April 10, 2020 10 PM Update

Good evening! Cloudy, still somewhat blustery. and 39 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ„ Breezy, ๏ธ20 mph breeze from the west-northwest ๐ŸŒฌ with gusts up to 32 mph ๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ’จ. It was a bit cold on the evening walk ๐Ÿšถ although it seems like the wind is dying down. Temperatures will drop below freezing at around 1 am. โ˜ƒ๏ธ

Tonight will have a slight chance of rain and snow showers before 1am. Mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 34 degrees at 3am. Two degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around April 7th. Breezy, with a west wind 11 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. In 2019, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became partly cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 29 degrees. The record low of 20 occurred back in 1874.

Not a real productive day, ๐Ÿ“fixed some issues on the blog and rode the exercise bike ๐Ÿšฒ for a while. Been having some issues with one of the pedals, I might have to figure a creative way to fix it going forward. While the mercury wasn’t super low – it was in the forties most of the day – that wind was intense. Roared most of the day and it made it raw outside.

Finally made that cherry ๐Ÿ’ pie I’ve been literally telling myself to make for a decade. Came out fairly good. The main thing parishible was the refrigerated crust I bought a few weeks back so the canned cherries were fine from a decade ago. Had cornbread waffles for breakfast and pasta for a late lunch. Skipped dinner.

While we had some sun โ˜€ for a while I’m glad I stayed home and in town. It would have been pretty darn cold up north and gear would be flapping around with the trees swaying and branches falling down. ๐ŸŒฒ๐ŸŒฒ A big branch came down and hit the window and the apartment with a large crack midday but fortunately the window wasn’t damaged. Probably would be hard to maintain a safe fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ with the wind. I’m sure there will be better weather to come.

Tonight will have a Waining Gibbous ๐ŸŒ– Moon with 87% illuminated. The moon will rise at 10:51 pm. The Pink ๐ŸŒธ Moon is on Sunday, April 26. The darkest hour is at 12:57 am, followed by dawn at 5:53 am, and sun starting to rise at 6:22 am in the east-northeast (78ยฐ) and last for 2 minutes and 57 seconds. Sunrise is one minute and 40 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 7:00 am with sun in the east (85ยฐ). Tonight will have 10 hours and 47 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 2 minutes and 47 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will be mostly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 51 degrees at 3pm. Five degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around March 31st. Breezy, with a west wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph. A year ago, we had cloudy skies in the morning with a few breaks of sun the afternoon. The high last year was 50 degrees. The record high of 87 was set in 2017. 1.7 inches of snow fell back in 1942.โ„

I was planning on going down to Schodack Island tomorrow ๐Ÿšถ ๐Ÿฆ but something came up and plans changed. I might instead stop by the library in the morning and get the blog update uploaded.

In four weeks on May 8 the sun will be setting in the west-northwest (295ยฐ) at 8:03 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 31 minutes and 37 seconds later then tonight. In 2019 on that day, we had mostly sunny and temperatures between 67 and 44 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 67 and 45 degrees. The record high of 91 degrees was set back in 1936.

Looking ahead, May ๐Ÿ•Š is in 3 weeks, Mothers Day ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€ is a month away and 8:30 PM Sunset ๏ธโ›ฑ๏ธ is in 8 weeks.

April 9, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Happy Thursday. Tomorrow is Good Friday. โž• Four weeks to Flower Moon ๐ŸŒ•. Rain showers and 46 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜” There is a south-southeast breeze at 11 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. Damp and wet but certainly not pouring. Temperatures will drop below freezing at Sunday around 2 am. โ˜ƒ๏ธ

Today will have showers and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly before 4pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4pm. ๐ŸŒฆ High of 51 degrees at 2pm. Two degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around April 4th. Maximum dew point of 43 at 11am. ๐Ÿ–๏ธ South wind 11 to 17 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning with a few breaks of sun the afternoon. With the rain and wind, it will feel pretty cold. But maybe clearing up late. The high last year was 65 degrees. The record high of 77 was set in 1991. 13.3 inches of snow fell back in 2000.โ„

