Good evening! Rain and 70 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜” Calm wind. The dew point is 61 degrees. First real summer night for sure. Long day at work, I ended up taking the nine o’clock home. ๐Ÿก

I really like how they have displayed the pride flag over the Capitol ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ in commemoration of the fiftieth anniversary of the Stonewell Rebellion. Certainly in some ways society has come so far in the past half century, even if in other parts like race relationships or even the rural urban divide we’ve made a lot less progress. Too much of society is about our own tribes and forcing our will over other tribes, too little is about mutual respect for diversity and people different than ourselves. Later in the week I want to bring in my high resolution camera and get a picture of the flag. It’s really a beautiful flag, especially when blue skies return.

Tonight will have showers likely before 11pm, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm between 11pm and 3am, then showers likely after 3am. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. ๐ŸŒง Low of 64 degrees at 5am. Eight degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 63 at 1am. ๐Ÿ–๏ธ Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible. In 2018, we had cloudy skies in the evening, which became partly cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 48 degrees. The record low of 38 occurred back in 1971.

Tonight will have a Waxing Crescent Moon ๐ŸŒ’ with 17% illuminated. The moon will rise at 8:24 am. The First Quarter Moon is on Sunday night. The Strawberry Moon ๐ŸŒ is on Sunday, June 16th. The sun will rise at 5:18 am with the first light at 4:43 am, which is 20 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ„ Tonight will have 8 hours and 48 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 59 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will have a chance of showers, mainly before 2pm. Cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing ๐ŸŒฆ, with a high of 76 degrees at 5pm. One degree above normal, which is similar to a typical day around June 7th. Pretty close to summer weather. Maximum dew point of 63 at 7am. Light and variable wind becoming northwest around 5 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. A year ago, we had light rain in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 72 degrees. The record high of 94 was set in 1925.

A picture perfect weekend on tap. ๐Ÿ˜Ž Saturday, sunny, with a high near 78. Maximum dew point of 51 at 8am. Sunday, sunny, with a high near 80. Maximum dew point of 56 at 6pm. Typical average high for the weekend is 76 degrees. Definitely going to try to maximize the weekend even if I’m not heading out of town to camp. Hopefully this nice weather will be back for a second round the following weekend.

In four weeks on July 3 the sun will be setting at 8:36 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 6 minutes and 55 seconds later then tonight. In 2018 on that day, we had hot, humid, mostly sunny and temperatures between 94 and 74 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 82 and 61 degrees. The record high of 102 degrees was set back in 1911.

Looking ahead, Last Day of Session ๐Ÿ› is in 2 weeks, Dog Days of Summer ๐ŸŒป is a month away, Altamont Fair Opens ๐ŸŽก is in 10 weeks, State Fair Opens ๐ŸŽก is in 11 weeks, September 11th ๐Ÿ‡ธ is in 14 weeks, More Night then Day ๐ŸŒŒ is in 16 weeks and Inauguration Day 2021 ๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿป is in 85 weeks.

Sail Boat

June 5, 2019 Morning

Good morning! Today 8:30 PM Sunset ๏ธโ›ฑ๏ธ. Two weeks to Last Day of Session ๐Ÿ›. Maybe there is hope. Looking forward summer and getting out of town. But not this weekend. I noticed that there is still three weekends after this weekend in June so I’ll still have a chance to get out at least once in June. Hopefully once it warms up and the water isn’t so cold and the black flies are done. ๐ŸŠ The Mine Kill pool opens in two and half weeks on June 22nd.๐Ÿ– That could be a fun weekend, hiking in the Catskills, swimming, fishing, and camping up at Burnt-Rossman.

Partly cloudy and 61 degrees at the Elsmere. NY. โ˜ There is a south breeze at 7 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. The dew point is 54 degrees. The skies will clear tomorrow around 2 pm. It was a pretty cloudy day but it seems like we’ve had some more clearing. Maybe it will be a day that is kind of gray with haze in the sky then a real cloudy and dark day, but I brought my umbrella — ran upstairs for it –which ensures no rain today.โ˜”

Today will have a chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 2pm. Mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฆ, with a high of 78 degrees at 3pm. Three degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around June 14th. Maximum dew point of 62 at 4pm. South wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. A year ago, we had light rain in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 64 degrees. The record high of 97 was set in 1925.

