felt pretty sick after work so I didn’t do much except some very minor things around the apartment. I permanently wired the color changing led strip inside the cab of my truck so I have light when camping and I drop stuff on the floor after dark and can’t find it. I don’t plan on using the different color options much but they are still rather cool looking. I also cleaned out the cab of my truck and put the racks back on the roof. When I go shopping this week, I’m getting a big tackle box. This way I don’t have fishing tackle rolling all over my truck. Despite being a sick puppy, I also ended up laying in bed for a while and going for my evening walk.
This morning though, I’m feeling somewhat better. I got to bed at a reasonable hour. Of course today being an ongodly day at work, I will probably mess up my sleep schedule once again.
Slowly but surely I’m getting ready to head to Moose River Plains, assuming that I don’t have to work this weekend. Going to be a warm weekend but not as wet as earlier models. I think it will be a nice weekend and if it proves to be quite hot, I’ll have to get familiar with the Inlet beach and that lousy and overpriced Inlet Ice Cream.
Enjoy this most extraordinary summer day. Make the best you can out of it.
