April 6, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Monday’s come back around again. Back to work from home. It in my case the library and Five Rivers. I expect to be a lot busier this week. ๐Ÿ’ผ Three weeks to Arbor Day ๐ŸŒณ. Mostly sunny and 50 degrees in Delmar, NY. There is a northwest breeze at 7 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. You might say it’s a pretty pleasant day and it’s going to be quite nice later on. I am going to try to work outside as much as possible — either in my backyard or later on at Five Rivers. After work I’ll go for a nice walk. Hopefully the ground won’t be too wet as my boots are kind of leaky and the new ones have yet to ship.๐Ÿ‘ข

This morning I plan to go to the grocery store ๐Ÿ› and fill up my pantry. Just Hannaford today. Plus go to the laundromat. I can probably start my day using the laptop ๐Ÿ’ป and later on go home and work from home until lunchtime and then go out to Five Rivers to work in the afternoon shift, where I will have unlimited library internet and I won’t have to pay for electricity, as the solar well will be doing all of the work.

Today will be sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 62 degrees at 3pm. Eight degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around April 23rd. Northwest wind 7 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. A year ago, we had cloudy skies in the morning with more sun in the afternoon. The high last year was 59 degrees. The record high of 82 was set in 1921. 17.3 inches of snow fell back in 1982.โ„

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:58 pm with sun having an altitude of 54.1ยฐ from the due south horizon (-16.8ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 4.3 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 6:50 pm with the sun in the west (274ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west (280ยฐ) starting at 7:25 pm and lasts for 2 minutes and 57 seconds with dusk around 7:56 pm, which is one minute and 8 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the Worm Full ๐ŸŒ Moon in the east-southeast (106ยฐ) at an altitude of 21ยฐ from the horizon, 226,328 miles away. ๐Ÿš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 8:31 pm. At sunset, look for mostly clear skies ๐ŸŒ„ and temperatures around 55 degrees. There will be a west-northwest breeze at 11 mph. Should be a great moon lit night, not too cold. Kind of wish I had a case of beer to drink out back. ๐Ÿป Like some nice cold Carona with lime. Maybe for the weekend? Today will have 12 hours and 59 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 51 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be partly cloudy ๐ŸŒค, with a low of 36 degrees at 5am. Two degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around April 11th. West wind 5 to 9 mph becoming light after midnight. In 2019, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 34 degrees. The record low of 13 occurred back in 1982.

I activated the new blog theme for now, but I might have to pull it down if I find further bugs. The mobile version needs some work, but I will work with what I have for now, โœ and make improvements on an ongoing basis. We will see. So far I’m happy with the new version but it’s quick enough switch back. I really like the full screen photos but I know the style sheet needs to be reworked for mobile ๐Ÿ“ฑ devices.

Right now, a split verdict on the weekend. ๐Ÿ˜• Saturday, partly sunny, with a high near 50. Easter, a chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 55. Chance of precipitation is 30%. ๐Ÿฐ Typical average high for the weekend is 56 degrees.

The long weekend sounds nice but cool for April ๐Ÿƒ but it doesn’t seem like much snow is left – and cold for April is a relative thing – it means the weather will feel more like early November weather then early spring. โ›บ If I were to camp, definitely would bring the heater but probably not pitch the tent for hot tenting. Long sleeve weather and the vest as nights would probably drop down into the twenties. Most of April looks that way – it seems like in recent years that April has been quite cool following mild winters. โ›„ We could still get another snow storm but at this point I think it’s unlikely. Of course, staying home ๐Ÿก would save money ๐Ÿ’ต and make the internet trolls happy. ๐Ÿ‘ผ I’ve blocked most of them on Facebook.

That meme I shared on Facebook and the blog about wearing preg testing gloves to pump gas โ›ฝ really kind of cracked me up. ๐Ÿฎ I bet for plastic gloves they aren’t that cheap. But I guess it’s more sanitary for the cow if your going to ram your hand up their anus to feel if they have a baby ๐Ÿ‘ถ to wear a glove. I’m sure the real old time cowboys never did.

As previously noted, there are 3 weeks until Arbor Day ๐ŸŒณ when the sun will be setting at 7:51 pm with dusk at 8:21 pm. On that day in 2019, we had rain showers, partly cloudy and temperatures between 50 and 40 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 63 degrees. We hit a record high of 91 back in 1962. Late April doesn’t seem that far away but to think May is just around the corner is a bit more shocking in my book ๐Ÿ“™.