The sun will set at 8:29 pm with dusk around 9:04 pm, which is 41 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At sunset, look out for thunderstorms ๐ŸŒฉ and temperatures around 72 degrees. The dew point will be 62 degrees. There will be a south breeze at 8 mph. Today will have 15 hours and 11 minutes of daytime, an increase of one minute and one second over yesterday.

Tonight will have a chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 7pm and 1am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1am. Mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 64 degrees at 3am. 10 degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 62 at 8pm. South wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. In 2018, we had cloudy skies in the evening, which became partly cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 48 degrees. The record low of 38 occurred back in 1971.

I decided against getting a USB flashlight that I could charge in my truck, although it looks like there are lots of options. ๐Ÿ”ฆ I really have quite a bit of flashlights, and those LED flashlight batteries last quite a long time. I really should switch over to rechargable batteries though — I some mains have chargers around — and it looks like they make buck-converter based USB chargers or even 12 volt that I could use for easy plugging into my truck. Still haven’t decided on the hammock. Maybe tonight — as I sure would like to have it if I go camping next weekend, especially if I do end up going up to that site up in Perkins Clearing where I was on Labor Day last year.๐Ÿ’ค

As previously noted, there are 2 weeks until Last Day of Session ๐Ÿ› when the sun will be setting at 8:36 pm with dusk at 9:11 pm. Almost the longest day of the year — that Friday is the first day of summer. On that day in 2018, we had humid, mostly sunny and temperatures between 83 and 64 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 79 degrees. We hit a record high of 94 back in 1995.

This evening I’m hoping to get out for my evening walk, but it all depends on the timing of the thunderstorms.โ›ˆ I expect in two weeks I’ll be getting home earlier much more regularly. I really haven’t spent much time at the park after work, ๐Ÿ“— because I’ve either been at work or it’s been cold and rainy in the evening. ๐Ÿž

June 4, 2019 Morning

Good morning! Talk about a beautiful Tuesday morning. Three weeks to Primary Day ๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ. It will be summer by then. One of these days I’ll have to research the primary candidates. I kind of like voting for interesting people. ๐Ÿ˜‚ If you’re going to vote โŽ for the grafter they should be at least colorful and fun. Like Mike Connors. Plus Independence Day is a month away. ๐ŸŽ‡ I think soon they’ll be selling fountain fireworks and sparklers. Yeap, I need some to light off in the wilderness and disturb the peace.โ˜ฎ

We may lose and we may win
Though we will never be here again
So open up I’m climbin’ in

I heard the lady in the flat bed Ford was in her mid 70s at this point, hands calloused from years hauling slop buckets and working with heavy machinery on the farm. ๐Ÿšœ I bet she packs too. ๐Ÿ”ซ Probably if she’s in New Mexico she has solar on the house.

Sunny and 52 degrees at the CDTA Bus Stop #10595. ๐ŸŒž There is a west-northwest breeze at 10 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. Still need to figure out how to get that temperature probe working in my apartment so I don’t really have an idea on the temperature at home. I’ll probably have to desolder things and test with a voltmeter. โšก

Today will have a chance of showers, mainly after 4pm. Increasing clouds ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 65 degrees at 2pm. 10 degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around May 2nd. West wind 8 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. A year ago, we had cloudy skies in the morning, which became light rain by afternoon. The high last year was 66 degrees. The record high of 97 was set in 1919.

Heading in somewhat earlier than normal ๐Ÿข because I have a project to do this morning. At least it’s a nice morning for a change, not too cold or rainy. And it’s amazing we haven’t had any super hot and humid days. ๐Ÿ”ฅ But I know those days are coming as are days at the Potholers. ๐ŸŠ

The sun will set at 8:28 pm with dusk around 9:03 pm, which is 43 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At sunset, look for rain showers ๐ŸŒง and temperatures around 60 degrees. The dew point will be 47 degrees. There will be a northwest breeze at 5 mph. Duck, I didn’t bring my umbrella โ˜” by I might have one in the office for what’s it’s worth. Today will have 15 hours and 10 minutes of daytime, an increase of one minute and 5 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have showers likely, mainly between 7pm and 11pm. Cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 53 degrees at 5am. Typical for tonight. Maximum dew point of 50 at 4am. Light and variable wind becoming south around 6 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. In 2018, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became light rain by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 48 degrees. The record low of 39 occurred back in 1990.

