March 29, 2019 Morning

Good morning! I hardly noticed it was a Friday, but eight weeks until the start of Memorial Day Weekend. Hello black flies! You remember me.๐Ÿœ Two weeks to Grilled Cheese Day ๐Ÿง€. Despite being such a supporter of the dairy industry, it’s been a long time since I’ve had a good grilled cheese. Good meal for camping on a rainy day with some soup. I kind of don’t like soup cans because they can’t be burnt at camp but they certainly burnt clean, then can be taken to the transfer station and recycled โ™ป.

This morning it was raining but now it’s just cloudy and damp, around 46 degrees at the bus stop near Valero. โ˜” I’m prepared, I brought my umbrella. There is a south breeze at 8 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. Temperatures will drop below freezing at Sunday around 11 pm. โ˜ƒ๏ธ

I was on the fence about taking the bus to work or driving ๐Ÿš˜ in. But I was afraid of getting caught in the rain walking from my truck parked by Downtown SUNY and the Smith Building. Maybe tonight will be a late night, but if I think we are likely to released between 11:30 and 6:30 AM, I’ll go home and get Big Red during some downtown in the evening. That way I’ll only have to park once. Another option is ride sharing, I guess that would be a heck of a lot safer than driving home sleep deprived. Or sleep under the desk until the 6:30 in the morning. ๐Ÿ˜ด I have options. Taking a 40 ft bus ๐Ÿš to work today, no articulated bus today on the 18. A bit crowded but it is generally difficult to justify articulated buses on most of CDTA’s routes.

Today will have showers, mainly before 5pm. ๐ŸŒฆ High of 53 degrees at 4pm. Three degrees above normal, which is similiar to a typical day around April 3rd. Maximum dew point of 44 at 1pm. ๐Ÿ–๏ธ South wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. A year ago, we had light drizzle in the morning, which became light rain by afternoon. The high last year was 50 degrees. The record high of 85 was set in 1946. 5.6 inches of snow fell back in 1984.โ„

The sun will set at 7:18 pm with dusk around 7:46 pm, which is one minute and 8 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At sunset, look for rain ๐ŸŒง and temperatures around 50 degrees. There will be a calm wind. Today will have 12 hours and 36 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 53 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have a slight chance of showers before 8pm, then a chance of showers after 10pm. Cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 42 degrees at 3am. 11 degrees above normal, which is similiar to a typical night around April 28th. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. In 2018, we had patches of fog in the evening, which became mostly sunny by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 37 degrees. The record low of 7 occurred back in 1970.

Thursday I left work at five and caught the express bus ๐Ÿš home. I was surprised, twice this week. I think I also left at five on Tuesday. I doubt I’ll get the express bus home tonight and for the Saturday night overnight at work I’ll drive in. Still one or two nights a year driving into work isn’t too bad. No fees to park on the street on the weekends either, so hard to complain. That said I’m kind of tired ๐Ÿ˜ด already in anticipation for how the weekend will be. Maybe a long day today, who knows? I’ll get Big Red later on if I think I’ll be leaving in the middle of the night although they do have buses come Saturday morning.

I went to the laundromat last night to make sure that I had enough clean dress clothes for the long weekend and into next week if necessary. ๐Ÿ‘š I figured if I had the time I should do it tonight as who knows how late I’ll be at work tomorrow. That and I wanted to see if the stain would come out of my pair of pants. ๐Ÿ‘– It did, I was happy ๐Ÿ˜Š about that. Plus parking ๐Ÿ…ฟ is always a challenge at laundromat on Fridays due to people parking illegally there while they are at the bar getting drunk. ๐Ÿป

I was went for my evening walk last night. ๐Ÿšถ Not a bad evening for a walk, certainly nice and mild. ๐ŸŒƒ It was in the fifties so I could wear just a long sleeve shirt and my Carhartt vest that I so love. I really look forward to more mild nights even if it means that it will be a bit sticky out at times. Humidity can be addressed by cold drinks and swimming holes ๐ŸŠ the same can’t be said about freezing cold weather. Maybe when I have my own land and a woodstove eventually I’ll feel different.

Sat our back for a while with a cold glass ๐Ÿธ of water and a hint of apple cider vinegar last night. ๐Ÿ Its gross but in moderation I think I like it better than beer or whiskey. Shit ton cheaper too and no hang over. Maybe I’m growing old. ๐Ÿ‘ด Not too cold either although there was a bit of a breeze. Clouds kind of blocked the stars. Not sure the next time I’ll get to sit out back, tonight will probably be kind of cold and damp with today’s rain showers. โ˜”

Tomorrow will have a chance of showers before 1pm, then a slight chance of showers after 5pm. Mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฆ, with a high of 65 degrees at 4pm. 14 degrees above normal, which is similiar to a typical day around May 1st. Maximum dew point of 48 at 12pm. South wind 7 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. A year ago, we had light drizzle in the morning, which became light rain by afternoon. The high last year was 50 degrees. The record high of 86 was set in 1986. 4.0 inches of snow fell back in 1911.โ„

I expect I will be in the office ๐Ÿข tomorrow when I’m not sleeping. ๐Ÿ˜ด But I’m fine with that. Making money ๐Ÿ’ต is important, especially with $1,100 going out the door today between car insurance ๐Ÿš™ for Big Red and rent. Just a lot of things hit at once. Next month mid-April, after a paycheck or maybe two I have to pay my state taxes and credit card ๐Ÿ’ณ bill. But I think I will survive, things aren’t as bleak as a month ago. Still following my savings plan and I think I’ll keep my fund balance relatively close to where it should be.

Looking ahead to Sunday, showers, mainly before 2pm. High near 47. Northwest wind 9 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. Typical average high for the weekend is 51 degrees.

I’m thinking about washing the remaining salt off my truck on Sunday. ๐Ÿšฟ I think we are done with road salt for the year. Monday is going to be cold but I doubt the sanders will be out. I will however have to turn the heat ๐Ÿ”ฅ back on for at least one more day. I shouldn’t need a lot of groceries, although dish soap is on the top of the list.

