Taco Tuesday and Cinco de Mayo 🌮

The holiday invented by Corona, not the virus, but cold drink with lime and Margarita drinkers to celebrate spring and Mexican independence or at least due to advertising campaigns by beer, wine, and tequila companies; today, Cinco de Mayo generates beer sales on par with the Super Bowl. I did have tacos at mom and dad’s house on Sunday and that was good, I was going to make pinto beans but they never got soaked last night before I went to bed.

It turned out to be a decent evening last night, 🌇 but I was in the office for a while last night working on a work project, but by the time I was commuting home, traffic was light on rail trail, as all the lollygaggers had headed home for supper. I got to Hannaford and decided it was a nice night, and rather then shop 🛒 and head straight home with my eggs and milk, I would first ride over the Normans Kill West Preserve until dusk. The wild garlic was tasty, it was nice down by the river with the wildflowers 🌸 and apple blooms, and fairly quiet once the construction across the river quieted down. Then I went to Hannaford, rode home around dusk, fried up some cornmeal and onion pancakes and headed to bed.

With the longer days, I’ve been staying up later and later, 🛌 and getting up later each morning. It’s kind of odd as the sun is up early now, but I was late enough getting going today that I decided just to have a quick breakfast of left over cornmeal pancakes from last night and reheated coffee. ☕ I had work that needed to get done when I got in the office as we were short-staffed so it was kind of a rush in this morning. 🚴 Wasn’t a bad bike ride in, I’ve gone back to riding through the neighborhood and catching the bike path in Elsmere as I don’t love riding Cherry at rush hour in the morning. ⛈ Thunderstorm early this morning, quite the crack of lightening before I got out of bed.

Brought my rain jacket into work, ☔ hopefully I won’t need it today but it seems like it will be mandatory tomorrow, at least drizzle most of the day. Back to busing it both ways tomorrow it seems. I could take the F-350 SuperDuty to work, but not with gas prices and traffic. 🅿 I might work in a suburban office with acres of parking, but driving is just something I’ve never got much pleasure in, especially in the city. If the weather turns out to be okay, I might do Five Rivers tonight after work, though I expect I’ll be most likely that won’t happen until Thursday.