I have narrowed down my list of camping hammocks ๐Ÿ“ƒ to replace my torn one. They really are quite affordable and they do provide a lot of pleasure ๐Ÿ˜Œ up at camp. Forty or fifty bucks doesn’t go that far anymore.ย  I want to finalize my decision by mid week so I have it for the following week should I go to either Piseco-Powley Road or Perkins Clearing. Probably the later as I need cell reception ๐Ÿ“ถ for work and there is no reception at Piseco-Powley Road or very spotty, although I might spend my day down in Little Falls should I go up to Piseco-Powley Road during the third weekend of June.

I’ve continued my search for USB rechargable flashlights on AliExpress and EBay. ๐Ÿ”ฆ Ideally I’d like something that I could plug directly into one of the many the USB ports on my truck for charging, ๐Ÿ”Œ although I guess I could use a cable. A lot of them are based around the 18650 rechargable lithium ion battery that has the advantage that many chargers are available, and they are easy to swap in and out of the flashlights, although they make things more bulky. I just want something I can keep fully charged up at camp when I need them when things are dark, so it’s ready with bright light.

While I guess CDTA has had this for a while on their website, I noticed just yesterday if you go to their mobile website or website, they will show you the estimated position of buses along the line. ๐ŸšŒ (Look for the bus icon along the stop) That’s a feature I’ve looking for for years, if only for a psychological benefit of having something to look at on my phone while I wait for the bus. Real time bus information is nice — with a minute delay, but I think I kind of prefer to see the estimated bus location. It’s not perfect as the buses only ping the bus service servers once a minute, and sometimes downtown the signal is blocked by the buildings.

As previously noted, there are 3 weeks until Primary Day ๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ at least for us democrats locally when the sun will be setting at 8:37 pm with dusk at 9:12 pm. On that day in 2018, we had mostly sunny, rain showers and temperatures between 78 and 55 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 80 degrees. We hit a record high of 95 back in 1898.

Tide going out

June 1, 2019 Evening

Good evening! Clearing a bit with rain showers and a few rumbles of thunder around and 74 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜ There is a south breeze at 8 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. The dew point is 58 degrees. The skies will clear tomorrow around 9 pm. A few fireflies around. Not a lot, they’ve been tardy with the cold spring. ๐Ÿ

We had some heavy rain for a while. I got caught out walking in the rain. โ˜” But now it has stopped and I’m sitting out back. ๐ŸšถI bought some milk and ice cream and are now sitting out back as the rain has stopped. ๐ŸจHappy Dairy Month! ๐Ÿฎ It wasn’t that bad of a day but pretty busy. Lot of little things to get done.

Tonight will be scattered showers and thunderstorms before 2am, then isolated showers between 2am and 5am. Patchy fog after 5am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 61 degrees at 5am. Eight degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around July 3rd. Maximum dew point of 60 at 10pm. South wind 5 to 8 mph becoming calm after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. In 2018, we had partly cloudy skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It was somewhat humid. It got down to 60 degrees. The record low of 39 occurred back in 1971.

Tonight will have a New Moon. The Strawberry Moon ๐ŸŒ is on Sunday, June 16th. The sun will rise at 5:19 am with the first light at 4:45 am, which is 28 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ„ Tonight will have 8 hours and 52 minutes of darkness, a decrease of one minute and 14 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 1pm. Some of the storms could produce small hail and gusty winds. ๐ŸŒฆ High of 77 degrees at 3pm. Three degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around June 10th. Maximum dew point of 61 at 12pm. ๐Ÿ–๏ธ South wind 8 to 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. A year ago, we had cloudy skies in the morning with more sun in the afternoon. It was very sticky. The high last year was 78 degrees. The record high of 94 was set in 1895.

I accomplished everything I planned on doing today which was good. ๐Ÿ‘ The big thing was buying the battery ๐Ÿ”‹ and getting that hooked up, so I’ve doubled my storage for camping. The solar works well on the truck except during long cloudy periods and I’m producing enough power to really float the batteries relatively quickly. It was easy enough to tap into the bus bar although I had to exchange the first battery I got because I got the wrong size and when you get batteries to run in parallel you want the same size so they charge properly. But I got that battery returned and ended up having to go to Glenmont Walmart for the battery as only one in Albany was over a year old. The Glenmont store had a battery dated 6/19 so it must be pretty new. Granted a few things about set up isn’t perfect but I plan to experiment and with costs under $120 it’s not the end of the world. I’m continuing to learn a lot.

