Good evening! Clouding up and 44 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜ There is a south-southeast breeze at 11 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. You could actually see the stars โœจ for a while when I went for my evening walk after going to the library. ๐Ÿšถ Temperatures will drop below freezing at Sunday around noontime. โ˜ƒ๏ธ

I went down to the library to do some research for Save the Pine Bush. ๐Ÿ“š Quiet at the library because they’ve canceled all community events. Smelled a bit like ammonia from all the cleaning fluid as everything does this day. ๐Ÿ˜ท Every time you hear a cough you have to cringe a bit. But I think it’s kind of silly. Just got to live your life and if you die, so be it.

I also uploaded that graphic comparison of the routing of the Mid Crosstown Arterial that I find quite fascinating. ๐Ÿšง I don’t know about you but I’m very fascinated by dragging the slider back and forth and seeing the comparison. As I explained earlier it’s not difficult to do, once you get things geo referenced. The GIS software does all the hard work. I also have some Google Maps to show but I can’t seem to get my new and improved uploader to work properly with them. I got to play with that broken code more.

Tonight will rain, mainly after 2am. ๐ŸŒง Low of 42 degrees at 3am. 18 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around April 28th. Southeast wind 11 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. In 2019, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 21 degrees. The record low of -6 occurred back in 1885.

Tonight will have a Last Quarter ๐ŸŒ— Moon with 84% illuminated. The moon will rise at 10:42 pm. The Worm ๐Ÿ› Moon is on Friday, March 27. The darkest hour is at 1:06 am, followed by dawn at 6:45 am, and sun starting to rise at 7:13 am in the east (94ยฐ) and last for 2 minutes and 55 seconds. Sunrise is one minute and 44 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 7:50 am with sun in the east (100ยฐ). Tonight will have 12 hours and 10 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 2 minutes and 54 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will rain before 7am, then showers, mainly between 7am and 1pm. ๐ŸŒฆ High of 59 degrees at 2pm. 17 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around April 18th. Maximum dew point of 45 at 11am. ๐Ÿ–๏ธ Breezy, with a southeast wind 13 to 23 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 38 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. A year ago, we had light snow in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 44 degrees. The record high of 70 was set in 2012. 22 inches of snow fell back in 1993.โ„

I think I’ll open up my windows tomorrow. ๐Ÿ”ณ That’s a good thing because I left a gallon of milk ๐Ÿฎ on the counter top when I went to work and I can still smell the racid milk despite dumping it out. I was very sad ๐Ÿ˜” the milk went bad, it’s the first time I’ve done that in years – I didn’t catch it in the morning when I confirmed the stove was off.

In four weeks on April 9 the sun will be setting in the west-northwest (281ยฐ) at 7:30 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 32 minutes and 13 seconds later then tonight. In 2019 on that day, we had partly sunny, thunderstorm and temperatures between 65 and 41 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 55 and 35 degrees. The record high of 77 degrees was set back in 1991.

With all this talk about Coronavirus, I’m thinking about a weekend trip to Schoharie County or maybe Madison County with a case of Corona beer ๐Ÿป to enjoy next to a campfire ๐Ÿ”ฅ for one night of self imposed quarantine. Exposure to natural bacteria and fresh air can be quite healthy. โ›บ Snow is gone outside of the Adirondacks although things might be muddy with the warm weather and rain expected tomorrow. Might be cold with the wind, ๐Ÿƒ and while I’m not that concerned because everything is wet I don’t want a shit ton of sparks โœจ going everywhere because it’s cold and windy. Pine Bush literature drop I had planned for the weekend has been canceled due to older members concerns about going door to door ๐Ÿšช in a community that’s already has a known spread of Coronavirus.

