Good morning! Happy Foggy Tuesday in the Albany! 🌁 Four weeks to Don’t Cry over Spilled Milk Day 🥛. It’s important to strip the teats to prevent mastitis. That’s the problem with thinking 💭 in quarters. At any rate it, it’s a pretty foggy out there, a little over the freezing at the bus stop by Valero. Calm wind. But what will I know when I’m in my windowless office?

Today will have a slight chance of rain after 3pm. Partly sunny 🌞, with a high of 43 degrees at 2pm. 13 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around March 12th. I like March weather in January, especially the coldest week of the year. Going to be colder next week. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 20%. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 28 degrees. The record high of 66 was set in 1932. 9 inches of snow fell back in 1999.❄

Solar noon 🌞 is at 12:05 pm with sun having an altitude of 26° from the due south horizon (-44.8° vs. 6/21). Almost summer or maybe not be we are creeping in the right direction. Be thirty before you know it. The golden hour 🏅 starts at 4:02 pm with the sun in the southwest (234°). 📸 The sunset is in the west-southwest (241°) starting at 4:42 pm and lasts for 3 minutes and 18 seconds with dusk around 5:16 pm, which is one minute and 9 seconds later than yesterday. 🌇 The best time to look at the stars is after 5:52 pm. At sunset, look for rain 🌧 and temperatures around 41 degrees. There will be a south-southeast breeze at 8 mph. Today will have 9 hours and 22 minutes of daytime, an increase of one minute and 33 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have a chance of rain or drizzle before 7pm, then a chance of drizzle between 7pm and 1am. Mostly cloudy 🌧, with a low of 35 degrees at 6am. 21 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around April 8th. South wind 5 to 9 mph becoming west after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. In 2019, we had partly cloudy skies in the evening, which became light snow by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 10 degrees. The record low of -20 occurred back in 1957.

I am really watching too many YouTube videos these days 📹 while riding the exercise bike 🚲. I did get in an hour reading 📖 last night but I made zero progress on the John Wolcott project index 📇. Data entry is kind of boring, reminds me of my desk job too much. 💼 After spending so much time at work sitting I just want to move and there is so much dreaming of a better tomorrow by watching those off grid and homesteading videos I’ve downloaded from the YouTube video. I’m burning calories at least but I’m ignoring many other needs in life.

I told somebody last night that I will sign Bernie Sanders petitions. ✊ While I can only legally sign one of the petitions I don’t often get asked to sign petitions. I don’t have to necessarily have to vote ❎ for him in the primary but I probably will. I kind of also like Elizabeth Warren but I still a few months to decide which bubble to fill out on the scantron. ✒

Winter returns for King’s Weekend. ⛄ Saturday, snow, mainly after 1pm. High near 31. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Sunday, snow likely. Cloudy, with a high near 34. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Typical average high for the weekend is 30 degrees. Yeah, I don’t think Madison County will be on the agenda.

🌹🌻🌼Only 65 days remain until the first day of calendar spring!🌹🌻🌼.

Looking ahead, there are 4 weeks until Don’t Cry over Spilled Milk Day 🥛 when the sun will be setting at 5:21 pm with dusk at 5:50 pm. On that day in 2019, we had partly cloudy, snow showers and temperatures between 33 and 18 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 34 degrees. We hit a record high of 59 back in 1981.

January 13, 2020 Night

Good evening! Mostly cloudy and 37 degrees in Delmar, NY. ☁ Calm wind. Temperatures will drop below freezing at tomorrow around 5 am. ☃️

It was a nice mild evening for my evening walk 🚶. I also road the exercise bike 🚲 for nearly an hour after dinner. 🍲 Read 📖 for about an hour. Now I’m getting ready for lights out as it’s nearly ten 🔟 o’clock.

Dinner was macaroni and cheese with frozen sweet corn 🌽 and diced tomatoes 🍅. Those canned diced tomatoes add a lot of kick to macaroni and cheese, top it all off with some grated cheese up top. 🐮 Plus serve it with a good glass of milk and its dairyific! Gotta love them cows. Not a lot of waste in packaging and an inexpensive meal.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy 🌥, with a low of 31 degrees at 6am. 17 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around March 29th. Light southwest wind. In 2019, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 8 degrees. The record low of -24 occurred back in 1957.