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:57 pm with sun having an altitude of 55.2ยฐ from the due south horizon (-15.6ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 4.2 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 6:53 pm with the sun in the west (275ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-northwest (282ยฐ) starting at 7:28 pm and lasts for 2 minutes and 57 seconds with dusk around 7:59 pm, which is one minute and 9 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ The best time to look at the stars is after 8:35 pm. At sunset, look for rain ๐ŸŒง and temperatures around 46 degrees. Breezy, 24 mph breeze โ›… from the west with gusts up to 45mph. Today will have 13 hours and 8 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 50 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have a slight chance of rain showers before 3am, then a chance of rain and snow showers. Partly cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 34 degrees at 3am. One degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around April 7th. Breezy, with a west wind 16 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Little or no snow accumulation expected. In 2019, we had cloudy skies. It got down to 32 degrees. The record low of 21 occurred back in 1974.

Blustery and a bit cool but sunny this Easter Weekend on we get past Good Friday. โ˜€ Saturday, mostly sunny, with a high near 48. West wind 15 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. Sunday, partly sunny, with a high near 59. Typical average high for the weekend is 56 degrees.

I am not convinced this will be a very good weekend โ˜€ despite the sun on Saturday. But I’m watching and thinking ๐Ÿ’ญ about my options carefully. It is a three day weekend so I do have a few different options but hopefully it won’t be too cold and nasty. Plus who knows how much snow they’ll have up north today.

Looking ahead, there are 4 weeks until Flower Moon ๐ŸŒ• when the sun will be setting at 8:02 pm with dusk at 8:34 pm. On that day in 2019, we had partly cloudy, rain showers and temperatures between 66 and 49 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 67 degrees. We hit a record high of 92 back in 1930.

April 8, 2020 Night

Good evening! Partly cloudy and 53 degrees in Delmar, NY. ๐ŸŒƒ There is a west-northwest breeze at 7 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. Enjoy the nice evening, not expected to last. More rain tomorrow. Temperatures will drop below freezing at Saturday around 4 am. โ˜ƒ๏ธ

Today wasn’t a half bad day, ๐Ÿ˜Šbusy at work but unfortunately not a real nice day for working outside so I stayed home and worked on my work computer. ๐Ÿ’ป As I only do work on that machine I’m much more productive, not checking my personal email ๐Ÿ“ง or social media. After work, I walked down to the town park ๐Ÿšถ and got some podcasts. ๐ŸŽง I am watching some videos I downloaded the other day. It did clear out for a while today and I thought about driving out to Five Rivers ๐Ÿธ to work on the wifi. But it was probably much more productive working from home. Hot Meatball sandwich for lunch, hot dogs and beans with cheese for dinner. ๐ŸฑNot really adventurous cooking today. ๐Ÿฒ Yesterday’s tuna fish melt was really good though. ๐Ÿ

While it was a pretty nice evening I decided after my walk ๐Ÿšถ to lay in bed and catch up on some of the YouTube videos I downloaded yesterday while I was working at Five Rivers. ๐ŸŽฅ Farmers are busy with prepping fields this time of year, ๐Ÿšœ they’ve moved beyond counting the hundreds of loads of manure ๐Ÿ’ฉ they’ve hauled over the winter that’s come and gone. ๐ŸŒพThings are starting to green up in the valley now, the average low is about 35 at this point and nights below freezing are becoming rare. Even in the upland, spring is coming.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฅ, with a low of 40 degrees at 4am. Five degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around April 22nd. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming south after midnight. In 2019, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 41 degrees. The record low of 16 occurred back in 1977.