I am thinking of getting a box of plastic bags ๐Ÿ›„ like the grocery stores ๐Ÿฌ used to have before the plastic bag ban. You can get 1,000 plastic shopping bags for under $20 โ€” they really are dirt cheap and it would be great to carry in case you run low on bags in the store or while camping if I don’t want my reusable bags to get dirty. And then they’re great for camp trash – gone in seconds. ๐Ÿ”ฅ Goes good with the foam plates I used to use a lot while camping. Fire is more fun and easier than washing. I’ll get the plastic bags by summer. I still have plenty used plastic bags from before the ban.

Looking ahead, Easter ๐Ÿฐ is a month away and Flower Moon ๐ŸŒ• is in 8 weeks.

March 10, 2020 Night

Good evening! Rain showers and 53 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜” There is a south-southwest breeze at 14 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. The dew point is 43 degrees. Yes, it’s nice to come home ๐Ÿก and enjoy the fresh air with my windows open. Temperatures will drop below freezing at Thursday around 4 am. โ˜ƒ๏ธ At some point I may have to turn my heat on for a few days but hopefully not long at this point.

Nine degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around April 3rd. Breezy, with a southwest wind 14 to 20 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 33 mph. Buckle up for safety! ๐Ÿ’บ The darkest hour is at 1:06 am, followed by dawn at 6:48 am, and sun starting to rise at 7:16 am in the east (95ยฐ) and last for 2 minutes and 54 seconds. Sunrise is one minute and 43 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 7:54 am with sun in the east (101ยฐ). Tonight will have 12 hours and 16 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 2 minutes and 55 seconds over last night.

I went over to John Wolcott house yesterday and we found some old slides ๐Ÿ“ท from the pig ๐Ÿฝ farm on Rapp Road where Crossgates wants to build ๐Ÿข the apartment complex and Costco. I also got some documentation from him to review. Other than that not a lot of great discoveries ๐Ÿ”Ž mostly what I expected.

Tomorrow will be mostly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 46 degrees at 5pm. Four degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around March 19th. North wind 5 to 11 mph. Should be another nice day but no to keeping the windows open tomorrow. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning, remaining cloudy in the afternoon. The high last year was 43 degrees. The record high of 70 was set in 1977. 4.1 inches of snow fell back in 1941.โ„

Hump Day tomorrow and the weekend will be here before you know it. โ›„ It looks like the snow will be gone relatively soon and winter is fading away early. Maybe the Ground Hog was right ๐Ÿปafter all.

Seems almost certain now that Biden will be the democratic nominee. ๐Ÿ‘ด And almost as soon as the election is over he will be forgotten. That said, I still think it’s good the democrats are running someone against President Trump as you never really know what can happen during an election.

In four weeks on April 7 the sun will be setting in the west (280ยฐ) at 7:28 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 32 minutes and 18 seconds later then tonight. Trees Along the Clear Cut

March 9, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Happy Worm Moon ๐ŸŒ•! With the frost coming out of the ground, I bet earth worms are out and about. Mostly sunny and very spring like at 42 degrees at the Elm Ave Park & Ride – CDTA. There is a south breeze at 5 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. Temperatures will drop below freezing at Thursday around 4 am. โ˜ƒ๏ธ But a few days with the heat off and at least during the day time with the windows open. It was a bit cold when I opened the windows this morning ๐Ÿ”ณbut it was sure refreshing.

Today will be sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 71 degrees at 4pm. 30 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around May 20th. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 1:07 pm with sun having an altitude of 43.1ยฐ from the due south horizon (-27.7ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 6.4 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. Before you know it, your shadow will be as short as Mini Mike. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 6:18 pm with the sun in the west (259ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west (265ยฐ) starting at 6:53 pm and lasts for 2 minutes and 55 seconds with dusk around 7:23 pm, which is one minute and 11 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the Full ๐ŸŒ Moon in the east (84ยฐ) at an altitude of 4ยฐ from the horizon, 226,510 miles away. ๐Ÿš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 7:56 pm. At sunset, look for partly clear skies ๐ŸŒ„ and temperatures around 69 degrees. There will be a south-southwest breeze at 8 mph. Today will have 11 hours and 38 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 53 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฅ, with a low of 44 degrees at 4am. 21 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around May 4th. South wind around 7 mph. In 2019, we had partly cloudy skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 28 degrees. The record low of 0 occurred back in 1996.