Tonight will have a Waining Gibbous 🌒 Moon with 86% illuminated. The darkest hour is at 12:05 am, followed by dawn at 6:53 am, and sun starting to rise at 7:24 am in the east-southeast (119°) and last for 3 minutes and 19 seconds. Sunrise is 22 seconds earlier than yesterday. 🌄 The golden hour ends at 8:09 am with sun in the southeast (127°) at an altitude of 6°. Tonight will have 14 hours and 38 minutes of darkness, a decrease of one minute and 32 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will have a chance of showers, mainly after 3pm. Partly sunny 🌞, with a high of 39 degrees at 2pm. Nine degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around March 1st. Light and variable wind becoming south 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 28 degrees. The record high of 66 was set in 1932. 9 inches of snow fell back in 1999.❄

In four weeks on February 10 the sun will be setting in the west-southwest (251°) at 5:20 pm,🌄 which is 35 minutes and 37 seconds later then tonight. In 2019 on that day, we had mostly cloudy, snow showers and temperatures between 33 and 17 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 33 and 16 degrees. By then things will be warming up a bit, well in theory. The record high of 53 degrees was set back in 1955. Who knows, this year we could best that but it seems like soon we will be in a cold spell. But the warm weather so far this season has made up for higher heating bills later in the year I guess.

Looking more and more like a big snowstorm ❄ next weekend but we will wait and see. No guarantees but I still see a cooling trend by next weekend. I really doubt my trip to Brookfield will be an reality but I could camp after the snow storm somewhere locally. Or just stay home.

Looking ahead, Martin Luther King Day 🖤 is in 1 week, Clean Your Computer Day 🧹 is in 4 weeks, Presidents Day 👴 is in 5 weeks, Read Across America Day 📚 is in 7 weeks, Worm Moon 🌕 is in 8 weeks, 7 PM Sunset 🌆 is in 2 months, Arbor Day 🌳 is in 15 weeks, 8 PM Sunset 🌇 is in 16 weeks, Flower Moon 🌕 is in 18 weeks, Memorial Day 🇺🇸 is in 19 weeks, June 🍹 is in 20 weeks and Average High is 80 🏖 is in 23 weeks.

January 13, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Happy Make Your Dream Come True Day 🏡! Take it Malvina Reynolds with your very white hair and cateye glasses 👓. Her music 🎶 was very old 👴 and subversive and I hate vinyl siding and green grass lawns free of dandelions unless of course you have a goat 🐐 chained up to a tree in the front yard. On this Monday, the 13th of January.

Little boxes on the hillside,
Little boxes made of ticky tacky
Little boxes on the hillside,
Little boxes all the same,
There’s a pink one and a green one
And a blue one and a yellow one
And they’re all made out of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same.

That think my dream involves more four wheelers, more fire, more livestock and guns than vinyl siding and chemical treated lawns.🚙 And I like tin roofs as it means a lot less for the landfill every few years. 💭 The idea of surburbanite living with an SUV, a fancy pretentious looking house, weekly garbage service and grid-tied power, does absolutely nothing for me.🚜 Probably more like a tractor supply commercial, or actually real life like the people in places like South Brookfield and Bedford County Penna live their lives.🐮

Mostly cloudy and 30 degrees at the Valero waiting for the local bus 🚍 as I am dress up for the session day today. ☁ There is a southeast breeze at 5 mph. 🍃. Things will start to thaw out at around 9 am. 🌡️ It looks like the bus will be on time, and I’ll probably be in early to work, probably the first int he office. But early to rise means it’s another chance to get ahead, make a better future for mysellf.

Spent way too much time ironing shirts 👚 this morning. For some reason they came out of the dryer very wrinkled. ♒I am thinking the issue was they were a bit damp. But I ironed all the shirts I need for the week this morning and to ensure they’re good and wrinkle free, I have them hung in the bathtub 🛁 shower curtain rod so they absorb the moisture in the air in the bathroom. You have to know it’s steamy in there when the bathroom steam set off the bedroom smoke detector on my way out to the bus 🚍. Then I knocked a bunch of papers loose 📄 but at least I caught the early bus in plenty of time.