Been working on growing out my side burns during the quarantine. ๐Ÿ™Š While my hairy face isn’t quite a secret with all the zoom meetings I’ve been participating in ๐Ÿ“น, truth be told everybody is getting long and shaggy so I might as well join in the fun and try something different. ๐Ÿ’ˆ I haven’t gotten rid of the goatee I have but I might. Good to try something new and fool all the facial recognition cameras on the street. โ˜บ๐ŸŽฅ It’s creepy enough that the politicians are monitoring people’s cellphone pings and using it to pronounce if people are doing enough social distancing. Honestly if I plan to travel I’ll just pull my cellphone ๐Ÿ“ฑ battery. Stop those creeps in government from judging my pings. ๐Ÿ“

Tonight will have a Waining Gibbous ๐ŸŒ– Moon with 98% illuminated. The moon is quite bright ๐Ÿ”† tonight. The Pink ๐ŸŒธ Moon is on Friday, April 24. The darkest hour is at 12:58 am, followed by dawn at 5:57 am, and sun starting to rise at 6:26 am in the east (79ยฐ) and last for 2 minutes and 57 seconds. Sunrise is one minute and 42 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 7:03 am with sun in the east (86ยฐ). Tonight will have 10 hours and 52 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 2 minutes and 49 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will have showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 3pm, then showers likely. ๐ŸŒฆ High of 52 degrees at 1pm. Three degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around April 2nd. Maximum dew point of 44 at 11am. ๐Ÿ–๏ธ Breezy, with a south wind 14 to 21 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 34 mph. Going to be wet and windy but not too cold. But definitely a work from home day I think. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible. I know some other models say it will be colder. A year ago, we had cloudy skies in the morning with more sun in the afternoon. The high last year was 65 degrees. The record high of 77 was set in 1991. 13.3 inches of snow fell back in 2000.โ„

So one model says the upper elevations may get several inches of snow โ„ tomorrow into Good Friday, while others call for cold and cloudy weather for the weekend. Yet others call for all rain โ˜” event with more sun โ˜€ and not as cold this weekend. I don’t know about this weekend. I may or may not have plans, I don’t know. I actually have three different scenarios, maybe four – it depends a lot. โ›บ ๐Ÿ”ฅ ๐Ÿšถ ๐ŸŽฃ ๐Ÿ”ซ โ“โ”โ“โ”I have to remember that Sunday is Easter ๐Ÿฐ so I can’t plan on going shopping on Sunday. ๐Ÿ Regardless, I plan on practicing social distancing, ๐Ÿ‘คalthough if I stay in town I might join my neighbors six feet away next to their fire pit. ๐Ÿ”ฅ I’ll have to buy some beer ๐Ÿป.

In four weeks on May 6 the sun will be setting in the west-northwest (294ยฐ) at 8:01 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 31 minutes and 42 seconds later then tonight. Seems both oddly close and far away at same time. Hopefully by then things will be return back to normal. In 2019 on that day, we had partly sunny, patches of fog and temperatures between 74 and 53 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 67 and 44 degrees. The record high of 89 degrees was set back in 1930.

Looking ahead, Earth Day ๐ŸŒŽ is in 2 weeks, Latest Sunset ๐ŸŒ† is in 11 weeks and Inauguration Day 2021 ๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿป is in 41 weeks.

North

April 8, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Happy Pink Moon ๐ŸŒ•! I don’t see much sign of last night in the clouds and I’ll doubt we’ll see it tonight. Next Wednesday is Tax Day ๐Ÿ’ฐ. I got fix something on one of my tax forms if I can get the state tax department website to work.

Not a real nice day compared to yesterday but better than the forecast for tomorrow. Clouds and 46 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜” There is a north breeze at 5 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. Temperatures will drop below freezing at Sunday around 1 am. โ˜ƒ๏ธ

That said the queche I made today was pretty good ๐Ÿณ although probably not the healthiest using corned beef hash โ™ฏ with lots of veggies and peppers. I’m trying to come up with more meal ideas ๐Ÿ˜, I’m tired of the same things everyday.