I am hoping to visit Mom and Dad’s for Sunday dinner ๐Ÿœbut I’m not sure what Sunday evening will be like for me. I’m taking it one day at time. But soon it will be less busy for me, and I go out and do some fishing. ๐ŸŽฃ Today I’ll have to renew my fishing license, so I have it ready for when the current one expires in two weeks.

As previously noted, there are 2 weeks until Grilled Cheese Day ๐Ÿง€ when the sun will be setting at 7:34 pm with dusk at 8:03 pm. I usually have cheese at home but I should get some bread ๐Ÿž for that very special occasion. On that day in 2018, we had rain showers, partly cloudy and temperatures between 54 and 29 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 57 degrees. We hit a record high of 84 back in 1977.

In four weeks on April 26 the sun will be setting at 7:50 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 31 minutes and 53 seconds later then today. In 2018 on that day, we had partly cloudy and temperatures between 56 and 39 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 63 and 41 degrees. The record high of 90 degrees was set back in 1990.

So they’re banning shopping bags at the state level. ๐Ÿ‘œHardly a secret I’m not a fan of it on the local level but I have no opinion on a state level. Not my place to pass judgment. I guess it’s kind of good from a statewide perspective, it will reduce waste at least in theory. I kind of liked the free shopping bags certainly while camping, they were perfect for storing the day’s burnable trash while camping ๐Ÿ”ฅ , as trash liners in the bathroom ๐Ÿšฎ and of course for wrapping lunch in to prevent leaks. ๐Ÿ

I always brought back the bags I didn’t chuck in the fire to the store ๐Ÿฌ. But so be it, I guess many citidiots aren’t that responsible. I’ll just have to go back to using reusable bags – I used to use them a lot but they got dirty and worn out and I liked having the plastic ones for camp which is more than 3/4th the year for me.โ›บ I’m sure when I move to another state to buy land for my off grid house, they’ll have the traditional bags and the few that I don’t reuse for various purposes will burn down to nothing quickly in the burn barrel out back. ๐Ÿ›ข๏ธ

Lastly, I get kind of a laugh ๐Ÿ˜‚ out of when reporters read my tweets and my blog to figure out what is happening in Albany. ๐Ÿ“– Like I know shit, they don’t tell me anything. But they must think I’m such a good ole boy. Something like Possum King Vlog ๐Ÿ‘‘. Maybe I’ll be one some day when I live in a more free state out in the sticks. I’m actually pretty dull even though I have a big jacked up truck and I spend a lot of time in the wilderness. ๐ŸŒฒ๐ŸŒฒ๐ŸŒฒ๐ŸŒฒAnd I have a thing for Pennsyltucky and fire. ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Looking ahead, Grilled Cheese Day ๐Ÿง€ is in 2 weeks, Pack Rat Day ๐Ÿ€ is in 7 weeks, Memorial Day Weekend Starts ๐Ÿ•๏ธ is in 8 weeks, Dog Days of Summer ๐ŸŒป is in 14 weeks and Labor Day Weekend Begins ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿญ is in 22 weeks.

Franklinton Vlaie

March 28, 2019 Morning

Good morning! Today the Average High is 50 ๐ŸŒธ! Three weeks to Average High is 60 ๐ŸŒผ. Mostly sunny, around the freezing point at the bus stop near Valero. There is a South breeze at 13 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. Not a half bad morning for late March.

Today will be mostly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 57 degrees at 3pm. Seven degrees above normal, which is similiar to a typical day around April 12th. South wind 13 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. A year ago, we had mostly sunny. The high last year was 49 degrees. The record high of 85 was set in 1945. 14.2 inches of snow fell back in 1932.โ„ Fortunately, the Great Depression is over and today will be a much nicer day then back in the 1930s.

Today should be a nice day, maybe closer to sixty than the average high of 50 with lots of sun. โ˜€ The heat is shut off at least through Sunday night. The warm weather is closer today then farther away with each day creeping closer to those long summer nights. ๐Ÿ“™ Evenings down at the park โ›ฒ aren’t that far away nor days swimming ๐ŸŠ and paddling in the lake or weekend getaways to the wilderness. There is much to see and do during this upcoming summer months. ๐Ÿธ

The sun will set at 7:17 pm with dusk around 7:45 pm, which is one minute and 9 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At sunset, look for mostly cloudy skies โ˜ and temperatures around 53 degrees. There will be a south breeze at 11 mph. Today will have 12 hours and 33 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 54 seconds over yesterday.

Assuming that I get out relatively early from work tonight, which I frankly admit is unlikely, ๐Ÿ™I would be a good evening for sitting out back. Maybe not an awful lot of stars tonight but I’ll enjoy the fresh air assuming again that I wear the hoodie to stay warm.

Tonight will have a chance of showers, mainly between midnight and 4am. Mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 42 degrees at 1am. 11 degrees above normal, which is similiar to a typical night around April 28th. South wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. In 2018, we had cloudy in the evening, which became light drizzle by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 36 degrees. The record low of 0 occurred back in 1923. Probably too cold to sleep with the windows open, but I figured it would be a fairly cold day, so I left everything closed up this morning.

Tomorrow will have a chance of showers. Mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฆ, with a high of 55 degrees at 3pm. Five degrees above normal, which is similiar to a typical day around April 7th. Southwest wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. A year ago, we had mostly sunny. The high last year was 50 degrees. The record high of 85 was set in 1946. 5.6 inches of snow fell back in 1984.โ„

Wednesday wasn’t a half bad day, I took the 8:15 bus home ๐Ÿก. They got us dinner at work which was nice. Took the bus home, listening to John Denver. I don’t know why I’ve been playing his old records so much lately ๐Ÿ’ฟ but they touch something that is missing in my world of suits and ties. I know I have no real excuse for exhaustion except anticipation. ๐Ÿ˜‘

Another starry but modestly cool last night for my evening walk. ๐Ÿšถ I wasn’t sure if I would get home early enough to get out for the walk but I did. I wore my winter coat but it was unzippered the whole time walk. Now if it could have been nice enough to sit out back and look at the stars โœจ it would have been nice but it’s still March and quite a bit colder than I would have liked. But it got late quickly so after my glass or two of cider vinegar, and a slice of frozen banana ๐ŸŒ I retired to bed.