Today in 1959, Barbie doll makes its debut at the American International Toy Fair in New York. ๐ŸŽŽ Ever since then barbie dolls have had their heads eaten off by family dogs ๐Ÿถ and boys have had fun burning their heads off with lighters.

A picture perfect weekend on tap. ๐Ÿ˜Ž Saturday, mostly sunny, with a high near 47. Sunday, mostly sunny, with a high near 44. Typical average high for the weekend is 43 degrees. Kind of last weekend but only a few degrees cooler. I might do an overnight in Schoharie to check out that tiny home expo at NYPA Gilboa plant but it depends on what I’m doing with Save the Pine Bush.

๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒผOnly 10 days remain until the first day of calendar spring!๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒผ

Spring?

March 8, 2020 Night

Good evening! Mostly clear and 44 degrees in Delmar, NY. There is a south breeze at 5 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. Temperatures will drop below freezing at Thursday around 3 am. โ˜ƒ๏ธ

Mild evening ๐ŸŒƒ, enjoyed my evening walk. ๐Ÿšถ I ended up walking quite a few miles today, visiting a number of preserves and it was a nice day. Always try to spend a lot of time looking at the trees, observing birds ๐Ÿฆ and wildlife, trying to go through life not too blind to the world around me. Spent a lot of time in the woods this weekend for sure. Even if I don’t travel far there is a lot of nature locally.

Driving ๐Ÿš˜ back through Berne got me thinking how much the hill towns are not unlike small rural towns everywhere. ๐Ÿฎ Looking at Sauk County Wisconsin over the past week on the YouTube, and thinking back to my trips to West Virginia and Pennsylvania got me thinking how many nice small towns outside of New York I could ultimately settle down in and have a lot more freedom ๐Ÿ†“ than in New York State. Maybe the pasture isn’t greener everywhere but I see the plastic bag ban and these massive but low output solar farms as a sign of what’s to come and it’s not good. The same with the wilderness activists and anti frackers locking ๐Ÿ”’ all our land. To say nothing of more and more suburban track housing and apartment complexes going up everywhere. I miss the small town life I grew up in but I can’t see buying property in New York at this point. Once I don’t have family in New York, I’m towing everything I can out of the state for greener pastures.

Tonight will be partly cloudy ๐ŸŒค, with a low of 34 degrees at 5am. 11 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around April 6th. Going to be cool at night but it’s only the second week of March. At least my heat is off. โ™จ South wind 5 to 7 mph. In 2019, we had clear skies in the evening, which became clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 12 degrees. The record low of -14 occurred back in 1943.

Tonight will have the Worm Full ๐Ÿ€ผ/strong>๓— Moon. At 10 PM, the moon was in the east-southeast (119ยฐ) at an altitude of 44ยฐ from the horizon, some 227,258 miles away from where you are looking up from the earth. ๐Ÿš€It’s a pretty big moon with a lot of moonlight. Didn’t need the brights on much driving home from the parents house. At the state speed limit of 55 mph, you’ll make it there by August 28th. Buckle up for safety! ๐Ÿ’บ The darkest hour is at 12:07 am, followed by dawn at 6:51 am, and sun starting to rise at 7:20 am in the east (96ยฐ) and last for 2 minutes and 54 seconds. Sunrise is one minute and 42 seconds earlier than today. ๐ŸŒ„ Still dark morning ahead. The golden hour ends at 7:57 am with sun in the east-southeast (102ยฐ). Tonight will have 12 hours and 22 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 2 minutes and 54 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will be sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 68 degrees at 4pm. 27 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around May 10th. Outstanding. South wind 6 to 9 mph. But red flag ๐Ÿšฉ conditions so tomorrow is a day you shouldn’t be burning stuff you shouldn’t be ๐Ÿ”ฅ but my neighbors was having a nice fire out back. A year ago, we had cloudy skies in the morning with more sun in the afternoon. The high last year was 42 degrees. The record high of 81 was set in 2016. 6.9 inches of snow fell back in 1961.โ„

