Still Here …
In case your wondering, I’m still alive but my phone is dead.Β I have ordered a replacement phone and will try to warranty the old phone, but I’m not hopeful. Fortunately, I was able to orderΒ a refurbished phone, the same model I currently have for $50. Not that I wanted to spend that money, but once you have a Smartphone, you really miss it when it’s not working.
Ended up staying in town, spending too much time trying to coax my phone back to life.Β But I give up. All indications from running it hooked up to the Android debugger is there is an internal hardware failure like bad memory or a CPU glitch. I really doubt it was an app or anything I caused, but who knows, I’m tough on things, dropping them and taking them up in the woods. But there is no obvious physical damage in the phone.
Regardless, I really missed not having my tunes on my phone,Β and not having Internet at home, means I’m kind of disconnected from the world. It’s not terrible, but it’s kind of odd not having access to the internet at home. The biggest lost is not having email or text, so I can’t know if anything happens at work when I’m home.
Went out hiking at Hannacroix PreserveΒ on Saturday.Β A bit chilly but still fairly nice. Photos will be uploaded later. It’s werid not having instagram, but also kind of fun waiting and then looking at the photos later on now that I’m back home.Β Photos will be uploaded later. There isn’t a lot of water in the Hannacroix Creek and it was low tide in the Hudson, but by the time I got there in the evening, things had really calmed on down.
Spent sometime cleaning, and working on various other projects.Β Figured out how i could add more wiring and cables to my truck too … going to add a USB charging port to the cap, so I can charge my phone at night, a new light on the shelf, and also a switch to over-ride the battery isolator, so I can leave both batteries connected at times when the engine is off (so I can get a more balanced battery drain when listening to the radio at night). Just little things to fiddle with going forward.