For the longest time yesterday I could not get my phone to connect to the Wi-Fi at work. ๐Ÿ“ฑ Not a really big deal but I’m always trying to save data so I have enough to use at home, and to get some podcasts to listen to ๐Ÿ‘‚ at home. It didn’t matter that much, hopefully today I can download more podcasts, although who knows how much time at home to listen to them. ๐ŸŽง There is always the radio I could listen to in bed.

Not a particularly nice weekend on tap. ๐Ÿ˜ž Saturday, a chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 65. South wind 5 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. Maximum dew point of 50 at 12pm. Sunday, showers, mainly before 2pm. High near 48. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Typical average high for the weekend is 51 degrees.

It looks like this weekend I’ll have to work, so I guess the questionable weather doesn’t matter much. ๐Ÿ‘”Who knows how much of the weekend I’ll be at work but maybe it will be the overnight shift on Saturday night ๐ŸŒƒ. At least I’m earning comp time that I can take off next summer should we have a heat wave ๐ŸŒŠ and I want to spend it at the Potholers.

I noticed one of my pants didn’t wash well last time or had something stained on it, so I’m putting it back in the wash, hoping it will clean up evenly. ๐Ÿ‘– Maybe laundry soap, I may have not set mom’s washing machine right. I’m probably going to go to the laundromat on Friday evening, assuming parking ๐Ÿ…ฟ there isn’t too difficult with all the drunkards taking up the parking spots as they go to the bar. ๐Ÿป

I often realize days and weeks are more difficult at work than others. But I’m committed to doing a good job and making a better life for myself. ๐Ÿก Life isn’t always easy or perfect but I’m dedicated to a better tomorrow. That said, I’m a bit concerned about the impact of government and private debt at all levels and climate change. I can work to defend my own life but the future ๐Ÿ”ฎ of our planet ๐ŸŒ and our country itself really is beyond my purview. Climate change is going to be so bad in the coming decades, within my lifetime which is probably almost half over.

In four weeks on April 25 the sun will be setting at 7:49 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 31 minutes and 53 seconds later then today. In 2018 on that day, we had rain and temperatures between 57 and 49 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 63 and 41 degrees. The record high of 89 degrees was set back in 2009. Should be camping season by then, โ›บwith a lot of greening up happening in the city.๐ŸŒฑ I really miss being out in the wilderness.

Listening to John Denver gets me thinking about Almost Heaven, West Virginia, ๐Ÿ’ญ where I will probably return to this fall to spend the balance of Columbus Day Week at this year.๐Ÿ Radio reminds me of my home far away. I love that state. There is a lot of WV I have yet to see and explore. Such a beautiful state. That’s a long ways away still but I still look forward exploring God’s Country. ๐Ÿ—ป

Looking ahead, Average High is 60 ๐ŸŒผ is in 3 weeks, Pink Moon ๐ŸŒ• is in 3 weeks, Average High is 70 ๐Ÿฎ is in 7 weeks, Summer ๏ธโ›ฑ๏ธ is in 12 weeks, Independence Day ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ is in 14 weeks, August ๐ŸŒป is in 18 weeks and Last Sunset After 7 PM ๐ŸŒ† is in 27 weeks.

Upper Falls

March 27, 2019 Morning

Good morning! What day is it?Final Hump Day of March, of course. Five weeks to May ๐Ÿ•Š. At least there is a few weeks in early May when there is no black flies. Sunny and 25 degrees in Delmar, NY. ๐ŸŒž Calm wind.Things will start to thaw out at around 10 am. ๐ŸŒก๏ธ

Another cold but at least sunny morning. โ„ At least I think we are most likely done with snow for the year in the Albany area. I heard the heat click on for a while then shut off. I think tomorrow I’ll turn it off hopefully until late October or early November. It’s good that it’s going to warm up to the fifties by afternoon. ๐ŸŒทBig Red accessory battery should be floating in a few hours. ๐Ÿ”‹

Was a bit stiff and sore this morning but that’s part of growing old. ๐Ÿ‘ด I did get a fairly early start despite being relatively cold in my bedroom because the heat is turned down. Listening again to John Denver๐ŸŽถ as the bus gently rocks on its journey downtown. ๐ŸšShould be a nice days with lots of sun streaming into the office, good for taking a break and studying the mountains.

Today will be sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 50 degrees at 4pm. One degree above normal, which is similiar to a typical day around March 28th. Calm wind becoming south around 6 mph in the afternoon. A year ago, we had cloudy in the morning, which became mostly sunny by afternoon. The high last year was 48 degrees. The record high of 78 was set in 1998. 6.7 inches of snow fell back in 1959.โ„

The sun will set at 7:16 pm with dusk around 7:44 pm, which is one minute and 9 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At sunset, look for clear skies ๐ŸŒ„ and temperatures around 42 degrees. There will be a south breeze at 6 mph. Today will have 12 hours and 30 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 54 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be mostly clear ๐ŸŒƒ, with a low of 30 degrees at 4am. Typical for tonight. South wind around 7 mph. In 2018, we had partly cloudy in the evening, which became mostly sunny by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 36 degrees. The record low of 3 occurred back in 1923.

Tomorrow will be mostly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 60 degrees at 3pm. 10 degrees above normal, which is similiar to a typical day around April 18th. That’s going to be super nice. South wind 9 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph. A year ago, we had cloudy in the morning, which became mostly sunny by afternoon. The high last year was 49 degrees. The record high of 85 was set in 1945. 14.2 inches of snow fell back in 1932.โ„

Tuesday came and went. It was a good day, maybe fairly busy at work but it made the time go by quickly.๐Ÿ’ผ Took the 6:45 bus home, a virtually brand new bus, and then rode the exercise bike ๐Ÿšฒ for a half hour or so then went out for my evening walk. Hot dogs and baked beans for dinner with some frozen pineapple ๐Ÿ and banana ๐ŸŒ slices for dessert. I’m not that much into health food but I’m on a budget and frozen fruit is often more tasty and affordable than junk food. It’s less packaging too.

