March 25, 2017 8 AM Update
Good morning! Happy Saturday. Next Saturday starts April. Damp, gray and 39 degrees in Delmar, NY. There is a north breeze at 6 mph. We aren’t expecting a lot of sun or nice weather until Wednesday. That way March can officially leave like a lamb.
Today will rain, mainly before 4pm. Cloudy, with a high of 39 degrees at 8am. Eight degrees below normal. North wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. A year ago, we had rain and a high of 61 degrees. The record high of 74 was set in 1910. 1.9 inches of snow fell back in 1960.
The sun will set at 7:14 pm with dusk around 7:42 pm, which is one minute and 9 seconds later than yesterday. Today will have 12 hours and 26 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 54 seconds over yesterday.
Tonight will have a chance of rain before 8pm, then a chance of snow after 3am. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low of 31 degrees at 2am. Two degrees above normal. North wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. In 2016, it got down to 34 degrees under mostly cloudy skies. The record low of 2 occurred back in 1960.
I don’t have a lot of plans for the weekend but this evening I will probably run to the store. I need to get some more clothes for work and I want to buy the wire I need to wire up the truck cap. I’m hoping next weekend to clean up the truck cap, hook up the low voltage disconnect and switches.
As previously noted, next Saturday starts April when the sun will be setting at 7:22 pm with dusk at 7:50 pm. On that day in 2016, we had rain and temperatures between 70 and 42 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 52 degrees. We hit a record high of 77 back in 1986.