It was a nice walk ๐Ÿšถ today at the Albany Pine Bush Preserve with lots of lupine around. It really was fields of purple. I didn’t spend a lot of time hiking there but enough to enjoy it. Didn’t see any Karner Blues unlike I did a few weeks back but I was hiking in a different location. ๐ŸŒฒ

I tried warranting the hammock but because the rip wasn’t at seem they wouldn’t exchange it. The hammocks aren’t expensive so I’m going to try to get one online somewhere. They are a lot of fun and for under $50 are worth it. ๐Ÿ˜ That said, it won’t be an LL Bean hammock as I don’t use that credit card ๐Ÿ’ณ anymore in favor of the cash back card I have with my bank. I don’t mind that much, that LL Bean hammock was shitty from the day I got it and with my rewards card only spent $4 and the hammock straps are still good.

Hooked up the outside temperature probe for my display, ๐Ÿ“ˆ and used thin wires to sneak it out past the window screen so I can keep it hooked up with the windows closed. Unfortunately I can’t test it because I don’t have the necessary libraries to make it work. I’ll have to download them tomorrow. In the process I accidentally disconnected a wire and things stopped working but they are good now. It will be interesting to monitor the outside temperature especially as cooler weather approaches come the autumn.

Tomorrow I’m planning on going to over John Wolcott’s house ๐Ÿก to keep going through his files. ๐Ÿ“‚ I found some interesting documents from the Erastus Corning Era. Then I’ll head over to my parents house for Sunday evening dinner. ๐Ÿ—

In four weeks on June 29 the sun will be setting at 8:37 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 10 minutes and 29 seconds later then today. In 2018 on that day, we had hot, mostly sunny, shallow fog and temperatures between 89 and 62 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 81 and 60 degrees. The record high of 96 degrees was set back in 1944.

Looking ahead, Average High is 80 ๐Ÿ– is in 3 weeks, July ๐ŸŠ๐Ÿฟ is a month away, Hottest Time of the Year ๐Ÿ˜… is in 6 weeks, Ugly Truck Day ๐Ÿšš is in 7 weeks, August ๐ŸŒป is in 2 months, Average High Falls To 79 ๏ธDegrees โ›ฑ๏ธ๏ธ๏ธ is in 12 weeks, Sunset Before 7:30 PM ๐ŸŒ† is in 3 months, Average High 70 ๐ŸŽ‘ is in 16 weeks and October ๐Ÿ›ฅ is in 4 months.

Looking Up at the Clouds

May 31, 2019 Morning

Good morning! Where did May go? Hello June in two weeks. Been such a cold spring, it seems hard to believe June is tomorrow. But I like June. Sure it’s a busy time at work but I like drinking milk during dairy month. Two weeks to Flag Day ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ. If it’s nice, I’ll have my big flag hanging out, assuming I stick in town next weekend — which who knows depending on the weather. Partly sunny and 64 degrees at the Elm Ave Park & Ride – CDTA. There is a north-northwest breeze at 8 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. The dew point is 54 degrees. It was more humid yesterday for sure.

Taking the express downtown, ๐Ÿš following an incredibly dirty diesel truck ๐Ÿšš that is blowing out tons of black smoke. Yuck. I’m old enough to remember how filthy the old school buses and even heavy oil boilers were in the school buildings. ๐Ÿšธ Sure, you’ll sometimes see an old farm truck smoking ๐Ÿšฌ like a chimney but not so much in the cities anymore. Air pollution has gotten a lot better in the cities for sure.

Today will be sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 76 degrees at 3pm. Two degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around June 7th. Maximum dew point of 54 at 8am. Northwest wind 8 to 10 mph. Should be a good day. A year ago, we had partly cloudy skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. It was humid. Not today. The high last year was 79 degrees. The record high of 92 was set in 2013.

