Weather Update – October 12, 2021

This should be a beautiful, sunny autumn week … 😎

It was nice taking off Friday and the long weekend, but I almost wish I took off more time this week. Thursday Big Red is going to the shop to get it’s alignment checked, and I will hopefully finally figure out what else is broken up front that continues to make things off alignment. 👨‍🔧 I thought it was Wednesday, but I checked my notes, which is good, as I can just drop it off tomorrow in the afternoon and not have to get up at 5 AM to drop it off at the shop by 7 AM on Thursday.

I still haven’t settled on the tires. ⚫ I am actually leaning against calling off my West Virginia trip in favor of some shorter trips, so I don’t think getting the new tires is quite as much of a rush. I mainly just didn’t want to drive on the rotted, worn tires to West Virginia, especially with the 70 mph interstate on the off chance I had a blow-out from hours and hours of driving and the rough roads. ⛽ Gas prices are part of my reason for changing my mind, plus autumn is fading quickly now, and I think I’d rather just do some shorter 4-day weekend type trips — Madison County, maybe the Tug Hill.

The weekend doesn’t look great, but I might stay in town to knock on some doors 👊 for local political candidates. Probably have to wear a muzzle but that’s fine, that’s just how things are these days. I think early voting starts this weekend, so it would be a good time to early vote, especially if I decide to head out of town on a future weekend. For example, it might be fun to create a four day weekend by taking off November 1st, as I have Election Day off to head out of town, and be away from the political craziness.