In four weeks on April 5 the sun will be setting in the west (279ยฐ) at 7:26 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 32 minutes and 25 seconds later then tonight. In 2019 on that day, we had partly cloudy skies, rain showers and chilly temperatures between 42 and 25 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 54 and 33 degrees. Yes, you can still have winter in April. The record high of 82 degrees was set back in 1928.

Looking ahead, Ides of March โœ is in 1 week, Pink Moon ๐ŸŒ• is a month away, Palm Sunday ๐ŸŒด is in 4 weeks, Easter ๐Ÿฐ is in 5 weeks, Mothers Day ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€ is in 9 weeks, Pack Rat Day ๐Ÿ€ is in 10 weeks, Strawberry Moon ๐ŸŒ• is in 13 weeks and Fathers Day ๐Ÿ‘จ is in 14 weeks.

March 8, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Happy Daylight Savings Time ๐ŸŒ†! I hope you remembered to set your clock ahead one hour last night but not on Microsoft Windows which reminds you with a big note. ๐Ÿ“ Linux does it too but doesn’t make a big deal about it. Next Sunday is Ides of March โœ. We will already be halfway through March at that point. Partly cloudy and 24 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ›… Calm wind. Cold start to the morning but it’s expected to warm up quickly.

Today will be mostly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 57 degrees at 4pm. 16 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around April 12th. I like it when April weather comes a month early. Light and variable wind becoming west 5 to 9 mph in the morning. A year ago, we had cloudy skies in the morning with more sun in the afternoon. The high last year was 34 degrees. The record high of 68 was set in 2012. 6.5 inches of snow fell back in 2013.โ„

This morning I am meeting some people and going for a walk at the Albany Pine Bush Preserve. ๐ŸŒฒ๐ŸŒฒ๐ŸŒฒIt should be a really nice day. Later on I’ll probably go for a hike somewhere to be decided then out to the folks house for Sunday dinner. ๐Ÿฒ Maybe Thacher Park?๐Ÿ’ญ I haven’t been up way that in a while but some of trails might be really muddy. Tomorrow is going to be even nicer but alas me gotta work ๐Ÿ‘ท and make money ๐Ÿ’ต so I can enjoy the real nice weather when it happens. โ˜€

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 1:07 pm with sun having an altitude of 42.7ยฐ from the due south horizon (-28.1ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 6.5 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 6:17 pm with the sun in the west-southwest (258ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west (265ยฐ) starting at 6:51 pm and lasts for 2 minutes and 55 seconds with dusk around 7:22 pm, which is one minute and 12 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the Worm Full ๐ŸŒ Moon in the east (88ยฐ) at an altitude of 17ยฐ from the horizon, 227,384 miles away. ๐Ÿš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 7:55 pm. At sunset, look for mostly clear skies ๐ŸŒ„ and temperatures around 52 degrees. There will be a west-southwest breeze at 5 mph. Today will have 11 hours and 36 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 54 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be partly cloudy ๐ŸŒค, with a low of 34 degrees at 6am. 11 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around April 6th. South wind 3 to 7 mph. In 2019, we had clear skies in the evening, which became clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 12 degrees. The record low of -14 occurred back in 1943.

In 1965, Thirty-five hundred United States Marines are the first American land combat forces committed during the Vietnam War. ๐Ÿ’ฃ The escalation of the war was well underway at that point. It would last for another decade and was pretty tragic for all parties involved.

As previously noted, next Sunday is Ides of March โœ when the sun will be setting at 7:02 pm with dusk at 7:30 pm. On that day in 2019, we had partly sunny, but quite warm with rain showers and temperatures between 72 and 44 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 44 degrees. We hit a record high of 72 back in 2019.