Evening walk ๐Ÿšถ was pleasant with lots of stars. ๐ŸŒƒ Chilly though. Looking forward to nicer weather when I can sit out back again. I think after tomorrow night the heat will be done for the year although I don’t see any balmy nights in the near future on tap but the hard freezing weather is nearly done for the year. I’d love ๐Ÿ˜ nights when I can leave the windows open but not so hot I run the fan all night. The big box fan I have is remarkably energy hungry, using upwards of 60 watts each hour it’s run on high. I know fossil energy โšก is cheap but that seems awful wasteful. Sitting out back on a summers night listening to the spring peepers is really nice I must say. ๐Ÿธ Still too cold for that yet. For a while we had a Great Horned Owl in the neighborhood ๐Ÿญ who really gave a hoot.

Yesterday in the evening I went up to the old observation deck on the 31st floor of the Alfred E Smith Building ๐Ÿข which is primarily used as a state conference room nowadays with the doors to the deck are closed off most of the year. Interesting to see up there, it’s too bad it’s closed to the general public nowadays. Neat to see it.๐Ÿ“ท The anti jumping fence around the deck does kind of block the view though.

Finally set up my account with the state tax department to pay taxes quarterly to ensure I don’t risk an underpayment fine in 2020.๐Ÿ˜ข I keep cutting it closer each year and I really don’t want to pay a fine next year. Unfortunately there is no way to make automatic payments on and ongoing basis with the state tax department, although you can schedule four quarters of tax payments or out a full year on the website.๐Ÿ’ธ I’m going to just do enough so I have a margin of safety but hopefully only owe a small amount to the state next year. I mean I wouldn’t want the governor or the gestapo that he operates to profit on my interest.

Bought more milk at Stewart’s. ๐ŸฎMissplaced my milk card ๐Ÿ’ณ then found it later on. I have so many milk cards to redeem at some point in the future. I’m drinking less milk now though after discovering the wonders of cider vinegar and water though. ๐Ÿ Saves money.

Each day I briefly log onto Facebook to see what my clients and some of my friends are up to but I find it’s hard to leave it on for more than a few minutes. ๐Ÿ’ป I try to be very strategic with my use of social media – especially Facebook – updating the Save the Pine Bush page and my personal page, checking a few other things before shutting it down. It just brings much more joy to my life not getting swamped down by all of it. I think I would like Facebook better if it just was pictures of cattle, turkeys and deer.

Not a particularly nice weekend on tap. ๐Ÿ˜ž Saturday, a chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 68. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Maximum dew point of 50 at 1pm. Sunday, showers likely, mainly before 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 52. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Typical average high for the weekend is 51 degrees.

Again I have no idea what the weekend will look like for me ๐ŸŒฒbut I have no real plans. My best guess is that I will be working Sunday. Maybe Saturday I can do the Save the Pine Bush Hike but I’m not holding my breath on that. The weekend will certainly be fairly mild. I guess March is leaving like a mud crusted lamb that smells like manure and wet wool.

The following week I’ll probably stay in town, take my bottles and cans to the recycling center โ™ป. Like usually happens this time of year, I’m running out of room in the outside trash cans so I’m starting to stack the bottles and cans in my truck. Then maybe start packing my truck for camping. โ›บStill thinking ๐Ÿ’ญ about heading out a few days before Good Friday. โž• Probably still head out to the East Branch of the Sacandaga River and then maybe drive up through the Adirondacks to the North Country.

I do like my neighbors big jacked up truck. It makes mine look so small. ๐Ÿš› I just hate how all the kids in the neighborhood have nicer toys than me. So be it. Big Red is quite sweet on his own behalf and he’s paid for and seems to run better than my neighbors big diesel. But ultimately I think I primarily care more about eventually owning land and having fires to burn things whenever I want. ๐Ÿ”ฅ

In four weeks on April 24 the sun will be setting at 7:47 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 31 minutes and 53 seconds later then today. In 2018 on that day, we had partly sunny skies with rain showers and temperatures between 70 and 45 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 62 and 40 degrees. The record high of 81 degrees was set back in 2001.

I do look forward to the weekends up in the wilderness, getting away from all of it for a few days. ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฒ๐ŸŒณThen spending time down in the swimming ๐ŸŠ holes, kayaking and hiking in woods. The fires ๐Ÿ”ฅ, the cold beer ๐Ÿป, the music ๐ŸŽถ and the lights. ๐ŸŽ„

99 days until Independence Day this year. I know because it was hundred days when I wrote this blog post last night. ๐Ÿ“ It’s a Thursday this year and I assume they’ll give us off that Friday. ๐ŸŽ‡I’m thinking about a long weekend that weekend at the Moose River Plains although I might change my mind. Maybe drive up to Speculator Tree Farm on Wednesday night then to the Plains first thing on Independence Day. ๐ŸŽˆI could change my mind, and certainly Memorial Day Weekend is long before then.

Looking ahead, Arbor Day ๐ŸŒณ is a month away, May ๐Ÿ•Š is in 5 weeks, Memorial Day ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ is in 2 months, 8:30 PM Sunset ๏ธโ›ฑ๏ธ is in 10 weeks, Primary Day ๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ is in 13 weeks, Altamont Fair Opens ๐ŸŽก is in 20 weeks, State Fair Opens ๐ŸŽก is in 21 weeks, September 11th ๐Ÿ‡ธ is in 24 weeks, More Night then Day ๐ŸŒŒ is in 26 weeks and Inauguration Day 2021 ๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿป is in 95 weeks.

Sabbath Day Point

March 25, 2019 Morning

Good morning! Monday’s come back around again. Next Monday is April Fools Day ๐Ÿคก. Partly sunny around the bus stop ๐Ÿšby Valero. As I marked on Waze there is a cop ๐Ÿ‘ฎ hiding out at the church โ›ช parking ๐Ÿ…ฟ lot across the way. There is a north breeze at 8 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. Overall a pleasant morning with the snow melting away.

I expect a long somewhat busy week this upcoming week, leading up to April Fools Day.๐Ÿƒ Fortunately I have lots of dress clothes ๐Ÿ‘”so I should be set for the week after buying those pants two weeks ago and the dress shirts this week. This week the big car insurance ๐Ÿš™ bill is due as is rent on Friday. Maybe I’ll get my federal tax refund back this week though. ๐Ÿ’ธI should have enough money to pay for it all though. I did end up spend $100 between groceries and the shirts but my pantry was getting pretty bare and I needed personal supplies like deodorant.

