Good evening! Mostly cloudy and 52 degrees in Delmar, NY. ☁ There is a south-southeast breeze at 9 mph. πŸƒ. The dew point is 42 degrees. The skies will clear Wednesday around 1 pm.

I am back home 🏑 as it’s going to rain tomorrow in Central NY and quite honestly I don’t want to drive home at 5 or 6 pm tomorrow in the dark especially in rain. Plus working all day under a tarp or in the truck doesn’t seem like much fun.

To be sure, it was a beautiful weekend πŸ‚ even if clouds pushed in early on Sunday. No rain β˜” but it was cold on Cherry Ridge πŸ’ Camping Area πŸ• and I didn’t have the whole area so I couldn’t listen to Jason Aldean as loud as I wanted 🎢 while getting drunk 🍻 next to roaring fire πŸ”₯. But the fire was big enough for a while that I was plenty to warm next to it.

I am cleaning out the cooler now ❇️ and I’ll get things ready to put back in the crawl space by morning. Then things will be packed up. With the late sunrise πŸŒ… and my busy schedule I’m not planning any further trips β›Ί until November. This year I doubt I’ll have enough time to take a full week off of work though in November as I often do.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy πŸŒ₯, with a low of 41 degrees at 5am. Three degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around October 12th. Southeast wind 7 to 9 mph. In 2019, we had cloudy skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 36 degrees. The record low of 20 occurred back in 1974.

Tonight will have a Waxing Crescent πŸŒ’ Moon with 7% illuminated. The Blue 🌝 Moon is on Halloween πŸ¦‡ Saturday, October 31. After trick or treating and spread COVID-19 don’t forget to set your clocks back one hour πŸ•’ so you can sleep in one hour πŸŽƒ. The darkest hour is at 12:41 am, followed by dawn at 6:45 am, and sun starting to rise at 7:13 am in the east-southeast (103Β°) and last for 2 minutes and 59 seconds. Sunrise is one minute and 11 seconds later than yesterday. πŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 7:52 am with sun in the east-southeast (109Β°). Tonight will have 13 hours and 6 minutes of darkness, an increase of 2 minutes and 46 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will have a chance of showers, mainly after 3pm. Mostly cloudy 🌦, with a high of 60 degrees at 3pm. One degree above normal, which is similar to a typical day around October 16th. It looks like the weather will be better back home 🏑 and I can work down at the library most of the day. Another busy day ahead, I’m glad I won’t be trying to drive back 🚘 in the dark.

In four weeks on November 15 the sun will be setting in the west-southwest (245Β°) at 4:32 pm (Standard Time),πŸŒ„ which is one hour, 35 minutes and 25 seconds earlier then tonight. October 4, 2020 Night

Good evening! Moon lit fog and 47 degrees in Delmar, NY. 🌫 Calm wind. Another nice moon lit night for my evening walk 🚢🏻 πŸŒ– with temperatures starting to cool off a bit.

It was nice hiking up at Partridge Run πŸ¦† although while I saw some common field birds and a few Ruffled Grouse not a lot of wildlife but it may have been the time of day. 🐿 So many chipmunks but the woods is so full of rodents lately.

Had a really nice Sunday dinner with the folks 🍲 and brought home some leftovers for later in the week. I had to tap my brakes when I saw a deer 🦌 and it fell off the seat but it was fine. Also mom made a good apple 🍏 pie πŸ₯§.

Tonight will have patchy fog after 2am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy 🌫 with a low of 43 degrees at 4am. Typical for tonight. Calm wind. In 2019, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 34 degrees. The record low of 26 occurred back in 1965.

I decided to close the windows tonight, ⬛ because the past few mornings have been very cold for waking up. While I doubt I’ll turn the heat on for at least another month or so ♨ it’s cold enough at night now that I think πŸ€” I’ll be closing the windows before bed at least a few times a week.

Sunrise is one minute and 8 seconds later than yesterday. πŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 7:35 am with sun in the east-southeast (102Β°). Tonight will have 12 hours and 26 minutes of darkness, an increase of 2 minutes and 51 seconds over last night.

Should be a nice Monday to get down to work. πŸ’Ό Probably work down at the library parking lot πŸ…Ώ for a while and then out back. With the sun setting early not a lot of time to get down to the park 🏞 after work these days.

My boots πŸ‘’ are in rough shape so I need to order tomorrow replacements. Probably just the same type I have and get them online to ensure they have my size without having to make a special trip to the store 🏬 to buy them.

October 2, 2020 Night

Good evening! Mostly clear under the Harvest Moon and 48 degrees in Delmar, NY. πŸŒ• Calm wind. A bit cool sitting out back but the moonlight is nice and it won’t be long before the evenings are too cold to sit out back.

