September 7, 2016 Night

Good evening! Mostly clear and 71 degrees in Albany, NY. Calm wind. The dew point is 66 degrees. The muggy weather ends Sunday around noontime.

Tonight will be partly cloudy, with a low of 63 degrees at 5am. Eight degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 67 at 11pm. Calm wind. The record low of 34 occurred back in 1978. Certainly not tonight. Waxing Crescent Moon tonight with 42% illuminated. The moon will set around 1:12 am. The First Quarter Moon is on Friday at 11:49 am with partly cloudy expected. The Full β€œCorn” Moon is on Friday, September 16th at 7:05 pm.

Traffic light at Washington and Western is malfunctioning but after like five minutes it finally turned green. I ended up driving in yesterday after I missed the bus which was running a bit early after meeting with my insurance agent to discuss my coverage.

Went to Walmart on the way home to pick up a windshield wiper blade to replace the passenger side blade to improve the view for the dash cam and so I can pass inspection next month. The old one was shredded rubber. Blade didn’t fit. I think the packaging was wrong at Walmart. I had to return. Ended up going to AutoZone and buying one for twice the price. Not a fancy winter blade but still a little more high end and fancy compared to the driver side. As long as it clears the windshield well. Driving more for work, it’s important I can see well on rainy days. Refilled the windshield washer reservior. Dropped a bottle of windshield washer fluid on the ground and the cap shattered but it did not spill. I guess I can take the empty bottle out from the recycle bin and use the cap from that.

Finished cleaning out my truck and putting away my camping gear. Continuing to pack for my work trip. Finished washing down the kitchen. Refrigerator is the cleanest in years. Looks pretty good now. Things are also are getting done on the cleaning front in the bathroom and kitchen. Making good progress.

Hazy, hot and humid tomorrow. With this yucky weather, we will have a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Partly sunny, with a high of 89 degrees at 3pm. 14 degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 72 at 6pm. Yucky.  Light south wind increasing to 12 to 17 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. The record high of 94 was set in 2015. The sun will rise at 6:27 am with the first light at 5:59 am, which is 1 minutes and 4 seconds later then yesterday.
Looking ahead, First Day When It Got Below Freezing in Albany is in 1 week, Yom Kippur is in 5 weeks, Last Day with 10 Hours of Daylight in Albany is in 2 months and First Day with Temperatures Recorded Below Zero is in 12 weeks.