Hopefully this won’t lead into the weekend but at least trout season starts next Monday. ๐ŸŽฃMight rain this weekend which could lead to some very high water levels. ๐Ÿ’ฆI need to renew my fishing license this week. It expires like April 14th but I want to order online and have it shipped to me to avoid the line. ๐Ÿ’ป Same price online as walking down to the DEC or any other retailer. I will need it for my Easter weekend camping trip. ๐Ÿ‡

Today will be sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 42 degrees at 3pm. Six degrees below normal, which is similiar to a typical day around March 11th. At least it will be sunny. Northwest wind 8 to 10 mph. A year ago, we had mostly sunny. The high last year was 44 degrees. The record high of 74 was set in 1910. 1.9 inches of snow fell back in 1960.โ„

Took a sleeping pill ๐Ÿ’Š before bed but all it did was make me fuzzy come the morning. Lately I’ve been having sleeping problems again. Maybe because it’s been chilly in my bedroom with the heat turned down now that the weather has moderated or maybe because I’m dreaming of nice nights in the wilderness. ๐ŸŒฒ๐ŸŒณโ›บ๐Ÿป That it I’m a fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ bug and all I’m dreaming about is burning things. ๐Ÿ˜‚ ๐Ÿ’ญ

I was on the fence about turning the heat on last evening as it was not expected to drop below freezing last night but I decided the morning might be cold as the heat ๐Ÿ”ฅ slowly leaked through the building as the night progressed. It was 63 degrees in my bedroom by the time I retired to bed, ๐Ÿ˜ด it got up to 66 degrees mid afternoon with the sun hitting the building. It was quite hot in the crawl space when I was in there putting my camping gear away and organizing it in preparation for the new year of camping. I opened up a window for a while but then quickly closed it.

The sun will set at 7:13 pm with dusk around 7:41 pm, which is one minute and 9 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At sunset, look for clear skies ๐ŸŒ„ and temperatures around 35 degrees. There will be a northwest breeze at 8 mph. Today will have 12 hours and 25 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 54 seconds over yesterday. Maybe a bit too chilly for tailgate drinking tonight, although nowadays I only drink apple cider vinger water, not beer, because I’m cheap and I don’t like getting drunk, as I’m getting old.

Tonight will be clear ๐ŸŒƒ, with a low of 19 degrees at 6am. 10 degrees below normal, which is similiar to a typical night around February 24th. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph. Going to need a little heat tonight. In 2018, we had mostly clear in the evening, which became mostly sunny by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 23 degrees. The record low of 2 occurred back in 1960. The negativity is done until November at this point I believe but I’d have to check the weather records.

Tomorrow will be sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 40 degrees at 4pm. Nine degrees below normal, which is similiar to a typical day around March 6th. North wind 6 to 9 mph. A year ago, we had mostly sunny. The high last year was 50 degrees. The record high of 74 was set in 1986. 6.1 inches of snow fell back in 1899.โ„

It was a nice enough of an evening last night that I sat out back for a while, looking at the stars โœจ with my feet propped up on the snow bank. Slowly but surely melting away. They still have a fair amount of snow left in the hill-towns when I went out to the folks house for Sunday dinner. I could have gone skiing ๐ŸŽฟ today if I had the time out there but my priority was cleaning the truck for camping and my early morning walk to Five Rivers.

Now that my truck is cleaned and unpacked and my camping gear is organized I’m ready for my first adventure of the year. โ›บ Well first I want to haul the bottles, cans and accumulated recyclable โ™ป plastics to the transfer station. I’m also thinking about a run to the scrap yard to recycle broken Christmas lights, old power cables and wire that are cracked, some broken chairs and other metal things that I might even get a buck or two to scrap. ๐Ÿ’ต Or that could wait – I just noticed how many broken and junk cables and aluminum tubing from broken chairs I had in my crawl space.๐Ÿ”Œ Every buck counts and plus it’s recycling, and no I won’t burn wire even when I do eventually own land and can have fires whenever I want ๐Ÿ”ฅ. Toxic stinky. I don’t expect to make much.

I’m continuing to work on various improvements to the blog. ๐Ÿ‘€I fix one bug ๐Ÿ›, I find another. The same is true with my VMS sign. Debugging is a constant struggle. I try to write good code ๐Ÿ“ but I have only a few classes in formal computer programming. ๐Ÿ’ป The rest I’ve learned hands on so my technique is not the best but I have learned a wide variety of languages over the years.

I’ve also been doing a lot of thinking and writing ๐Ÿ’ญ about many topics lately. I kind of like the freedom of having my personal blog and not having to address the nasty comments on Facebook. I might use Facebook a little going forward ๐Ÿ‘ค but I’m staying away from reading it more than five minutes, once a day now. My focus is the blog. I have some great photo blog posts and interesting fact type posts scheduled for next week.

I am very happy with the Oxford shirts I got at JC Penny.๐Ÿ˜€ They are comfortable and fit well. ๐Ÿ‘• I hope going forward I can find them online, hopefully at a slightly better price then $44 for two shirts — or $22. When Sears was open they had them for usually $16-18 a shirt, depending on the sales. That said, the Sears shirts didn’t hold up well during the end, as I think the material kept getting thinner and thinner as they cut costs, leading to sleeves wearing out prematurely.

I looked last week at my investment accounts last week when finishing my taxes and was very happy. ๐Ÿ˜Š But now I guess we are heading into a recession. Nice to dream while I still can.ย  I expect now that the yeild curve โคต is negative that the economy is slowing and markets will drop. As I’m continuing to invest both for the midterm and long term aka retirement, I think it’s good for me as I’ll get more shares for my money. It’s kind of like a sale at the grocery store. Unrealized losses are just that – they only exist as an imaginary number. Eventually I’ll have the money to buy land out in the country, ๐Ÿก๐Ÿฎ it’s just a matter of continuing to save and invest.

Cloudy but fairly mild this weekend. ๐Ÿ˜ž Saturday, a chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 63. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Maximum dew point of 45 at 1pm. Sunday, a chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 52. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Typical average high for the weekend is 51 degrees.