Things are kind of wet and gray this morning, ๐Ÿ’ฆ it rained for a while this morning and I’m not encouraged to think it’s going to be a real nice day. I have my work laptop and will just work from my bedroom today as much as I really resent bringing work into my home. That said, I’ve figured out how to build a nice set with lights and my pride flag for Zoom meetings at work ๐Ÿ‘ฅ. I expect a busy day today as I continue to work on the report for work – ๐Ÿ“ it’s good to start getting back into the routine of things.

I woke up this morning and felt kind of sick with a sore throat and nose ๐Ÿ‘ƒ bothering me but the magic Claradin D pill ๐Ÿ’Š helped me feel better. As did the queche. ๐Ÿณ I think it’s a mold allergy working from home but I don’t know, it seems to get worse when I’m home all day. I doubt it’s COVID 19, as I have no fever and it’s been going on going for four weeks now. That said I do look forward to things getting back to normal sooner than later. ๐ŸŒˆ

Today will have a slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฆ, with a high of 57 degrees at 3pm. Two degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around April 12th. North wind 3 to 5 mph. At least it’s fairly mild for one more day. Chance of precipitation is 20%. A year ago, we had cloudy skies in the morning with more sun in the afternoon. The high last year was 59 degrees. The record high of 88 was set in 1929. 4.5 inches of snow fell back in 1907.โ„

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:58 pm with sun having an altitude of 54.8ยฐ from the due south horizon (-16ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 4.2 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 6:52 pm with the sun in the west (275ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west (281ยฐ) starting at 7:27 pm and lasts for 2 minutes and 57 seconds with dusk around 7:58 pm, which is one minute and 8 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ The best time to look at the stars is after 8:33 pm. At sunset, look for partly cloudy skies ๐ŸŒƒ and temperatures around 55 degrees. There will be a northwest breeze at 5 mph. Today will have 13 hours and 5 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 49 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฅ, with a low of 43 degrees at 3am. Eight degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around May 1st. Light and variable wind. In 2019, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 41 degrees. The record low of 16 occurred back in 1977.

The long Easter Weekend forecast is trending nicer again. ๐Ÿฐ Saturday, mostly sunny, with a high near 50. Easter, mostly sunny, with a high near 57. Typical average high for the weekend is 56 degrees. Might actually be able to get out, get some fresh air for a while away from it all. I want to get gas and a few supplies tomorrow after work for the weekend. โ›ฝ

As previously noted, there are 2 weeks until Earth Day ๐ŸŒŽ when the sun will be setting at 7:45 pm with dusk at 8:15 pm. On that day in 2019, we had partly sunny, warm and temperatures between 74 and 51 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 61 degrees. We hit a record high of 86 back in 1985.

 NY 8

April 7, 2020 Night

Good evening! Cloudy with rain showers and 55 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜” Calm wind. No full moon visible tonight. ๐ŸŒ• Except maybe on Facebook. Neighbors had a fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ, I joined them for a while out back. We sat six feet apart. ๐Ÿ‘ช Nice night. Temperatures will drop below freezing at Sunday around 2 am. โ˜ƒ๏ธ

Tonight will have showers likely, mainly after 2am. Cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 43 degrees at 4am. Eight degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around May 1st. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. In 2019, we had cloudy skies. It got down to 44 degrees. The record low of 19 occurred back in 2018.

Tonight will have the Worm Full ๐ŸŒ• Mokn. At 10 PM, the moon was in the southeast (124ยฐ) at an altitude of 28ยฐ from the horizon, some 226,471 miles away from where you are looking up from the earth. ๐Ÿš€ But you can’t see it with the clouds. At the state speed limit of 55 mph, you’ll make it there by September 26th. Buckle up for safety! ๐Ÿ’บ The Pink ๐ŸŒธ Moon is on Thursday, April 23. The darkest hour is at 12:58 am, followed by dawn at 5:58 am, and sun starting to rise at 6:27 am in the east (80ยฐ) and last for 2 minutes and 57 seconds. Sunrise is one minute and 42 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 7:05 am with sun in the east (86ยฐ). Tonight will have 10 hours and 55 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 2 minutes and 50 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will have a chance of showers, mainly before 10am. Mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฆ, with a high of 56 degrees at 4pm. One degree above normal, which is similar to a typical day around April 10th. Light north wind. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. The high last year was 59 degrees. The record high of 88 was set in 1929. 4.5 inches of snow fell back in 1907.โ„