Farm Along Ostelic River

April 5, 2020 Night

Good evening! Partly cloudy and 52 degrees in Delmar, NY. ๐ŸŒƒ There is a west-northwest breeze at 8 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. The dew point is 42 degrees. The skies will clear around 9 pm.

A fairly nice night ๐ŸŒƒ after a rather cloudy day. โ˜ Walked down to the park for a while ๐Ÿšถ and got podcasts. Made dozens of improvements to the inside of the blog, a few more maps ๐ŸŒand the new theme ready to launch tomorrow if all goes well. I think it’s going to be quite pretty and better tell my story. Did some cleaning in the kitchen, painted my phone case and rode the exercise bike for a while. Truth be told, the morning was awful quiet as I had a bad hang over ๐Ÿ˜– after drinking too much of that Christmas ale ๐Ÿป last night. Finished it off today. It was in a growler so it’s not like I could store it once opened. Had no choice but to drink it quickly. But maybe I should have drank more water after hiking yesterday.

Tonight will be partly cloudy ๐ŸŒค, with a low of 39 degrees at 6am. Five degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around April 19th. Northwest wind 7 to 9 mph. In 2019, we had light rain in the evening, which became cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 35 degrees. The record low of 14 occurred back in 1943.

Tonight will have a Waxing Gibbous ๐ŸŒ Moon with 94% illuminated. At 9 PM, the moon was in the southeast (126ยฐ) at an altitude of 44ยฐ from the horizon, some 226,856 miles away from where you are looking up from the earth. ๐Ÿš€ At the state speed limit of 55 mph, you’ll make it there by September 24th. Buckle up for safety! ๐Ÿ’บ The Pink ๐ŸŒธ Moon is on Tuesday, April 7. The darkest hour is at 12:59 am, followed by dawn at 6:02 am, and sun starting to rise at 6:31 am in the east (81ยฐ) and last for 2 minutes and 56 seconds. Sunrise is one minute and 42 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 7:08 am with sun in the east (87ยฐ). Tonight will have 11 hours and one minute of darkness, a decrease of 2 minutes and 52 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will be sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 64 degrees at 4pm. 10 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around April 28th. Northwest wind 7 to 13 mph. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning, which became snow by afternoon. The high last year was 59 degrees. The record high of 82 was set in 1921. 17.3 inches of snow fell back in 1982.โ„

Tomorrow I plan to get an early start and go to the laundromat and grocery store before work. ๐Ÿ‘š I figure go early and their won’t be any crowds and I get the supplied I need without them hopefully being too low. I can always work from my truck at the laundromat if the nine o’clock hour rolls around before I’m done. Before that all, I’ll need to get to Stewart’s and get milk and eggs ๐Ÿณ boy just for breakfast but so I can pay with cash ๐Ÿ’ต and break the $20 for the laundromat.

In four weeks on May 3 the sun will be setting in the west-northwest (293ยฐ) at 7:58 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 31 minutes and 47 seconds later then tonight. In 2019 on that day, we had rain showers, cloudy and temperatures between 62 and 49 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 66 and 43 degrees. The record high of 89 degrees was set back in 2001.

Looking ahead, Easter ๐Ÿฐ is in 1 weeks, Cinco de Mayo ๐Ÿค  is a month away, Mothers Day ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€ is in 5 weeks, Pack Rat Day ๐Ÿ€ is in 6 weeks, 8:30 PM Sunset ๏ธโ›ฑ๏ธ is in 2 months, Strawberry Moon ๐ŸŒ• is in 9 weeks and Fathers Day ๐Ÿ‘จ is in 10 weeks.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿฆ…Only 46 days remain until the start of Memorial Day Weekend!๐Ÿฆ…๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Tree line and Sky

April 5, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Happy Palm Sunday ๐ŸŒด! Not sure if many churches โ›ช will be giving out palms except for a drive through. Next Sunday is Easter ๐Ÿฐ. That usually is the weekend after Palm Sunday. Overcast and 49 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜ Calm wind. The skies will clear around 9 pm.

I woke up this morning feeling pretty sick. ๐Ÿป Beer virus of course! That Christmas ๐ŸŽ„ Ale that I finally broke open was pretty strong and a bit hoppy. Stronger than that horse ๐Ÿด piss beer I normally drink although honestly I rarely drink much these days as I’m usually broke. But it was nice sitting out back yesterday evening and it should be nice with the windows open again today.

