Good morning! Overcast and around 57 leading to a chilly start this morning. If your in the woods this morning I wouldn’t worry about rain as it’s expected to clear later and get up to 76 later.

The weekend forecast hasn’t changed much recently so except Friday evening, it should be nice if not a bit chilly in the Adirondacks. If I didn’t have work stuff to do this weekend I’d probably head out of town.

One Month to Independence Day Weekend. Independence Day is on a Saturday this year, so I am hopeful it will be a long weekend, preferably starting on the Friday July 3rd. I am probably going to head up to Moose River Plains for the first time this year. I’d love to get campsite 56, but I don’t know if that’s going to happen.

There is plenty of summer left I keep telling myself. Still I am well aware that summer is an endangered species and will be over before it begins. June 20th is the longest day of the year. Still will get warmer for another month beyond then now but as soon as mid-August it’s obvious how quickly the sunset is coming. I really should look at ordering some traps to get dyed and look at hunting gear as the season will be hear before you know it.

I increasingly want to put a 3 inch  body lift on my truck as apparently 6 inches isn’t high enough and I don’t like how the wheels rub at full lock. This is what happens when you know people with even bigger trucks. Body lifts aren’t real expensive but it will have to wait until August or September or maybe the fall. I just have to keep the cap roof under 9 feet so I can clear the car wash. I don’t know, we will see.
