I was hoping to get out of town this weekend but the latest forecast is not promising, although I’m still hopeful about next week.

I have Monday off and Tuesday is a holiday. So I could head out of town but it all depends on how long the rain lasts on Saturday into Sunday. The following week I have the full week off, and I’m pretty sure I will go to Central NY, the Finger Lakes and maybe eventually Pennsylvania. I do want to get out of town at least a few more times before it snows a lot.

Robert Costa’s book ‘Peril,’ which he co-wrote with Bob Woodward, goes inside Trump’s “war room” on the eve of the Jan. 6 insurrection. Costa reports on Trump’s calls to his team, the tension between Pence and the president, and the ongoing threat to our democracy. The strategy of calling for an alternate slate of electors didn’t work in January, but next election it might. “Imagine if in January 2025 Republicans are much more organized and they have alternate slates of electors ready in many states. What happens then?”

Fayetteville Bypass

Trying to track down a map of the Fayetteville Bypass that was supposed to connect Interstate 690 in DeWitt to NY 92 in Oran via the NY Central RR rightway. I’m sure it has to be somewhere on the interwebs.

Once we get past the clouds, it should be a nice day 😎

At least that’s what I keep telling myself. Friday won’t be bad either but then rain for Saturday. Notice how short the days are this point. It is getting dark now that walking home from the express bus — in two weeks, well three weeks because of vacation, I will have to walk home in the dark from the express. Although, if it’s icy and cold, I might choose to local home. Still no freezing temperatures on the Albany agenda for now.

Monday and Tuesday look nice, and I have Monday off, but no plans are set in stone. I might make some plans though — I could head out of town on Sunday for a two night trip somewhere. Not sure where though at this point. Maybe the ADKs, maybe Schoharie or Madison County. Not sure.