Today will have patchy drizzle between noon and 3pm. Mostly cloudy 🌥, with a high of 39 degrees at 1pm. Nine degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around March 1st. Spring is coming, or so I tell myself. South wind 5 to 8 mph. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 23 degrees. The record high of 71 was set in 1932. 13.1 inches of snow fell back in 1964.❄ Back when cars were real-wheel drive, and you threw them away at your friendly local landfill every 4-5 years.

Solar noon 🌞 is at 12:05 pm with sun having an altitude of 25.8° from the due south horizon (-45° vs. 6/21). Yeap, we have to wait for 4 pm for the golden hour to start. 🌟 The golden hour 🏅 starts at 4:00 pm with the sun in the southwest (233°). 📸 Not only is the golden hour great for photography 📷 but it is also good for seeing a wild life. I saw a shit ton of deer bushwhacking back to my truck yesterday after the golden hour started yesterday. Went through some brambles and probably picked up ticks 🐜 but so far didn’t see any but I should have checked again.

The sunset is in the west-southwest (241°) starting at 4:41 pm and lasts for 3 minutes and 19 seconds with dusk around 5:15 pm, which is one minute and 7 seconds later than yesterday. 🌇 I think the sun will be due east on the first day of spring, which if math correct is 270 degrees west. The best time to look at the stars is after 5:51 pm. At sunset, look for mostly cloudy skies ☁ and temperatures around 38 degrees. There will be a south-southeast breeze at 6 mph. Today will have 9 hours and 20 minutes of daytime, an increase of one minute and 29 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy 🌥, with a low of 30 degrees at 6am. 16 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around March 27th. Calm wind. In 2019, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 8 degrees. The record low of -24 occurred back in 1957.

Snowy weekend weekend on tap to celebrate King’s birthday. ❄ Saturday, snow. High near 34. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Sunday, a chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 28. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Typical average high for the weekend is 30 degrees.

🌹🌻🌼Only 66 days remain until the first day of calendar spring!🌹🌻🌼

But first a big snow storm on Saturday or maybe not. ❄ But we don’t know for sure but it could be a half of foot or more this weekend. 🎿 Maybe good skiing but I doubt I’ll get out to Madison County especially if it’s going to be pretty cold and snowy. But by then it will be only sixty odd days until calendar 📅 spring although that’s a pretty meaningless thing with the often variable weather of March and April. But at least with the first day of spring in 66 and 2/3rd days away trout season 🎣 is will be nigh.

Next Monday is Martin Luther King Day 🖤 when the sun will be setting at 4:52 pm with dusk at 5:23 pm. On that day in 2019, we had snow and temperatures between 21 and 0 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 30 degrees. We hit a record high of 53 back in 2006.

January 11, 2020 Night

Good evening! Cloudy and 60 degrees in Delmar, NY. ☁ Slight breeze to the south. 🍃 The dew point is 53 degrees. Temperatures will drop below freezing at tomorrow around 9 pm. ☃️

One of those unusual but warm January days that it gets up to the sixties. ♨ Days like that seem happen darn near every year now during the winter as the climate in Albany has warmed so much in recent years that occasionally early summer weather now happens from time to time every winter. While by no means constant it seems like every winter there is at least one night 🌃 nice enough to sit out back for a few hours.

Maybe we just lucked 🍀 out as they got rain ☔ and cold conditions in Syracuse and Western NY. But I took full advantage of the nice weather to read 📖 out back under a lamp plugged into the truck and the inverter. I doubt it would have been as nice out in Brookfield, they got freezing rain last night. Plus I had a lot to do today with the documentary filming 📹 which came out fine, plus buying groceries and toping off the fuel ⛽ in Big Red. I don’t want to let the fuel not stay close to full in case Trump 🎺 does something crazy with Iran and blow up the global oil markets.