Today will be scattered showers, mainly after 2pm. Mostly cloudy โ˜, with a high of 61 degrees at 2pm. Seven degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around April 20th. Maximum dew point of 47 at 2pm. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning, which became snow by afternoon. The high last year was 42 degrees. The record high of 82 was set in 1928. 2.1 inches of snow fell back in 2019.โ„

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:59 pm with sun having an altitude of 53.7ยฐ from the due south horizon (-17.1ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 4.4 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 6:49 pm with the sun in the west (273ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west (280ยฐ) starting at 7:24 pm and lasts for 2 minutes and 56 seconds with dusk around 7:55 pm, which is one minute and 9 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the Waxing Gibbous a๐ŸŒ Moon in the east-southeast (111ยฐ) at an altitude of 34ยฐ from the horizon, 226,895 miles away. ๐Ÿš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 8:29 pm. At sunset, look for clouds โ˜and temperatures around 55 degrees. The dew point will be 46 degrees. There will be a west-northwest breeze at 6 mph. Today will have 12 hours and 57 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 51 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have isolated showers before 10pm. Mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 39 degrees at 5am. Five degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around April 19th. Northwest wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. In 2019, we had light rain in the evening, which became cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 35 degrees. The record low of 14 occurred back in 1943.

Opal Pond

April 4, 2020 Night

Good evening! Mostly cloudy and 53 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜ Calm wind. The dew point is 43 degrees. The skies will clear tomorrow around 10 pm.

It’s a nice evening, sitting out in the bed of my truck after the evening walk ๐Ÿšถ. I opened the container of Christmas ale ๐Ÿป that I got at Christmas and it’s good and 9 percent alcohol. I won’t need a sleeping pill ๐Ÿ’Š tonight after two good size mug fulls. First alcohol I’ve had since my birthday ๐ŸŽ‚ .

It turned out to be a lot more sunny โ›… and nice day then previously predicted. Walked about ten miles at Partridge Run. Started at Bradt Hollow Road and Beaver Road to Sickle Hill Road to High Point Road to the Long Path past the big swamp to a snowmobile trail that runs southerly to a clearing that runs along the property line up to Cook Hill and the newer part of Partridge Run Game Management Area then bushwhacked down to a stream and deep Ravine to Cook Hill Road to Bradt Hollow Road than took the gated southerly section that goes back to field that overlooks a hollow, North Hill in Rensselaerville and the Catskills. I also tried bushwhacking back to a large pond – actually a swamp back that way and I spotted several geese and wood duck. ๐Ÿœ Fortunately didn’t find any ticks on me when I got home but I did find one crawling on me when I was hiking.

At the end of the day I was thinking it would be a nice night to camp โ›บ overnight but I didn’t bring any food with me and had eaten my lunch already and it was getting dark. Plus I knew tonight would be a fairly cool and long night. But I was tempted to just get my hammock out, swing by one of the nearby state forests, grab some blankets and hoodie, start a small fire, ๐Ÿ”ฅ put on some music ๐ŸŽถ and then in a few hours all it a night in the hammock. But I knew by morning that I’d awake and be cold and have to try getting back to sleep ๐Ÿ˜ด until daybreak. It’s still early April and while the low in Albany is 45 degrees, it would be a fair bit colder done morning. I haven’t hung out in the hammock since autumn, I wouldn’t mind breaking it out for a good nap in the woods, especially when it gets a bit warmer, agree all two weeks until the average day is in the sixties. It’s actually a bit surprising how do far this year we haven’t had any real warm days. Maybe during the long weekend. Certainly there are some state forests in the western part of Albany County that are good for hammock camping.

Tonight will have a slight chance of showers between 11pm and midnight. Mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 43 degrees at 6am. 10 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around May 1st. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 20%. In 2019, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 25 degrees. The record low of 14 occurred back in 2016.

Tonight will have a Waxing Gibbons Moon with 88% illuminated. At 10 PM, the moon was in the south-southeast (162ยฐ) at an altitude of 60ยฐ from the horizon, some 227,975 miles away from where you are looking up from the earth. ๐Ÿš€ At the state speed limit of 55 mph, you’ll make it there by September 24th. Buckle up for safety! ๐Ÿ’บ Ursa pretty bright moon lit night. The Pink ๐ŸŒธ Moon is on Tuesday, April 7. The darkest hour is at 12:59 am, followed by dawn at 6:04 am, and sun starting to rise at 6:32 am in the east (81ยฐ) and last for 2 minutes and 56 seconds. Sunrise is one minute and 43 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 7:10 am with sun in the east (88ยฐ). Tonight will have 11 hours and 4 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 2 minutes and 50 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will have a chance of showers, mainly after 4pm. Mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฆ, with a high of 60 degrees at 3pm. Six degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around April 18th. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. The high last year was 42 degrees. The record high of 82 was set in 1928. 2.1 inches of snow fell back in 2019.โ„

