September 29, 2018 Morning

Good morning! Happy Saturday. Final weekend of September!Β Being in Syracuse, I should say — Go Orangemen! 🍊 Partly cloudy and 58 degrees in North Syracuse. β›… There is a west breeze at 8 mph. πŸƒ. The dew point is 49 degrees. Warming up fast,Β a pretty nice final week of September. Enjoy this beautiful last weekend of September, as in only two weeks to Average High is 60 πŸ‚. The mercury drops quickly as we head into October. No color locally, but it won’t be long before we reach peak color, especially south of the city.

Today will have a chance of showers, mainly before 2pm. Partly sunny , with a high of 62 degrees at 2pm. Six degrees below normal. Maximum dew point of 49 at 10am. West wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. A year ago, we had mostly cloudy skies, clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 66 degrees. The record high of 86 was set in 1921.

The sun will set at 6:48 pm with dusk around 7:16 pm, which is one minute and 47 seconds earlier than yesterday. πŸŒ‡ At sunset, look for partly clear skies and 58 degrees. There will be a west-northwest breeze at 7 mph. Today will have 11 hours and 47 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 55 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be partly cloudy ☁, with a low of 44 degrees at 6am. One degree below normal. Calm wind. In 2017, we had mostly cloudy skies. It got down to 43 degrees. The record low of 28 occurred back in 1991.

Last night I went to Limp Lizard after work and sat out on the patio with some of my colleagues for a while.🦎 Then for the first time in a while I bought a case of beer and had two after getting back to the place where I’m staying.🍻 When you don’t drink much any more, two beers can get you kind of buzzed. Honestly, alcohol is so expensive these days and my budget so tight, i don’t really drink that much. Hang overs in your mid-30s are much worse then the mid-20s, and I don’t need to put any more weight, spending so much time these days in the office. 😳

My left eye is a bit irritated this morning again. πŸ‘ I’ve had problems the past few days with this. I just got to make sure my contacts solution and hands are good and clean πŸ‘ before I put my contacts away and touch them each day.

Sometime like 38 days and 10 hours until the polls close on Election Day. πŸ—³ It’s just another year with all the usual bull.πŸ’© But I’m used to it, and I know I will make it through it one day at a time.🐩 Honestly, my focus is on success and then getting on to my November road trip. It’s going to be a nice trip I am sure. i really enjoy camping that time of year.πŸ• If I work hard, invest, I know a better future is around the corner.🏚 Maybe one of these weekends I’ll get away for an overnight down at Stony Pond in Nelson or Winona State Forest, but those are kind of long trips, and I don’t like driving so much — especially as it seems like I’m doing quite a bit of driving lately for work. At some point I should check the oil in my truck. Not that i think it’s that low but with all the miles I’m putting on it lately … πŸ›’

Tomorrow morning, I am hoping to go for a nice little hike.🚢Not going to be a real nice morning, but I wouldn’t mind having some time to stretch my legs. Maybe this evening, although I don’t know as the sun sets so early this time of year, and there is so much to do. I am thinking either Green Lakes or the Old Erie Canal. Starting on Monday, no permit will be needed to camp at Stony Pond which is nice — it will be October after all. Unfortunately, that also means it will be getting dark early.πŸ‚

Looking forward to getting paid on Tuesday. I am making decent money being out in the field and trying to keep my expenses low, πŸ’Έ but still I have to pay my credit card bill, car insurance, and rent back home. I am hoping to save and invest as much as possible that I earn while out here, to further bolster my future. I really get tired of living in New York, in my moldy low-rent apartment in the suburbs, but I’m not in a place yet where I can just leave it behind. But week by week, I’m coming closer. 😏 These things just take time.

I am very happy that i was able to get sound back to my laptop with the USB-to-Audio DAC. I wish I had spent more on better replacement headphones though then the $4.88 Earbuds I got aΒ  Walmart. 🎧 The quality of the headphones I got suck, but then again, the Cicero Walmart didn’t have a very good choice. The sound through the headphones is kind of poor — not much bass or treble. The DAC was literally plug and play. I just plugged them in and they work fine with all my apps. Plugged into the USB hub, they work great — so now it’s even fewer cords to plug and unplug each time I pack and unpack my laptop. I am going to buy more of these DACs — so I can have one for my bag, one for work, and one to keep permanently hooked up to my USB hub at home. πŸ”Œ Money is tight, but it looks like I can get decent USB DAC adapters from China for like $2 if I am willing to wait a while.

As previously noted, there are 2 weeks until Average High is 60 πŸ‚ when the sun will be setting at 6:24 pm with dusk at 6:52 pm. On that day in 2017, we had patches of fog, mostly cloudy skies and temperatures between 66 and 38 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 61 degrees. We hit a record high of 81 back in 1930.