I brought my reusable bag to Walmart 🛄 but apparently they still had plastic bags. I guess it’s good to get back in the habit. I am still thinking about getting plastic milk crates 💭 to bring my groceries home as they’re easier to hose off and handle. I checked to see if they had anything similar in store but I couldn’t find any. It looks like I could order them online though. I have an old milk crate around for my paper 📄 trash for recycling ♻ but I want something cleaner for bringing food home.

Only spent $42 on groceries this week, although after getting home I wish I had gotten more pasta sauce 🍝 and pan spray. Also butter. I probably should have made a list 📃. I don’t normally go shopping on the weekdays but this week I might have to run to the store or maybe I can stop on the bus ride home.

Tonight will have showers likely, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 3am. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. 🌧 Low of 59 degrees at 10pm. 44 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around June 19th. Maximum dew point of 57 at 3am. 🏖️ South wind around 17 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. In 2019, we had clear skies in the evening, which became cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 12 degrees. The record low of -26 occurred back in 1968.

Tonight will have a Waning Gibbous 🌖 Moon with 98% illuminated. The darkest hour is at 12:04 am, followed by dawn at 6:54 am, and sun starting to rise at 7:25 am in the east-southeast (120°) and last for 3 minutes and 20 seconds. Sunrise is 17 seconds earlier than yesterday. 🌄 The golden hour ends at 8:10 am with sun in the southeast (127°) at an altitude of 6°. Tonight will have 14 hours and 41 minutes of darkness, a decrease of one minute and 25 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will have showers likely, mainly before 10am. Mostly sunny, with a temperature rising to near 62 by 8am, then falling to around 39 during the remainder of the day. Breezy, with a south wind 14 to 21 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 26 degrees. The record high of 63 was set in 2018. 12.8 inches of snow fell back in 2011.

I’d like to go out for a walk in the morning walk 🚶 before it gets cold out later in the day but it all depends on how long the rain ☔ sticks around. I plan on getting up at 6:30 am tomorrow to maintain healthy sleep habits and maximize my day. If it’s decent out at dawn I’ll go for a walk right away or otherwise I’ll make a queche. 🍳 Even if it is nice enough to walk I’ll probably make the queche when I get home.

Reality hits in the morning, and I’ll have to close my windows. ⬜ Always werid to hear the road noise and people talking out on the street with the windows open. But I’m definitely enjoying the fresh air. Earlier I didn’t have the windows open but after I heard some one on Facebook talking about their windows open and the fact it was so mild earlier I decided my windows must be open tonight. I didn’t open the storm windows in my bedroom, just the other ones.

In four weeks on February 8 the sun will be setting in the west-southwest (250°) at 5:17 pm,🌄 which is 35 minutes and 14 seconds later then tonight. In 2019 on that day, we had rain showers, cloudy and temperatures between 45 and 25 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 33 and 16 degrees. The record high of 52 degrees was set back in 1925.

I was kind of hoping to get camping next weekend ⛺ but it looks like the mild weather won’t last and next Saturday might actually be a big snow storm. ❄ It’s a long ways off but it looks like some cold weather is pushing in after tomorrow morning and it will be cold and probably much more snowy the second half of the month. I’ll forget about sleeping 😴 with the windows open until late March or early April during the next big heat bubble.

Looking ahead, Winnie the Pooh Day 🍯 is in 1 weeks, 5 PM Sunset 🌆 is in 2 weeks, February 🌧 is in 3 weeks, Don’t Cry over Spilled Milk Day 🥛 is a month away, Average High is 50 🌸 is in 11 weeks, Average High is 60 🌼 is in 14 weeks, Average High is 70 🐮 is in 18 weeks, Memorial Day Weekend Starts 🏕️ is in 19 weeks, Last Day of Session 🏛 is in 23 weeks and Summer ️⛱️ is in 23 weeks.

I better think about sleeping 😴. I’m tired and I plan once again to be awake by 6:30 am tomorrow. I might even start getting up at six come the summer and doing a morning walk 🚶 before the heat of the day. But for now I want to maintain a constant sleep schedule for good health. It’s going to be so nice sleeping with the windows open!