Maybe tomorrow will turn out relatively nice like today. โ›… That said no big plans for tomorrow, just early to the laundromat and get groceries than back home. Maybe go for a walk around town, we will see or down to the park โ›ฒ. That said, between the ticks on the grass and the possibility of picking up COVID-19 from the park bench, it will be more of a walk ๐Ÿšถ there to get podcast than an extended stay. I do want to try to get the revised blog theme done and some fixes to my photo upload code.

Monday looks quite nice, ๐Ÿ˜Ž I plan to do my morning shift from my backyard and then go out to Five Rivers Environmental Education Center to save bandwidth on my employers network card and be able to use my personal laptop for downloading videos and maybe activating the new blog theme.

No certain plans for the long weekend ๐Ÿฐbut truth be told I have some ideas. Nothing in stone yet but I’m watching the forecast and if things suck Thursday night I might leave early on Good Friday. To be safe I’ll get gas and all supplies โ›ฝ before I leave to ensure that I can wash my hands well. That said I’m a bit concerned that the forecast is trending cloudy โ˜ and cooler for the Easter holiday.

In four weeks on May 2 the sun will be setting in the west-northwest (292ยฐ) at 7:57 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 31 minutes and 49 seconds later then tonight. In 2019 on that day, we had partly cloudy, rain showers and temperatures between 65 and 50 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 65 and 43 degrees. The record high of 90 degrees was set back in 2018.

Looking ahead, Average High is 60 ๐ŸŒผ is in 2 weeks, 8 PM Sunset ๐ŸŒ‡ is a month away, Average High is 70 ๐Ÿฎ is in 6 weeks, Memorial Day Weekend Starts ๐Ÿ•๏ธ is in 7 weeks, Last Day of Session ๐Ÿ› is in 11 weeks and Summer ๏ธโ›ฑ๏ธ is in 11 weeks.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿฆ…Only 47 days remain until the start of Memorial Day Weekend!๐Ÿฆ…๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Dairies Along Clauverwie Road

April 4, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Happy Saturday. Happy weekend! Spring is coming. Two weeks to Average High is 60 ๐ŸŒผ. A time of blue skies but more clouds are pushing in and 48 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ›…There is a north breeze at 5 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. More sun then I had thought we would have today. The skies will clear tomorrow around 6 pm.

I am not really sure what my plans are for today. ๐Ÿ’ญ I might go down and hike at that bird ๐Ÿฆ preserve on the Hudson River and watch the river traffic, especially if it clouds up early or may be go out to Partridge Run. ๐ŸŒฒ I’d like to get some good hiking in and there are a lot of places in the back part of Partridge Run I haven’t been in years. ๐Ÿ‘ข Unfortunately my hiking boots are falling apart and the new ones are backordered so I have to be careful not to get my feet too wet.

Today will have a slight chance of showers before 10am. Partly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 56 degrees at 4pm. Three degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around April 10th. North wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. The high last year was 47 degrees. The record high of 79 was set in 1950. 4.3 inches of snow fell back in 2016.โ„ Definitely should be a nice day if the sun sticks around.

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:59 pm with sun having an altitude of 53.3ยฐ from the due south horizon (-17.5ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 4.5 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 6:48 pm with the sun in the west (273ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west (279ยฐ) starting at 7:22 pm and lasts for 2 minutes and 56 seconds with dusk around 7:53 pm, which is one minute and 8 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ Days are definitely getting longer. At dusk you’ll see the Waxing Gibbous ๐ŸŒ” Moon in the east-southeast (118ยฐ) at an altitude of 46ยฐ from the horizon, 228,105 miles away. ๐Ÿš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 8:28 pm. At sunset, look for partly cloudy skies ๐ŸŒƒ and temperatures around 53 degrees. There will be a calm wind. Today will have 12 hours and 54 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 51 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฅ, with a low of 43 degrees at 5am. 10 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around May 1st. Calm wind. Almost like May Day, hopefully by when the bull sheet ends. In 2019, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 25 degrees. The record low of 14 occurred back in 2016.