Still thinking about an extended Easter weekend of April to camp. โ›บ I think that would work best for me on many levels, assuming most of the snow is gone from the East Branch by then. Or maybe Central New York if I go that route. I look forward to more nights in the wilderness.๐ŸŒณ๐ŸŒฒ

In four weeks on Earth Day, April 22 ๐ŸŒŽ the sun will be setting at 7:45 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 31 minutes and 55 seconds later then today. In 2018 on that day, we had sunny and temperatures between 65 and 29 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 61 and 40 degrees. The record high of 86 degrees was set back in 1985. That’s a session day, so no camping out in the wilderness with my big jacked up truck, burning things I shouldn’t to celebrate Earth Day. Haha. Happy Monday, I’m quite the joker today.

Looking ahead, April Fools Day ๐Ÿคก is in 1 weeks, Tax Day ๐Ÿ’ฐ is in 3 weeks, Earth Day ๐ŸŒŽ is in 4 weeks, Memorial Day ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ is in 9 weeks, Latest Sunset ๐ŸŒ† is in 13 weeks, July ๐ŸŠ๐Ÿฟ is in 14 weeks, Cow Appreciation Day ๐Ÿ‚ is in 16 weeks, Last Sunset After 8 PM ๐ŸŒ† is in 20 weeks, Labor Day ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿญ is in 23 weeks, More Night then Day ๐ŸŒŒ is in 6 months and Columbus Day ๐Ÿ›ฅ๏ธ is in 28 weeks.

Under a cloud

March 19, 2019 Morning

Good morning! Happy Tuesday on this final day of calendar ๐Ÿ“… winter. Sunny and 29 degrees in here at CDTA Bus Stop #10595. ๐ŸŒž There is a west-northwest breeze at 5 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. Things will start to thaw out at around 10 am. ๐ŸŒก๏ธ

Cause he gets up in the morning,
And he goes to work at nine,
And he comes back home at five-thirty,
Gets the same train every time.
Cause his world is built round punctuality,
It never fails.”

-The Kinks, A Well Respected Man

Another cold โ„ morning when I first awoke. Frost or a dusting of snow on the ground, the heat was on and it was 54 degrees in my bedroom. That said today is the last full day of winter. Already warming up quickly with the sun. โ˜€ Before you know it my windows will be open and I’ll be enjoying the fresh air when I awake each morning. Even on a chilly summers morning, the fresh air is delightful. ๐Ÿƒ Plus I hate spending all that money on fossil fuels and warming the climate to avoid freezing the pipes.

It seems like the snow piles are continuing to melt away and all the signs point to spring. ๐ŸŒท Tomorrow is the first day of calendar spring ๐Ÿ“… and we now have more daylight then night every night. Still a ton of snow up north but I expect a lot of that to melt over the next month although ice will be in the mountains ๐Ÿ—ป until mid May.

Today will have increasing clouds โ˜, with a high of 44 degrees at 4pm. Two degrees below normal, which is similiar to a typical day around March 16th. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph. A year ago, we had mostly sunny in the morning, which became sunny by afternoon. The high last year was 35 degrees. The record high of 78 was set in 2012. 9.6 inches of snow fell back in 1971.โ„

I am quite happy to say to that my shirts weren’t so wrinkled this morning, being hung in the bathroom overnight where there is more humidity. I did spend some time though still ironing, but that’s just the nature of dressing up for work.๐Ÿ‘” I did make sure not to be wear the blazer that I need to bring to the dry cleaner to work today, and I did

The sun will set at 7:06 pm with dusk around 7:34 pm, which is one minute and 10 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At sunset, look for partly clear skies ๐ŸŒ„ and temperatures around 36 degrees. There will be a west-northwest breeze at 6 mph. Today will have 12 hours and 7 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 55 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be partly cloudy ๐ŸŒค, with a low of 22 degrees at 6am. Five degrees below normal, which is similiar to a typical night around March 7th. Light and variable wind. In 2018, we had clear in the evening, which became cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 15 degrees. The record low of 2 occurred back in 1967.

Tomorrow will be mostly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 53 degrees at 4pm. Seven degrees above normal, which is similiar to a typical day around April 3rd. South wind 5 to 10 mph. That will be a pleasant start to first day of spring. A year ago, we had mostly sunny in the morning, which became sunny by afternoon. The high last year was 37 degrees. The record high of 78 was set in 2012. 7.0 inches of snow fell back in 1944.โ„

Yesterday wasn’t too bad of a day at work. Left work around 6:45 pm although I didn’t get home until a little before 7:30 pm. I was tired ๐Ÿ˜ด but I rode the exercise bike for a while, and then I went for a walk around the super block past the high school. I cooked up pasta and with some canned potatoes and sausage. ๐Ÿฒ Not a half bad evening, almost the full moon. ๐ŸŒ• Hoping by the next full moon it will be warm enough I can sit outside and bathe in the moonlight.

I find quiting social media I save a lot of bandwidth on my phone ๐Ÿ“ฑ . I will check Facebook occasionally for work but with the new blog code I am planning to roll ๐Ÿฅ out on Wednesday, the first day of spring I will no longer be updating my Facebook page and I’ve decided to no longer post on my personal profile. I also removed the Flickr code which I don’t know if it works any more but kept the Twitter posts but I’ve deleted most of old tweets. ๐Ÿ”ฃ

Said and done, I’m essentially quitting social media. It’s not worth the psychological games it has become. I’m not going to disable but not delete my Facebook page, making it invisible to the world ๐ŸŒ for now, so if I want it again I can reactivate it but all the old pictures and posts on Facebook will disappear when I kill off my Facebook app. I’m content with my decision. I’ve always liked my blog better than the angry ๐Ÿ˜ก nest known as social media.

You can say my quitting of social media is like my quitting of drinking. ๐Ÿป I might go out and have a beer or two occasionally, probably getting a buzz quickly. But it’s not the have 2-3 beers every night or a thirty rack over a long weekend. It’s about moderation. Social media may on paper ๐Ÿ“„ be free for the user ๐Ÿ‘ค unlike beer but I think it’s just as costly to one’s health.

