64 degrees and clear this evening. No fireflies this evening but plenty of stars on the outskirts of the city. Tomorrow look for 79 degrees and sunny. Should be a nice one .

August 4, 2015 morning
Good morning on this Tuesday. It looks like we are at around 73 degrees as the 10 oβclock hour gets underway. Going to be another hot day around 80 degrees with thunderstorms expected throughout the day, especially in the evening. Itβs another one of those dog days of summer.
Guess what, my cellphone isnβt working again. It was crashing a lot on Sunday for some reason as I was returning from Pennsylvania and itβs not working very much this morning. I donβt understand the problem, as I havenβt touched any of the settings on the phone in weeks. I guess I will end up resetting the phone, losing my phone. If that doesnβt work, I might have to try to steal some of the parts from the previous phone I had that stopped working. So gosh darn frustrating.
Got power flowing back to the inverter and second battery in my truck. Apparently jump starting that dudeβs truck at the boat launch, in the water caused a fuse to blow. It was a 120 amp maxifuse, so Iβm sure the problem had to been an accidental short. Well, I was jump starting a diesel truck in a foot of water, so I guess thatβs to be expected. At any rate, I had a 50 cent 60-amp fuse which should do the job for now. Itβs possible I could blow the fuse, but I have my doubts that I would have such a draw between both batteries. Certainly cheaper then replacing the relay that connects the batteries, which I suspect is occassionally starting to fail under hot conditions. Hard to prove thought until I can find a time when it fails and I have a volt meter handy to test it. Itβs only happened once in the three months.
Next I have to fix the truck cap glass support where the rivets popped out. I might replace them with new rivets depending on the cost of a rivet hand tool, or I might just get a set of short bolts and nuts, and use a hack saw to cut them to length. That shouldnβt be a big deal.
I am also due for an oil change. I plan to pick up the oil and filter tonight at AutoZone on Delaware Avenue. I hate doing business in the Cesspool, but it is a long way out the way to get oil and filter in Colonie. I could try Walmart in Glenmont, but Iβve always found it difficult to find synthetic 5w30 oil there. Maybe they have a better supply mid-week.