As previously noted, there are 2 weeks until Average High is 60 ๐ŸŒผ when the sun will be setting at 7:41 pm with dusk at 8:10 pm. On that day in 2019, we had cloudy, rain showers and temperatures between 58 and 46 degrees. We hit a record high of 90 back in 1976.

County Route 2

April 3, 2020 10 PM Update

Good evening! Drizzle, and 47 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜” There is a north breeze at 10 mph. ๐Ÿƒ The skies will clear tomorrow around 7 pm. It’s not going to be a real great weekend.

I am sitting out back after my evening walk, ๐Ÿšถ as truth be told I’m tired as last night I didn’t take a sleeping pill ๐Ÿ’Š and laid in bed all night listening to the disturbing news ๐Ÿ“ฐ. It’s actually a pretty mild evening, but then again it’s April in the year that is kind of timeless. Watching the traffic on Delaware Avenue and you see a car go but every few minutes, traffic is really light with all the bars and things do on Friday night closed down. The Herb Alpert record I’m listening ๐Ÿ‘‚ to on my wireless headphones never gets old. That album is 56 years old now. Born 21 years before me. Too cold for spring peepers tonight

Tonight will have patchy drizzle with scattered showers. Mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 41 degrees at 5am. Eight degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around April 25th. North wind 7 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. In 2019, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 30 degrees. The record low of 14 occurred back in 1954.

Honestly, I don’t want to back inside as I’m tired of being home so much. ๐Ÿก Monday and Tuesday should be nice enough that I can work outside and one of those days I’ll probably bring my laptop out to Five Rivers Environmental Education Center to work or at least download videos and podcasts. ๐Ÿธ

I am almost done on the once again revised blog theme ๐Ÿ“ท that will emphasize full screen photos with more interactive and immersive experience, fixing some long time issues with the blog. ๐Ÿ“ Learning more about the guts and the WordPress API.

Tonight will have a Waxing Gibbous ๐ŸŒ” Moon with 79% illuminated. At 9 PM, the moon was in the south-southeast (157ยฐ) at an altitude of 64ยฐ from the horizon, some 229,800 miles away from where you are looking up from the earth. ๐Ÿš€ At the state speed limit of 55 mph, you’ll make it there by September 25th. Buckle up for safety! ๐Ÿ’บ The Pink ๐ŸŒธ Moon is on Tuesday, April 7. The darkest hour is at 12:59 am, followed by dawn at 6:06 am, and sun starting to rise at 6:34 am in the east (82ยฐ) and last for 2 minutes and 56 seconds. Sunrise is one minute and 44 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 7:11 am with sun in the east (88ยฐ). Tonight will have 11 hours and 6 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 2 minutes and 51 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will be mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฅ, with a high of 57 degrees at 3pm. Four degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around April 12th. North wind around 6 mph. A year ago, we had partly cloudy skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 47 degrees. The record high of 79 was set in 1950. 4.3 inches of snow fell back in 2016.โ„

The things were looking better for the weather this weekend โ˜ but the storm on the coast has lingered around. I might do Schodack Island State Park and Aldi’s again although I have no reason of need to go into the city tomorrow. ๐Ÿ I like the small size of Aldi which is good when you want to get in and out during a pandemic. They’re also very good quality food despite all being those odd store brands. Or maybe I’ll explore the Papsacani Island or whatever it’s called, that bird sanctuary on the river tomorrow and sit down by the river for a while, ๐Ÿฆ hopefully alone where I can enjoy some solitude by the river. Ticks might be bad, no a good time to get Lyme disease ๐Ÿœ, although I got a mailing this weekend announcing on April 1st, my insurance covers telemedicine for free, although not real helpful ๐Ÿ˜ท without internet access.

Originally was thinking about hiking several miles of dirt road up at Partridge Run and doing some fishing in Rennselearville but not if the weather is crap ๐ŸŽฃ even though it would be better fishing. But hiking on dreary days can be dreary but I could change my mind. Walking those dirt roads not likely to see or run into many people. ๐Ÿšถ Of course with all this paranoia over Coronavirus I probably shouldn’t publicly announce I’m going to be anywhere in the wilderness due to the risk of internet shaming (you left your moldy apartment!), even though I’ve been incredibly socially isolated for the past three weeks ๐Ÿ‘ค and have had minimal human contact, always stepping far off the trail when I pass people.

