Except for cash for clunkers, this has to the most idiotic ideas of the Obama presidency. Capital gains from middle-class savings should never be taxed, especially not for college purposes.

In contrast, if you made college loans taxable income. If students had to pay state and federal taxes on college loans, every year they took them out, they would be much less likely to rely on loans for education purposes. This would free students from education debt.

Finally Friday. That's a good thing.

I just wish it was 75 degrees, and I was heading up to the Adirondacks in my jacked up truck, lots of beer, kayak, fishing pole and my guns.

Good Morning, Snowy Friday

Good morning on this snowy Friday. The weatherman didn’t disappoint last night with the roads plenty slick this morning and a couple of inches of snow falling last night. Not a blizzard but kind of pretty with the bus driver driving.

Like usual the 8:56 bus downtown was running on time but it was kind of a cold walk down there with the snow coming down fairly heavy.

Tomorrow is the last day of January with February coming around on Sunday. We will all be waiting on Monday morning to see if the ground hog sees his shadow as some kind of hint on February and March weather. It’s not over until it’s over, as they say about winter.

After giving it a bit of thought, I’m going to hold off on the re-gear of my truck as I don’t want to put anymore money into it at this time. Probably will buy a reprogramer to fix the speedometer/odometer and possibly improve the gas mileage, but compared to gears that is inexpensive. A correct speedometer makes it easier to avoid getting speeding tickets which rapidly could cost more than reprogramming.

Traffic is backed up heading downtown due to ice but I guess it gives me more time to work on the blog post. Oh well, I’m not driving in this crappy weather.