 Typical winter 2016 afternoon

March 7, 2020 Night

Good evening! Mostly clear and 32 degrees in Delmar, NY. There is a west-northwest breeze at 7 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. Don’t forget to set your clocks back one hour. Things will start to thaw out at tomorrow around 8 am. ๐ŸŒก๏ธ

It was a good day, spent a lot of time in the woods walking ๐Ÿšถ, observing nature and so forth. Five Rivers in the morning, Schodack Island in the afternoon. My knees and leg have been a bit achy all day, in part from the cramp in the morning and also I think the Lyme disease ๐Ÿœ.

Went shopping and got most of the supplies that I needed. ๐Ÿ Probably too many – I shopped at Aldi and Walmart. I didn’t have enough reusable bags when I was in Walmart so I had to kind of overpack one of the bags. ๐Ÿ›„ I think the whole banning plastic bags is so silly but liberals like it. Honestly if when I move to a state with free plastic bags, I’ll be quite happy to use them again and chuck them in the burn barrel with the rest of the burnable trash. ๐Ÿ”ฅ Probably ventilated with a handgun ๐Ÿ”ซ that I wouldn’t need a permit for in a free state. ๐Ÿ†“

I don’t get the need for the plastic bag bans when they’re talking about developing vast areas of land for solar farms. โ—ปWith folks proposing 100 acre and even 1,000 acre solar farms what’s the big deal with sitting a 100 acre landfill that could provide disposal capacity for a region for a half century or more? ๐ŸšฎOH, and I took my junk mail and waste paper to the recycling dumpster at the Park and Ride. Greeny of the year. โ™ป LOL ๐Ÿ˜‚.

I washed Big Red. ๐Ÿš˜ Wasn’t super dirty but I wanted to get the mud off it and residual salt off it before it warms up. Filled up the gas tank โ›ฝ as gas has come down in price due to everybody’s silly fears of a Corona Recession. Democrats really want a recession so they can replace the president, although nobody serious seems to be advancing in the primary. ๐Ÿ›„

Tonight will be partly cloudy ๐ŸŒค, with a low of 19 degrees at 4am. Four degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around February 24th. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm after midnight. In 2019, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 7 degrees. The record low of -2 occurred back in 1989.

Tonight will have a nearly Full ๐ŸŒ Moon with 96% illuminated. I saw it rising around 5 pm at Schodack Island State Park. At 9 PM, the moon was in the southeast (129ยฐ) at an altitude of 55ยฐ from the horizon, some 228,683 miles away from where you are looking up from the earth. ๐Ÿš€ At the state speed limit of 55 mph, you’ll make it there by August 28th. Buckle up for safety! ๐Ÿ’บ The Worm ๐Ÿ› Moon is on Monday, March 9. The darkest hour is at 12:07 am, followed by dawn at 5:53 am, and sun starting to rise at 6:21 am in the east (96ยฐ) and last for 2 minutes and 55 seconds. Sunrise is one minute and 41 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 6:59 am with sun in the east-southeast (103ยฐ). Tonight will have 12 hours and 25 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 2 minutes and 55 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will be mostly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 57 degrees at 3pm. 16 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around April 12th. Calm wind becoming west 5 to 9 mph. Should be a nice day. Tempted to open some windows for fresh air in the morning. Definitely on Monday. A year ago, we had cloudy skies in the morning, which became light snow by afternoon. The high last year was 34 degrees. The record high of 68 was set in 2012. 6.5 inches of snow fell back in 2013.โ„

In four weeks on April 4 the sun will be setting in the west (279ยฐ) at 7:25 pm (Daylight Savings Time),๐ŸŒ„ which is one hour, 32 minutes and 28 seconds later then tonight. In 2019 on that day, we had mostly sunny and temperatures between 47 and 30 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 53 and 33 degrees. The record high of 79 degrees was set back in 1950.