Tonight is another Borough Night at the Egg, this time Queens Night. ๐ŸŒ† Should be fun after work, although I plan to a stay away from the shots as I don’t want to have Wednesday morning be too painful. It should be fun sampling all the foods and stuff, having some social time with my colleagues. Plus it will be one less meal ๐Ÿด I’ll have to cook out of the remaining foods that I have at home.

Today is pay day for me which sounds good but I’m really cutting it close this month so almost all the money (after savings and retirement) will go to bills. ๐Ÿ’ธ March into April with taxes and car insurance ๐Ÿš™ is always tough on my budget. But I continue to save for a better tomorrow. ๐Ÿก Eventually I’ll have enough money to own land and live in a freer state out in the country.

I’ve been thinking about buying some inexpensive farm muck boots ๐Ÿ‘ข to wear in the woods during the mud season. My regular boots aren’t great in the deep mud that is common in spring and much too warm to boot. Not my expensive insulated hunting boots in case they get too close to the fire and melt a bit. But I want to hold off until closer to camping season in April, after a few more paychecks when money ๐Ÿ’ธ is less tight. My focus over the two pay periods just has to be remaining financially afloat.

I have a Go Pro knock off waterproof camera that I plan to use to start making videos when I’m out on the lake kayaking. ๐Ÿ“ท Should be some fun videos to post this summer. I started looking on Ali Express at camera clamp mounts for my kayak. I ended up looking at reviews on Amazon and I’ll either order there or on ebay probably in late April when I have a little more money. They’re not that expensive – under $20 and there is little savings by ordering from China compared to the United States.

I fixed several bugs to the VMS display in my bedroom ๐Ÿ“Ÿ last night but I plan to continue to work on it come later in the week to rearrange the order of the messages.

A picture perfect weekend on tap. ๐Ÿ˜Ž Saturday, mostly sunny, with a high near 39. Sunday, sunny, with a high near 55. Typical average high for the weekend is 47 degrees.

Sound like a pretty nice weekend to kick off the spring season. ๐ŸŒธ It looked like from my office window yesterday that there is still quite a bit of snow left in the mountains ๐Ÿ—ป so I could go cross country skiing ๐ŸŽฟ although the snow may not be great. Might still be a good day to enjoy some fresh air outside though. Three weeks until trout season ๐Ÿ  opens.

In four weeks on April 16 the sun will be setting at 7:38 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 32 minutes later then today. In 2018 on that day, we had rain and temperatures between 49 and 32 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 59 and 38 degrees. The record high of 91 degrees was set back in 2012.

Looking ahead, Constitution Day ๐Ÿ“œ is in 26 weeks, October ๐Ÿ›ฅ is in 28 weeks and Election Day 2020 ๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ is in 85 weeks.

8 Feet Snow Banks

March 17, 2019 Morning

Good morning! Happy St. Patrick’s Day ๐Ÿ€! I don’t think beer ๐Ÿป much less cheap beer died green in a polystyrene cup but I do like the idea ๐Ÿ’ก of people celebrating their heritage and community. Three weeks to 7:30 PM Sunset ๐ŸŒ‡.Dusk at that point will be almost at eight. Mostly summy and 33 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜ There is a west-northwest breeze at 10 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. Going to be another fairly raw March day.

Kind of chilly waking up this morning. โ„ I’m thinking the heat ๐Ÿ”ฅ must have kicked on for a while last night but I can’t imagine it ran too much but it’s still a chilly 54 degrees in my bedroom. I can’t wait until winter is permanently done. At least with the sun โ˜€ I expect most of next week won’t push the heat too hard but I doubt I’ll be keeping the windows open at all. โฌ›

Today will have a slight chance of snow showers before 11am. Partly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 36 degrees at 4pm. Nine degrees below normal, which is similiar to a typical day around February 22nd. It could be worse, but I’m tired of February weather. Get me some June weather. Northwest wind 10 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. A year ago, we had partly cloudy in the morning, which became mostly sunny by afternoon. The high last year was 38 degrees. The record high of 75 was set in 1990. 4.1 inches of snow fell back in 1982.โ„ Getting to that time of year when snow records aren’t that big of deal.

With my frying ๐Ÿณ pan reseasoned, and no longer tasting like rotten eggs and mildew, I made up another delicious breakfast of blueberry pancakes. No more abuse of cast iron, I promise. I can’t tell if my frying pan is an authentic Griswold but if it is it actually is a fairly valuable collectable. I have my doubts – it’s a hand me down from my parents but after the bankruptcy of Griswold in 1950s many clones were made. It’s a good quality clone if it’s real. I don’t use Teflon as I always scratch it up so I just have to make sure the cast iron pots are well lubricated.

Heading out now for a walk ๐Ÿšถ on the rail ๐Ÿšˆ trail. ๐Ÿ‘Ÿ Cold but sunny with the wind ๐Ÿƒ. Fresh air is good. Then in the afternoon I might go for a short hike at Keleher Preserve then out to my parents house for Saint Patricks Day dinner. ๐Ÿ€I want to be home by 7:30 so I don’t have to drive home in the dark if possible although tonight shouldn’t be too dark with the moon light. ๐ŸŒ” Skipping shopping for the week as I have most the groceries I need and I’m trying to stretch my budget so I can make it through April.

The sun will set at 7:04 pm with dusk around 7:32 pm, which is one minute and 10 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At sunset, look for partly clear skies ๐ŸŒ„ and temperatures around 31 degrees. There will be a west-northwest breeze at 10 mph. Today will have 12 hours and one minute of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 55 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be partly cloudy ๐ŸŒค, with a low of 21 degrees at 4am. Five degrees below normal, which is similiar to a typical night around March 3rd. Maximum wind chill around 24 at 6pm; Northwest wind 5 to 8 mph becoming light and variable after midnight. In 2018, we had clear in the evening, which became mostly sunny by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 7 degrees. The record low of -8 occurred back in 1900.

As previously noted, there are 3 weeks until 7:30 PM Sunset ๐ŸŒ‡ when the sun will be setting at 7:28 pm with dusk at 7:57 pm. On that day in 2018, we had a rather cold but sunny day with occasional snow showers and temperatures between 40 and 25 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 55 degrees. We hit a record high of 87 back in 2010. Anything can happen in early April.

