Today is the 200th Day of Year. Only 165 days remain. In 23 weeks it will be boxing day and a party burning up all that Christmas wrapping paper.

On this day in 1969, Senator Ted Kennedy from Massachusetts drives his car off a bridge and his passenger, Mary Jo Kopechne, dies. Don’t drive drunk, especially if you’re a prominent senator. And in 1984, there were McDonald’s massacre in San Ysidro, California: In a fast-food restaurant, James Oliver Huberty opens fire, killing 21 people and injuring 19 others before being shot dead by police. Nice people doing nice stuff.  After that, California implemented strict new gun control in that state, and there have been no more mass shootings. Har. Har. I spent too many hours listening to Cam Edwards’ 40 acres and a Fool, and his NRA News shows. He’s one of the few conservative commentators that I enjoy, because he’s quite thoughtful and honest. And he’s a hobby farmer and likes shooting guns a lot.

There are 2 weeks until First Day of August when the sun will be setting at 8:14 pm with dusk at 8:46 pm. First day back to work after my vacation. The average high temperature is 82 degrees, with a record high of 101 in 1933.

Misplaced my house keys this morning, so I’m running late for work. I caught the late bus downtown. Gave me time to fold my laundry and move photos from the weekend on my laptop. Last week was such a headache, so I’m kind of trying to avoid getting started on Monday even though I have a shit ton of work to get done today.

I’m actually kind of dreading today. Next week at this time, I’ll be sitting in the woods, getting ready to spend my day poolside. So if I survive this week, I’ll be okay. I will retire last week’s debt, and never look back or dwell on my stupidity any more.

You can’t change your day, but you can change your attitude.