Looking ahead, Average High is 50 ๐ŸŒธ is in 3 weeks, 7:30 PM Sunset ๐ŸŒ‡ is a month away, Average High is 60 ๐ŸŒผ is in 6 weeks, Flower Moon ๐ŸŒ• is in 2 months, Average High is 70 ๐Ÿฎ is in 10 weeks, Memorial Day Weekend Starts ๐Ÿ•๏ธ is in 11 weeks, Strawberry Moon ๐ŸŒ• is in 3 months, and Summer ๏ธโ›ฑ๏ธ is in 15 weeks.

 Center Square And Beyond

March 7, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Happy Saturday. Finally the weekend! Three weeks to Average High is 50 ๐ŸŒธ. Partly sunny and 30 degrees at the Five Rivers Environmental Education Center. There is a north-northwest breeze at 14 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. The current wind chill is 19. Nice morning but cold to start out the day with that wind. But I’m hoping for a warm up tomorrow that will last for a while. Things will start to thaw out at around 10 am. ๐ŸŒก๏ธ

Last night I woke up with a cramp in my leg. ๐Ÿ’ชI was real painful then but it went away. But I ended up not getting a real early start but I made it Five Rivers by nine. ๐ŸฆNot a lot of wildlife out on this rather chilly morning.

Today will be sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 41 degrees at 3pm. Typical for today. North wind 11 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph. A year ago, we had cloudy skies in the morning, which became light snow by afternoon. The high last year was 26 degrees. The record high of 62 was set in 1974. 10.3 inches of snow fell back in 1967.โ„

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:07 pm with sun having an altitude of 42.4ยฐ from the due south horizon (-28.5ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 6.6 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 5:16 pm with the sun in the west-southwest (258ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west (264ยฐ) starting at 5:50 pm and lasts for 2 minutes and 55 seconds with dusk around 6:21 pm, which is one minute and 12 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the Full ๐ŸŒ Moon in the east (93ยฐ) at an altitude of 30ยฐ from the horizon, 228,874 miles away. ๐Ÿš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 6:54 pm. At sunset, look for clear skies ๐ŸŒ„ and temperatures around 39 degrees. There will be a northwest breeze at 11 mph. Today will have 11 hours and 33 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 53 seconds over yesterday.

Today’s agenda is pretty standard. ๐Ÿšถ I’ll probably head home at noon ๐Ÿ•› go to Schodack Island in the afternoon, visit Aldis and wash my truck. ๐Ÿšฟ Also want to start unpacking and organizing my camping gear. โ›บ I doubt I’ll get out camping next week but I want to be ready when the weather comes. Also want to drop off the recycling paper ๐Ÿ“„ at the park and ride. ๐Ÿ…ฟ Soon I’ll need to take the cans and bottles to the transfer station. โ™ป And maybe get rid of some other junk. Although a lot of it is scrap metal.

Tonight will be partly cloudy ๐ŸŒค, with a low of 21 degrees at 4am. Two degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around March 3rd. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable in the evening. In 2019, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 7 degrees. The record low of -2 occurred back in 1989.

With the forecast for this week and shutting off the heat at my apartment. โ™จ Except for tonight the mercury is going to be well above freezing and with lots of sun to heat the building with radiation. โ˜€ It might be warm enough on Monday and Tuesday to open the windows for the day. Might be a bit chilly tomorrow morning but so be it.

Back in 1967, Bloody Sunday: a group of 600 civil rights marchers is brutally attacked by state and local police in Selma, Alabama. ๐Ÿ‘ฎ Things have changed a lot in America since then but too much remains the same.

๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒผOnly 12 days remain until the first day of calendar spring!๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒผ

As previously noted, there are 3 weeks until Average High is 50 ๐ŸŒธ when the sun will be setting at 7:17 pm with dusk at 7:45 pm (Daylight Savings Time). On that day in 2019, we had partly cloudy and temperatures between 55 and 33 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 50 degrees. We hit a record high of 85 back in 1945.