The latest weekend forecast looks rather stormy and cold ๐Ÿ’จso I’m not sure if I’m going to make any plans. I heard they might even get some snow up north. โ„ I was kind of hoping for an early spring. That said I could see hiking down by the Hudson River, maybe doing some fishing ๐ŸŽฃ and getting groceries at Aldi’s. I was realizing how much more you spend for lower quality food at Hannaford compared to Aldi – and heck they don’t even have people that check out your grocery at Hannaford unless you waiting in line for a while. ๐Ÿ

In four weeks on May 5 the sun will be setting in the west-northwest (293ยฐ) at 8:00 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 31 minutes and 43 seconds later then tonight. In 2019 on that day, we had rain showers, partly cloudy and temperatures between 58 and 52 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 66 and 44 degrees. The record high of 91 degrees was set back in 1944.

Thirty weeks until the presidential election.โ˜‘ Have you decided who you are going to vote for yet? I haven’t, I can see pros and cons to each candidate. I think certainly Biden would be better from a perspective on climate change, urban policy, criminal justice, and economic issues. ๐ŸซTrump is better on the second amendment and limiting the size and scope of government. Then there are the options with the third parties.๐Ÿ’ญ Lots of options to consider going forward.

Looking ahead, Cinco de Mayo ๐Ÿค  is in 4 weeks, Flower Moon ๐ŸŒ• is a month away, Strawberry Moon ๐ŸŒ• is in 2 months, Primary Day ๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ is in 11 weeks, and Election Day 2020 ๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ is in 30 weeks.

Above the Ravine

April 7, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Today the 7:30 PM Sunset Returns ๐ŸŒ‡. Really digging the nicer weather. Four weeks to Cinco de Mayo ๐Ÿค . You know a good day to drink Corona and eat burritos, that is up in the wilderness. ๐Ÿป Hopefully by then the brewery will be open again in ol Me-xico. Partly cloudy and 44 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ›… Calm wind. Nice day.

Today will be mostly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 62 degrees at 3pm. Seven degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around April 23rd. Light west wind increasing to 6 to 11 mph in the morning. Very low humidity, so dry skin expected. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. The high last year was 68 degrees. The record high of 87 was set in 2010. 3.2 inches of snow fell back in 1896.โ„

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:58 pm with sun having an altitude of 54.4ยฐ from the due south horizon (-16.4ยฐ vs. 6/21). Do I have plans for the weekend? ๐Ÿฐ Only time will tell. I might I might not. But I plan to practice social distancing as all the good fishing ๐ŸŽฃ spots are at least six feet away plus I want to do some target practice ๐Ÿ”ซ and maybe listen to some music ๐ŸŽถ up at camp. โ›บ But plans could change.

Looking ahead, there are 4 weeks until Cinco de Mayo ๐Ÿค  when the sun will be setting at 8:00 pm with dusk at 8:31 pm. On that day in 2019, we had rain showers, partly cloudy and temperatures between 58 and 52 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 66 degrees. We hit a record high of 91 back in 1944.

 Mudding

April 6, 2020 Night

Good evening! Partly clear and 52 degrees in Delmar, NY. There is a west-northwest breeze at 10 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. I don’t know with that breeze it feels fairly cool. I was sitting out back but I might retire to bed inside fairly soon as it’s getting cold outside. It’s by no means a summer night, but usually those are either super muggy or cold or I have to go to work bright and early the next day. ๐Ÿ”† Been a very low humidity day, kind of blustery but at least the ground is wet from all the rain we’ve had lately.