Ashokan Reservoir Bend

March 16, 2019 Night

Good evening! Cloudy and 32 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜ There is a west-northwest breeze at 13 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. Remarkably chilly out with the breeze. Things will start to thaw out at tomorrow around 11 am. ๐ŸŒก๏ธ

Today was kind of lazy day, working on some code and other projects ๐Ÿ“™walked down to the library for a bit and watched some YouTube videos ๐ŸŽฅI had previously download. Turned my bedroom lights green for a bit but I enjoyed being out of the busyiness of the week that was. The upside of today is that it was warm enough that the heat remained off in my apartment for the bulk of the day. Kind of raw for going for a walk around the neighborhood, ๐Ÿšถ it was sleeting pretty hard when I walked down to the library earlier. I really should have ridden the excerise bike ๐Ÿšฒ more or gone for a walk but I was kind of fried from the week that was. Since reseasoning my cast iron skillet and using ample oil at low temperatures I was able to make awesome omlets again at home without that awful off taste. ๐Ÿณ Good breakfast today for sure.

Tonight will have a chance of snow showers, mainly before midnight. Mostly clear ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 23 degrees at 6am. Three degrees below normal, which is similiar to a typical night around March 10th. Maximum wind chill around 14 at 6am; West wind 10 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. In 2018, we had light snow in the evening, which became partly cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 15 degrees. The record low of -1 occurred back in 1916.

Tonight will have a Waxing Gibbous Moon ๐ŸŒ” with 87% illuminated. The moon will set at 5:03 am. The Worm Moon ๐ŸŒ• is on Tuesday night with partly cloudy skies. The sun will rise at 7:04 am with the first light at 6:36 am, which is one minute and 44 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ„ Tonight will have 11 hours and 59 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 2 minutes and 55 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will be mostly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 37 degrees at 2pm. Eight degrees below normal, which is similiar to a typical day around February 25th. Northwest wind 11 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Another cold day but at least fairly sunny. ๐Ÿƒ It could be worse if was January though. I’m ready to shut the heat off for the winter but gawd is not conforming. A year ago, we had partly cloudy in the morning, which became mostly sunny by afternoon. The high last year was 38 degrees. The record high of 75 was set in 1990. 4.1 inches of snow fell back in 1982.โ„

Going to check the oil ๐Ÿš—in the truck and fill the windshield washer reservior, bake some brownies and visit my parents house ๐Ÿก tomorrow for Sunday dinner. They are making corn beef ๐Ÿƒ and cabbage. ๐Ÿ€Should be a good Saint Patricks Day. On the way out I’ll probably stop at Keheler Preserve and go for a walk there. I’m still trying to save gas and miles at least until the billing cycle closes on my credit card, so I don’t have to move money around to close out April and can make my April road trip a reality. Camp. โ›บ

In four weeks on April 13 the sun will be setting at 7:35 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 32 minutes and 5 seconds later then tonight. In 2018 on that day, we had partly sunny and temperatures between 63 and 40 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 57 and 37 degrees. The record high of 87 degrees was set back in 1977.

It got pretty nice out in last evening, it was 70 degrees in my apartment when I got home. Very comfortable. ๐Ÿ˜Š It had cleared out mid afternoon so I had a quick dinner ๐Ÿฒ and went down to the park.

I didn’t bring a book ๐Ÿ“™ as I know the sun still sets pretty early and I had my phone ๐Ÿ“ฑ to play with. I thought ๐Ÿ’ญ about walking ๐Ÿšถ the nature trail but the park โ›ฒ was very soggy from the recently melted snow with still frost in the ground below the snow.

Sitting down at the park a man approached and asked if he could sit down on the bench next to me. ๐Ÿ‘ฎ He looked a bit like a police officer or maybe a park staff person, wearing a yellow construction ๐Ÿšง vest like some of the officers do on traffic duty. I honestly figured it was a new park manager ๐ŸŽ„ just reminding people that the park closes up at dusk ๐ŸŒ† except for around the tennis courts ๐ŸŽพ.

He asked if I was from around here. I told him sure, I live down the street. He asked about where I worked, and told him about my job downtown. I told him I came down for a walk ๐Ÿšถ, some fresh air and to get the free Wi-Fi ๐Ÿ“ถ. I said it was a nice sunset. I said I like waking because it’s healthy and driving is kind of expensive.

That’s when things got kind of weird. ๐Ÿ˜œ He started talking about walking around Troy then asked if I heard the voices talking to him. I said it was getting late and I needed to head home ๐Ÿก. He just continued on the bench, and I walked away. He said, God bless and make sure to keep yourself clean.๐Ÿšญ I’m glad that I don’t smoke or drink much anymore. It’s so unhealthy.

The whole situation was really kind of odd, especially because he was dressed nicely and well groomed like a traffic officer or park personnel with the uniform vest on. Maybe he was a town employee who has some mental issues but does a good job as a maintenence guy working ๐Ÿ‘ท for the parks department. Not appearing somebody who was mentally ill or for that matter inarticulate. But the guy really creeped me out. I guess some people are just odd balls. โšฝ I’ve never had that happen before over the nearly 12 years I’ve lived in Delmar. He seemed harmless but you never know.

I walked home ๐Ÿก and got milk ๐Ÿฎ at Stewart’s. I sat out back and had a beer ๐Ÿบ that I brought home from Brooklyn Night. After the sun set the temperature rapidly dropped, especially with all the melting snow around. I went inside, watched some videos and retired to bed.

Looking ahead, Arbor Day ๐ŸŒณ is in 6 weeks, 8 PM Sunset ๐ŸŒ‡ is in 7 weeks, Average High is 70 ๐Ÿฎ is in 2 months, June ๐Ÿน is in 11 weeks, Fathers Day ๐Ÿ‘จ is in 3 months, Average High is 80 ๐Ÿ– is in 14 weeks, Hottest Time of the Year ๐Ÿ˜… is in 17 weeks, Last Sunset After 8:30 PM ๐ŸŒ† is in 4 months and Average High Falls To 79 ๏ธDegrees โ›ฑ๏ธ๏ธ๏ธ is in 23 weeks.