Hoping to get out for a nice walk at lunch time. ๐Ÿšถ It should be a nice day. In the evening, I am going over to John Wolcott’s house, although I’m thinking I may have to run home first to bring my laptop home, as I want to have it to work on various projects over the weekend, especially if Sunday looks rainy. It’s hard to program a microprocessor without the laptop.๐Ÿ’ป

The sun will set at 8:25 pm with dusk around 8:59 pm, which is 48 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At sunset, look for mostly clear skies ๐ŸŒ„ and temperatures around 69 degrees. The dew point will be 49 degrees. There will be a northwest breeze at 7 mph. Today will have 15 hours and 5 minutes of daytime, an increase of one minute and 18 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be mostly clear ๐ŸŒƒ, with a low of 52 degrees at 5am. Typical for tonight. Maximum dew point of 50 at 6pm. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening. In 2018, we had partly cloudy skies in the evening, which became cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It became very sticky as the night progressed. It got down to 69 degrees. The record low of 35 occurred back in 1945.

The four day work week made the weekend come relatively fast. โฉ But so be it. I have a modestly busy weekend scheduled with a fair number of projects to work on. Sunday doesn’t look all that great now. โ˜ That said, as long as I get the battery hooked up this weekend, and hopefully hammock exchanged, I’ll be good. I guess it doesn’t matter that much if I ultimately don’t prevail on the hammock warranty — I only spent $4 — the rest I got with reward points. I’d like to get out and do some hiking before the rain comes, maybe in the Pine Bush tomorrow. ๐ŸŒฒ

As previously noted, there are 2 weeks until Flag Day ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ when the sun will be setting at 8:34 pm with dusk at 9:09 pm. On that day in 2018, we had partly cloudy, rain showers and temperatures between 73 and 60 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 78 degrees. I’ll be shocked if it’s actually that warm. Been so dang cold. We hit a record high of 96 back in 1892.

 Heldebergs

May 14, 2019 Night

Good evening! No need to repeat the weather conditions except to say I needed my umbrella on the way home and it’s around 43 degrees โ˜” There is a northwest breeze at 6 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. Rain and more rain. At least I work indoors but it doesn’t make the weather any less depressing. ๐Ÿ˜” The Youtube farm channels I follow show a lot of muddy livestock, and farmers frustrated that they can’t get out in the fields.

Very busy day today at work, ๐Ÿ’ผ I got home around 8:45 after taking the 8:15 home. Hopefully in five weeks when the legislative session wraps down it won’t be so crazy at work and I’ll be able to get home by 5:45 most nights and then I can go to the park with a book.๐Ÿ“” Between work and the wet, rainy nights, I’ve only been out once night so far this year reading. But it’s also been a particularly crazy year this year at work.๐Ÿ˜ซ

I made up some pasta with tuna fish and mayo. ๐Ÿ  Simple, easy inexpensive meal. I also don’t have a lot of choices at home right now for food although fortunately tomorrow is the Pine Bush Dinner. ๐ŸŒฒBeen so busy I kind of totally forgot about it all. I got to work on the Pine Bush display for Saturday on Thursday night. I am really running low on veggies at home,๐ŸŒฝ๐Ÿ…ย I guess I could open up some canned stuff. ๐Ÿฅซ

Tonight will rain before midnight, then a chance of showers, mainly between midnight and 2am. Patchy fog between 4am and 5am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 38 degrees at 5am. Nine degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around April 18th. Northwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. In 2018, we had mostly clear skies. It became sticky as the night progressed. It got down to 56 degrees. The record low of 31 occurred back in 1977.

Tonight will have a Waxing Gibbous Moon ๐ŸŒ” with 90% illuminated. The moon will set at 4:05 am. The Flower ๐ŸŒธ Moon ๐ŸŒ• is on Friday night wait for it…..scattered showers. The sun will rise at 5:33 am with the first light at 5:01 am, which is one minute and 2 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ„ Tonight will have 9 hours and 22 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 2 minutes and 4 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will be partly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 63 degrees at 3pm. Six degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around April 27th. Northwest wind 5 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Despite the sun, it will feel cold. A year ago, we had partly cloudy skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 77 degrees. The record high of 93 was set in 1900.