It’s been a busy and crazy week πŸ€ͺ with so many changes to the world and work that seems non stop, sometimes going into the wee hours of the morning. πŸ’€ Between retiring to bed early last night πŸ› and sleeping in on the dark rainy morning I did get well caught up on my sleep.

The whole thing about the president getting Coronavirus πŸ‘Ύ is both totally crazy and predictable. 😷 Nobody likes wearing a mask or having to social distance but it seems that it makes a big difference. Virus math is tough to beat. That said with the president’s advanced age and less than physically fit body πŸ’ͺ🏻 I can’t imagine he will survive it without serious health consequences.

I already really like my new blog theme πŸ“ which is probably one of the most minimalist themes I’ve ever used but I think it does a really nice job of displaying my photos πŸ“Έ and sharing my world. πŸ‘€ I like telling my story and then from time to time flipping on back. Fixed a few things in the mobile πŸ“± version but there is still more to fix.

Tonight will have patchy fog after 3am. Otherwise, partly cloudy πŸŒƒ, with a low of 41 degrees at 6am. Three degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around October 10th. Light northwest wind. In 2019, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 46 degrees. The record low of 29 occurred back in 1945.

Going to be another cool night but I like the fresh air πŸƒ so I think I’ll leave the windows open and snuggle under the cover. πŸ› Going to be sixty tomorrow and with the sun will be plenty warm.

Tonight will have a Full 🌝 Moon with 98% illuminated. At 10 PM, the moon was in the east-southeast (111Β°) at an altitude of 28Β° from the horizon, some 252,227 miles away from where you are looking up from the earth. πŸš€ At the state speed limit of 55 mph, you’ll make it there by April 12th. Sunrise is one minute and 6 seconds later than yesterday. πŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 7:32 am with sun in the east (101Β°). Tonight will have 12 hours and 20 minutes of darkness, an increase of 2 minutes and 52 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will have patchy fog before 8am. Otherwise, partly sunny 🌞, with a high of 60 degrees at 2pm. Five degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around October 15th. Maximum dew point of 47 at 10am. Light and variable wind. A year ago, we had light rain in the morning, which became light rain by afternoon. It was somewhat humid. The high last year was 52 degrees. The record high of 83 was set in 1967. There was a dusting of snow in 1974.❄

I need to get contact solution and butter πŸͺ so I probably need to go to the grocery store tomorrow. I might just also walk 🚢🏻 out to Five Rivers 🐦 and do some bird watching. Plus I want to trim my hair πŸ’ˆ with the cutting tools I have and take a shower 🚿 – the last time I bathed was Tuesday because I’ve been remote working and I don’t need to be really clean for Zoom although I have been shaving and washing my face.

I want to get out camping πŸ• and traveling again soon but it’s tough being so busy with work these days. I’m hoping to do one trip out to Madison County on a few weeks – although probably not Columbus Day Weekend β›΅ as I want to avoid the crowds. πŸ‘ͺ

In four weeks on October 30 the sun will be setting in the west-southwest (251Β°) at 5:50 pm,πŸŒ„ which is 44 minutes and 5 seconds earlier then tonight. An absolutely beautiful day. β˜€οΈLots of blue sky and bright colors on the trees all around. 🌲 I really managed to hit peak πŸ—» color in the Adirondacks. Got some rain last night which caught me by surprise 😲 but nothing got too wet and it was a brief storm. β˜” And the thing was it was fairly warm this morning so the damp and wet wasn’t a big deal. I didn’t even bother with hooking up the heater.

Good evening! Partly cloudy and 59 degrees in Speculator, NY. β›… There is a west breeze at 6 mph. πŸƒ. The dew point is 52 degrees.

It was a nice day but a busy one with work. πŸ’Ό The colors up in Speculator are pretty nice, πŸ‚ and it was nice working from the park and at the library. πŸ“š It was odd though that I ran into one of my neighbors up at Spectulator – he was actually working up at the library too. He apparently was up here on vacation too. With the Wi-Fi and cellphone it was as easy as working at home. πŸ“Ά That said, camping in the wilderness.

Nice mild evening πŸŒƒ. I can’t believe it’s nine o’clock but it’s still warm enough to be sitting outside wearing a t-shirt πŸ‘•. Nice fire πŸ”₯ for a while and now it’s burning down as the night progresses. It gets dark this time of year and the nights are long, with nearly more night than day. The eight hour nights have come and gone into a memory.

I am thinking about getting up fairly early and doing some bird watching 🐦 at Black Creek Marsh Wildlife Management Area in the morning. πŸŒ… I haven’t been there since spring and it’s nice. I was going to do that this morning and then last night but I didn’t get an early start.

Still dealing with really gross socks 🧦. I’m hopeful this time with soaking them they’ll get nice and clean. I will rinse them out come morning.

Got my new mask from Lynne Jackson. 😷 I will still wear the bandana when I’m out and about but when I’m working downtown it’s better to have something cooler and more comfortable.