All and all not a bad day. Got my wash done ๐Ÿ‘•๐Ÿ‘–and bought groceries ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ„๐ŸŒฝ. Nice to have good clean sheets as they were starting to smell a little bit. Hands ๐Ÿ‘are really dry from all the rubbing alcohol I’ve been putting on them to sanitize them after going into business. Bought milk ๐Ÿฎ, went for my evening walk down to the park ๐Ÿšถ, and did some walking around at Five Rivers after working there in the afternoon on the Wi-Fi. ๐Ÿ’ป

Tonight will be mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฅ, with a low of 39 degrees at 5am. Five degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around April 19th. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light after midnight. I closed the windows but no need for heat tonight. In 2019, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 34 degrees. The record low of 13 occurred back in 1982.

Tonight is the Full ๐ŸŒ Moon with 98% illuminated. At 9 PM, the moon was in the east-southeast (118ยฐ) at an altitude of 32ยฐ from the horizon, some 226,318 miles away from where you are looking up from the earth. ๐Ÿš€Fairly bright out but the moon’s altitude is lower than some night’s recently so there are a lot of shadows. At the state speed limit of 55 mph, you’ll make it there by September 25th. Buckle up for safety! ๐Ÿ’บ The Pink ๐ŸŒธ Moon is on Tuesday, April 7. The darkest hour is at 12:58 am, followed by dawn at 6:00 am, and sun starting to rise at 6:29 am in the east (80ยฐ) and last for 2 minutes and 56 seconds. Sunrise is one minute and 43 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 7:06 am with sun in the east (87ยฐ). Tonight will have 10 hours and 58 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 2 minutes and 49 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will be mostly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 63 degrees at 3pm. Eight degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around April 25th. Going to be one more real nice day until two days of rain than cold weather for the long weekend. West wind 5 to 10 mph. A year ago, we had cloudy skies in the morning with more sun in the afternoon. The high last year was 68 degrees. Warmer last year. The record high of 87 was set in 2010. 3.2 inches of snow fell back in 1896.โ„ Winter is almost done but no guarantees that we won’t have one more big one.

In four weeks on May 4 the sun will be setting in the west-northwest (293ยฐ) at 7:59 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 31 minutes and 46 seconds later then tonight. In 2019 on that day, we had mostly cloudy, rain showers and temperatures between 67 and 52 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 66 and 44 degrees. The record high of 91 degrees was set back in 1944.

Which is fine that four weeks from now we will be in the meet of May ๐ŸŒธ and things will be really green but I find it hard to accept that seven weeks from now will be Memorial Day and we will be in the prime of Black Fly Season. I really should start doing some more research on picnic table tents ๐ŸŽช as I want to get one before Memorial Day Weekend. Also if I decide to camp at Rennselearville State Forest I should inquire about getting a permit with the forest ranger. ๐ŸŽซ

Some how with everything shut down and meetings so screwed up from Coronavirus ๐Ÿ‘พ time flies by so quickly. Maybe it’s just that I want things to get back to normal so I’m kind of letting the clock ๐Ÿ•’ slide by quickly in hopes that all the usual activities will take place by summer. It would kind of suck if all the state park pools were closed this summer. ๐ŸŠ It’s a lot of fun swimming out at Mine Kill State Park, for example. I bet with state budget cuts though that their won’t be a lot of maintenance or investment in the state parks or DEC lands in the coming year.

Looking ahead, Arbor Day ๐ŸŒณ is in 3 weeks, 8 PM Sunset ๐ŸŒ‡ is in 4 weeks, Flower Moon ๐ŸŒ• is in 6 weeks, Memorial Day ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ is in 7 weeks, June ๐Ÿน is in 8 weeks and Average High is 80 ๐Ÿ– is in 11 weeks.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿฆ…Only 45 days remain until the start of Memorial Day Weekend!๐Ÿฆ…๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ
