Weather Update – December 5, 2021
Warm then cold, it’s an up and down week ahead. π’
I was hoping for better weather today, π for going out to Five Rivers but it looks like we are still stuck on the clouds and gray skies. π¦ Regardless, unless it starts to snow or rain, I will be head out there before it gets dark too early — which will happen early with sunset at 4:22 PM tonight.
I am watching the forecast carefully to see about Wednesday when I am scheduled to have the new tires put on Big Red. β« The shop said they could do it Tuesday, but I couldn’t as had a 8:30 meeting downtown, and then that meeting got canceled and then they announced a big snow storm on Wednesday which appears to be cancelled. But I am pretty determined to get the tires on Wednesday and the shock bushing repaired so I can get the truck inspected on Thursday or Friday, so I can put this long obnoxious process in the rear-view mirror, and save for the next big repair on Red.
Thursday I will officially be the Deputy Director for Research in the Assembly, π¨πΌ which means I get a new office, more money, and a bunch of other nice perks. That’s kind of fun. Not going to have the great views though from my old office, although now I trade in views of the Catskills and Pine Bush for the Capitol and the Dunn Construction Debris landfill. π Working in skyscraper downtown most of the views are of smokestacks and landfills, a sign of the times. π£
Next weekend I might try to get out of town for a long weekend, π but so far the forecast doesn’t look that promising. What can I say — it’s winter. I have this crazy thought about going out to the Finger Lakes for a week in mid to late December to winter tent camp at the National Forest, βοΈ although maybe that’s just the crazy that is talking, not what my real plans are. π€ͺ Plus it gets hard to get time off through the end of the year, although I should take time off, because otherwise I will loose it before the end of the year.