Bridge Evening

January 11, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Happy Saturday. Finally the weekend! Next Saturday is Winnie the Pooh Day 🍯. Cloudy and 51 degrees at the CDTA Bus Stop #449. ☁ Breezy, ️18 mph breeze from the south 🌬 with gusts up to 32 mph 💨💨💨. The dew point is 46 degrees. Temperatures will drop below freezing at tomorrow around 9 pm. ☃️

I was up bright and early today at 6:30 AM but after getting up I ended up wasting time, I mean using it productively working on maps and content for the blog. But my thing wasn’t to be super prodcutive, it was to establish a better sleeping routine, getting up early each morning on weekends and weekdays alike. 🌅 I now try to be in bed by 9 PM or so, and asleep by 10 PM. I just think I’ve been staying up too late, and too rushed in the morning, and it’s much better for health to not sleep in on the weekends.

I needed milk 🐮 so I went to Stewart’s and got milk and ice cream 🍨as the sale goes on to Sunday. Got half off my gallon of milk as my milk card 💳 was fully stamped. Lately I’ve not been drinking so much milk as I’m a big fan of sugary apple 🍏 juice. That said it’s I don’t drink alcohol anymore at home and don’t have sweets at home 🍬 but I do have occasional sweets at work. They do have the best ice cream and it’s a true half gallon. 🍦I Crumbs along the Mohawk. Yum. 😋

This morning with the thawed out ground rain expected, you could smell them out hauling manure 💩 at the farm down the road. Good stuff, makes the corn 🌽 and hay grow well 🌾 and really is the best stuff for fertile fields come next year. Cow poop, soiled hay, and rotted silage is a lot more than just a stinky source of nitrogen. It really does rebuild the land. 🚜 And milk is still God’s best beverage 🍵 to say nothing of cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese and ice cream. Pretty much can make everything out of milk. Plus everybody loves cows even if living near a farm can be pungent at times. 🐄

That said, I was kind of late to the meeting I was supposed to be at this morning because I got working on a map and some research for some projects for the blog. 🗾 I’ve been a bit lazy about creating new content for the blog, spending too much time on the exercise bike 🚲 and the YouTube. I just spend too much times day dreaming about far away places from the world I’m in and the very budge basement office 🏢 I work in with no views. I got so spoiled when I worked in the Alfred E Smith building with the view of the mountains and the amazing sunsets 🌇.

Today will have a chance of showers, mainly after 5pm. Cloudy 🌦, with a high of 60 degrees at 3pm. 30 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around April 18th. Maximum dew point of 50 at 4pm. Breezy, with a south wind 16 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 24 degrees. The record high of 57 was set in 1975. 8 inches of snow fell back in 1922.❄

Busy day today. Pine Bush meeting in the morning and then filming 📹 the Reszin Adams documentary. We are still trying to figure out the camera and the best way to produce the video as none of us, the myself the camera man included, know what the hell we are doing. I’m sure though our professional producer will give us some tips. We have nice microphones and lights but I can only guess how to set it all up. I was debating about taking the bus 🚍 versus driving 🚘 but I will probably drive so I can get groceries afterwards and so I don’t accidentally get stuck in the rain waiting for the bus ☔ for forty five minutes. The buses move fast on the weekends but the schedule is thin compared to the weekdays.

Solar noon 🌞 is at 12:03 pm with sun having an altitude of 25.5° from the due south horizon (-45.3° vs. 6/21). The golden hour 🏅 starts at 3:57 pm with the sun in the southwest (233°). 📸 The sunset is in the west-southwest (241°) starting at 4:39 pm and lasts for 3 minutes and 20 seconds with dusk around 5:13 pm, which is one minute and 6 seconds later than yesterday. 🌇 The best time to look at the stars is after 5:48 pm. At sunset, look for rain 🌧 and temperatures around 60 degrees. The dew point will be 50 degrees. Breezy, 16 mph breeze ⛅ from the south with gusts up to 29mph. Today will have 9 hours and 17 minutes of daytime, an increase of one minute and 23 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will rain, with thunderstorms also possible after 3am. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. 🌧 Low of 55 degrees at 6am. 41 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around June 9th. Maximum dew point of 53 at 2am. 🏖️ South wind 13 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. In 2019, we had clear skies in the evening, which became cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 12 degrees. The record low of -26 occurred back in 1968.