That said I’m watching the forecast slide downhill for next weekend โ˜ and I’m watching the weather but I’m not sure if I’ll be spending some nights in the wilderness or not. โ›บ If I do, it might be close to home or it might not be. I have a multitude of ideas away from people for a few nights in pure wilderness. ๐Ÿ‘ฅI don’t plan to use any public accommodation after I leave home, so no risk of picking up the bug ๐Ÿ› and not being able to wash it away. I’m not going to tell anybody when I’m leaving or returning, or where or if I’m going. I’ll pull the battery from my phone so no one can find me until I return. I’ll park where I can’t be seen from the road. I can take care of myself, live a good life out in the wilderness without being the governments’ bitch. ๐Ÿถ Have a good time, mind my own business. It’s the safest thing to do in an era of such bigotry by those who have adopted the mindset of government minders. Everybody wants to be a Chinese Uncle Police officer ๐Ÿ‘ฎ these days. Or maybe I won’t go anywhere at all. I don’t have to post about it on the internet for sure. ๐Ÿ™Š Don’t tread on me.

I am so tempted to create a Facebook logo that says, “Duck You, I hope you die from Coronavirus” ๐Ÿ‘พin response to all the social distancing memes and frames. I know that’s not very nice. But I think the self appointed Uncle Police are so obnoxious. Its not like many public accommodations are open anymore that you can spread the virus at any more but it sure feels good to the self appointed Uncle Police ๐Ÿšจ on Facebook to shame people wherever they can. I’m not rushing to the store any more than absolutely necessary (once a week) and trying to stay at least 20 feet away from others on the street or trail – I apply rubbing alcohol to my hands on my truck ๐Ÿ‘ and wash good as soon as I’m home. And I pray. ๐Ÿ™But not to the God of some self appointed health minister in the church โ›ช of the government. My libertarianism is starting to show through.

I actually liked a promote page about North Idaho living from a real estate company today. I bet parts of Idaho are really nice and wild, ๐Ÿบ but the state is also starting to get over developed by refugees from California. I do follow pig farmer ๐Ÿฝ North Country Off Grid (he doesn’t even have a small solar electricity system or didn’t until recent) and that other Yak Farmer from Idaho. The issues that North Country off grid has from suburbanites developing neighboring lands makes me think twice but then again the wrong kind of neighbors moving in can be a problem anywhere. I don’t know, only a few more years in New York and then I’ll make the jump and move out west or maybe to the Ozarks. ๐Ÿšœ I’ve heard a lot good things about rural Tennessee and while West Virginia is beautiful, there is something quite alarming about that state’s coal fueled politics. ๐Ÿญ Every buck saved today is one closer to a better tomorrow. Time goes by quickly โณand moving day will you know it. I “can’t wait” but good things happen to those who wait, so I will wait doing the best I can every day to improve my own life๐Ÿ‘.

In four weeks on May 1 (which is May Day) the sun will be setting in the west-northwest (292ยฐ) at 7:55 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 31 minutes and 49 seconds later then tonight. In 2019 on that day, we had cloudy, rain showers and temperatures between 56 and 42 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 65 and 43 degrees. The record high of 86 degrees was set back in 2001.

Looking ahead, Good Friday โœ๏ธ is in 1 week, May ๐Ÿ•Š is in 4 weeks, 8:30 PM Sunset ๏ธโ›ฑ๏ธ is in 9 weeks, and Election Day 2020 ๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ is in 7 months.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿฆ…Only 48 days remain until the start of Memorial Day Weekend!๐Ÿฆ…๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 6:47 pm with the sun in the west (272ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west (278ยฐ) starting at 7:21 pm and lasts for 2 minutes and 56 seconds with dusk around 7:52 pm, which is one minute and 8 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the Waxing Gibbous ๐ŸŒ” Moon in the southeast (129ยฐ) at an altitude of 57ยฐ from the horizon, 229,894 miles away. ๐Ÿš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 8:27 pm. I am starting to think tomorrow is going to be a really nice day. โ˜€ Maybe tomorrow I should plan to get out and get some fresh air. I am thinking about maybe a long stroll around the back part of Partridge Run mostly on the dirt roads as the trails are likely to be quite wet. ๐Ÿšถ

Looking ahead to Sunday, a slight chance of showers after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 59. Light southwest wind. Chance of precipitation is 20%. Typical average high for the weekend is 53 degrees.

Sunday I’ll do the wash ๐Ÿ‘šand then restock the missing items in my pantry and if it’s decent maybe find some less popular places to explore in the woods not far from home and then also start to get my gear together.