I have to think things are going to end badly with Trump’s tariffs ๐ŸŒŽbut only time will tell. I feel like a recession might be better for me in the short term and maybe for the country as a whole as it leads people to be more cautious and makes buying into the markets more affordable. That said the Trump supporters are not wrong when they say the tarrifs are a relatively small tax compared to the many others out there, the economy is very healthy and inflation is very low. ๐Ÿ’ฃ I’m ready to see what happens as it may lead to a lot of re thinking about economics.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a fan of Trump and I think a lot of his thinking and policies don’t correspond with reality. ๐Ÿ’ญ That said I’m hardly enthusiastic about the national democrats and if anything I’m looking at third party candidates for president. I voted for Bernie in the primary in 2016 but I’d hardly call myself an enthusiastic supporter of him and less so in 2020. I do like Trump’s first appointment to the Supreme Court and his tax cut but at least I wish he would acknowledge that climate change is problematic and getting worse and that we should be an international leader not a bully.

A picture perfect weekend on tap. ๐Ÿ˜Ž Saturday, mostly sunny, with a high near 67. Maximum dew point of 46 at 6am. Sunday, partly sunny, with a high near 72. Maximum dew point of 53 at 2pm. Typical average high for the weekend is 70 degrees.

Maybe Sunday I’ll have to think about doing some hiking somewhere. ๐Ÿšถ Not too far from home though as Memorial Day Weekend if it’s nice ๐Ÿ˜† I plan to head north. But I know that’s unlikely. It will probably rain and be cold unless there are thousands of black flies.

In four weeks on June 11 the sun will be setting at 8:33 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 23 minutes and 13 seconds later then tonight. In 2018 on that day, we had mostly sunny and temperatures between 78 and 55 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 77 and 55 degrees. The record high of 94 degrees was set back in 1947.

Looking ahead, Flag Day ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ is a month away, Primary Day ๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ is in 6 weeks, National Nude Day ๐Ÿ‘ฑ is in 2 months, Last Sunset After 8:30 PM ๐ŸŒ† is in 9 weeks, Altamont Fair Opens ๐ŸŽก is in 3 months, Constitution Day ๐Ÿ“œ is in 18 weeks, October ๐Ÿ›ฅ is in 20 weeks and Election Day 2020 ๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ is in 77 weeks.

Orange, Red, White Tulips

May 14, 2019 Morning

Good morning! Happy Tuesday. Six weeks to Primary Day ๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ. With the state’s paid time off to vote law, I’ll have an excuse to get to a work late after voting at the library. Here’s a shocker, cloudy, damp and 42 degrees โ˜ in the land of socialist Elsmere. The organic kale socialism type, the kind widely used embraced as long as it doesn’t involve higher taxes on the upper middle class. There is a north-northeast breeze at 5 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. The skies will clear tomorrow around 7 am.

I have to fix up the Save the Pine Bush display ๐ŸŒฒfor the Lupine Festival this weekend. Yeap that’s happening this weekend and it should be a good event. Hopefully we will have lots of volunteers to join me so I won’t be sitting at the table all alone all day. I’m gathering up photos now, I’ll run off materials for the booth later on this week.

Today will rain, mainly after 3pm. ๐ŸŒง High of 49 degrees at 5pm. 20 degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around March 27th. Northeast wind 3 to 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Almost didn’t bring an umbrella but I knew that to be foolish. ๐Ÿ’ฆ New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. A year ago, we had partly cloudy skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 77 degrees. The record high of 93 was set in 1900.

The sun will set at 8:10 pm with dusk around 8:42 pm, which is one minute and 3 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At sunset, look for rain showers ๐ŸŒง and temperatures around 47 degrees. There will be a north-northwest breeze at 5 mph. Today will have 14 hours and 36 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 6 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have showers likely, mainly before 8pm. Cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 42 degrees at 6am. Five degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around April 30th. Northwest wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. In 2018, we had mostly clear skies. It became sticky as the night progressed. It got down to 56 degrees. The record low of 31 occurred back in 1977.

Looking forward to Memorial Day Weekend ๐Ÿ˜Ž especially if it looks like it will be warm and sunny. We might break out of the current pattern by then but who knows. A some point summer will be here. I was thinking that the Gas Up antique tractor festival ๐Ÿšœ in Gallupville is only about a month away at this point. Might be fun to do that and then hammock camp โ›บ in the wilderness.

One month ๐Ÿ“… from now will be Flag Day ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ when the sun will be setting at 8:34 pm with dusk at 9:09 pm. I’ll have to get my big flag out. Hopefully the sun will shine by then.