🌹🌻🌼Only 68 days remain until the first day of calendar spring!🌹🌻🌼

I am watching the forecast for next weekend to see if I can get out of town. ❄ Looks really snowy next weekend so I guess I should just go ahead and enjoy today even wiyj my busy schedule.

As previously noted, next Saturday is Winnie the Pooh Day 🍯 when the sun will be setting at 4:49 pm with dusk at 5:20 pm. On that day in 2019, we had snow showers, mostly cloudy and temperatures between 35 and 21 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 30 degrees. We hit a record high of 59 back in 1973.

Snow at Base of Tower

January 10, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Tonight is the Wolf Moon 🌕! Four weeks to Save the Pine Bush Turns 42 🦋. Partly cloudy and 36 degrees at the Elm Ave Park & Ride – CDTA. ⛅ Light breeze 🍃. A very pleasant morning that feels more like late March or early April then the coldest week of the year. Maybe colder by next weekend but still not super cold. I bet it will be a lot colder come February. Even with the warmer climate these days we still get at least one good artic blast each winter. ❄ But in the mean time my heat won’t be running much at all this weekend. I like saving energy says the boy in the big jacked up truck who is taking the bus to work. 🚍

Today will have a chance of rain, mainly after 3pm. Mostly cloudy 🌧, with a high of 45 degrees at 5pm. 15 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around March 17th. South wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 32 degrees. The record high of 55 was set in 2016. 7.3 inches of snow fell back in 1984.❄

Solar noon 🌞 is at 12:03 pm with sun having an altitude of 25.4° from the due south horizon (-45.5° vs. 6/21). The golden hour 🏅 starts at 3:57 pm with the sun in the southwest (233°). 📸 By next week the evening golden hour won’t be until after 4 pm. The sunset is in the west-southwest (240°) starting at 4:38 pm and lasts for 3 minutes and 21 seconds with dusk around 5:12 pm, which is one minute and 5 seconds later than yesterday. 🌇 The best time to look at the stars is after 5:48 pm. At sunset, look out for possible rain showers 🌧 and temperatures around 44 degrees. There will be a south breeze at 10 mph. Today will have 9 hours and 16 minutes of daytime, an increase of one minute and 20 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have a chance of rain. Mostly cloudy 🌧, with a low of 40 degrees at 7pm. 26 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around April 22nd. South wind 8 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. In 2019, we had light snow in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 12 degrees. The record low of -25 occurred back in 1968.

Tomorrow will have a chance of rain, mainly after 2pm. Cloudy 🌧, with a high of 60 degrees at 3pm. 30 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around April 18th. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. Maximum dew point of 53 at 6am. Typical average high for the weekend is 30 degrees.

The Hudson River is really choppy 🌊 with some white caps heading down river. Maybe it’s just the tide going out with the full 🌕 moon tonight. Definitely wouldn’t want to be in a kayak on the river right now, it almost looks like white water or right below a dam. Plus I bet the water is really cold.

🌹🌻🌼Only 69 days remain until the first day of calendar spring!🌹🌻🌼

I am still thinking about next weekend heading out to Madison County for Martin Luther King Day. 🏕 It looks like the weather might be closer to normal temperatures, and it all depends if we have precipitation or not. It will probably not have a lot of snow out there by next week, so camping at the Moscow Hill Horse Camp, which is on the asphalt road wouldn’t be a problem. Maybe do a little hiking or skiing around there, enjoy the rural scenery with all it’s earthy browns and smells. 🐮 It’s like being in a totally different land then Albany.

Looking ahead, there are 4 weeks until Save the Pine Bush Turns 42 🦋 when the sun will be setting at 5:16 pm with dusk at 5:45 pm. I was talking to one of the Save the Pine Bush leaders from 1978 and said I bet you wouldn’t be fighting development in the Pine Bush in 2020. 🌲🌲On that day in 2019, we had partly cloudy, mild, rain showers and temperatures between 47 and 36 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 33 degrees. We hit a record high of 48 back in 2005.
