February 5, 2023 Morning

Good morning! Happy Sunday. Mostly cloudy and 28 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜ There is a south breeze at 14 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. The current wind chill is 17. There are 2 inches of snow on the ground. โ˜ƒ ๏ธThings will start to thaw out at around 11 am. ๐ŸŒก๏ธ

Still kind of cold โ„ this morning but I guess it’s an improvement from what it was yesterday. Still with that breeze it’s an improvement from what it was yesterday. I’ve turned down the heat, closed the cabinets under the sink and aren’t wearing a full face mask or gloves ๐Ÿงค for the morning walk ๐Ÿšถ which I delayed for a bit.

Today will be partly sunny ๐ŸŒž, with a high of 41 degrees at 3pm. Seven degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around March 3rd. South wind 10 to 14 mph. A year ago, we had light snow in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 38 degrees. The record high of 59 was set in 1890. 10.4 inches of snow fell back in 2014.โ„

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:10 pm with sun having an altitude of 31.4ยฐ from the due south horizon (-39.4ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 9.8 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 4:33 pm with the sun in the west-southwest (242ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-southwest (249ยฐ) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 5:14 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 6 seconds with dusk around 5:43 pm, which is one minute and 18 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the Waining Gibbous ๐ŸŒ– Moon in the east-northeast (69ยฐ) at an altitude of 6ยฐ from the horizon, 251,699 miles away. ๐Ÿš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 6:17 pm. At sunset, look for partly cloudy skies ๐ŸŒƒ and temperatures around 39 degrees. There will be a south breeze at 9 mph. Today will have 10 hours and 11 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 27 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฅ, with a low of 30 degrees at 5am. 14 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around March 27th. The record low of -20 occurred back in 1948.

Looking ahead, there are 5 weeks until Daylight Savings Time ๐ŸŒ† when the sun will be setting at 6:59 pm with dusk at 7:25 pm (Daylight Savings Time). On that day in 2022, we had partly sunny and temperatures between 60 and 30 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 44 degrees. We hit a record high of 69 back in 2012.

Tree on Recently Burnt Hillside

January 24, 2023 Morning

Good morning! Happy Tuesday. Rise and grind on this Tuesday. I don’t know but I think thr synchronousizer is a bit worn out on second gear. โš™ I woke up and was like darn still only Tuesday, let’s git r dun.

Mostly cloudy with some clearing to the south at the freezing point. ๐ŸŒฅ There is a light southwest breeze at 3 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. There are 7 inches of snow on the ground. โ˜ƒ ๏ธThings will start to thaw out at around 9 am. ๐ŸŒก๏ธ

Nice morning today especially to the south ๐ŸŒ…, with lots of red. I was actually out walking ๐Ÿšถ before 6:45 which is unusual for me on these dark mornings but it helped that I had the left over pancakes ๐Ÿฅž and sausage and coffee โ˜• from yesterday that I could just reheat. Fewer calories, time saved, and less trash – what’s not to like?

That said, I think I’m going to put a fruit bowl ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿ in my office so mid-morning if I’m hungry or feeling a bit light headed I can have a bit to eat. One of the reasons I’ve been doing the big breakfasts – besides availability and not wanting to waste ๐Ÿ—‘ – is sometimes I feel light headed by lunch time. I can always keep an extra container to bring home the banana ๐ŸŒ peels and apple rins for compost.

The communications line the came down yesterday ๐Ÿ“ž still hasn’t been repaired. I assumed it was a copper cable line abandoned by the telephone company but it looks like fiber as there is no wires in the cable. I bet there are unhappy customers but it doesn’t impact me as the police officer ๐Ÿ‘ฎ tossed it off the road and sidewalk. I’ve noticed most of the underground ๐Ÿš‡ copper phone repeaters locally have been smashed and grabbed for their copper. Apparently Verizon doesn’t use them or care any more and copper is valuable as scrap. I guess it’s recycling โ™ป.

Today will be mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฅ, with a high of 37 degrees at 3pm. Five degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around February 18th. West wind 7 to 14 mph. A year ago, we had sunny skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 20 degrees. The record high of 54 was set in 1999. 7.6 inches of snow fell back in 1948.โ„

Ironing my muzzle and shirt ๐Ÿ•ด๏ธshowering ๐Ÿšฟ and it’s off to work. Probably another busy day ahead.

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:08 pm with sun having an altitude of 28.1ยฐ from the due south horizon (-42.7ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 11.2 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 4:16 pm with the sun in the west-southwest (237ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-southwest (244ยฐ) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 4:58 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 14 seconds with dusk around 5:28 pm, which is one minute and 16 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the Waxing Crescent ๐ŸŒ’ Moon in the southwest (223ยฐ) at an altitude of 27ยฐ from the horizon, 229,352 miles away. ๐Ÿš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 6:03 pm. At sunset, look for mostly cloudy skies โ˜ and temperatures around 36 degrees. There will be a west breeze at 11 mph. Tomorrow will have 9 hours and 46 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 6 seconds over today.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฅ, with a low of 20 degrees at 6am. Five degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around February 23rd. West wind 5 to 9 mph becoming light north after midnight. In 2022, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 5 degrees. The record low of -12 occurred back in 1963.

Going to snow ๐ŸŒจ again tomorrow but only an inch or two, so whatever the buses ๐Ÿš will be running. Probably won’t last for long especially with rain and warmer conditions expected come Thursday. Should help clean up the sidewalks the rain, assuming it doesn’t freeze up to black ice. Hopefully the town will plow again today and lay down some salt.

Cloudy and mild for the weekend. ๐ŸŒฅ Saturday, mostly cloudy, with a high near 40. Sunday, cloudy, with a high near 37. Typical average high for the weekend is 33 degrees. I’m still undecided about the weekend though I need to decide today if I can want a personal day come Friday m

Looking ahead, there are 3 weeks until Valentines Day โค๏ธ when the sun will be setting at 5:27 pm with dusk at 5:54 pm. On that day in 2022, we had mostly cloudy, snow showers and temperatures between 28 and 15 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 36 degrees. We hit a record high of 63 back in 1946.

Thru the Trees

January 23, 2023 Morning

Good morning! Snow and 32 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ„ There is a north breeze at 9 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. There are 3 inches of snow on the ground. โ˜ƒ ๏ธThings will start to thaw out at around 9 am. ๐ŸŒก๏ธ

Out for the morning walk ๐Ÿšถ, the snow is quite wet and sloppy. Sticking to my boots it’s would seem. Sidewalks are plowed which helps. But it’s still pretty wet and slushy. There was a either a telephone or cable line that came down on Elm Avenue this morning, there was already a police officer directing traffic around it, ๐Ÿšจ but I stayed well away from it, just because you never know how much voltage it could have. If it’s a telephone wire, it could be as much as 90 volts when ringing, and I don’t know how much voltage is used for cable lines, or if they are all fiber optic at this point. I don’t own a TV or have internet at home, so I don’t know what’s up and down. Kind of sucks for people though who plan to work from home.

Today will snow before 2pm, then rain and snow likely. ๐ŸŒง High of 35 degrees at 2pm. Four degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around February 14th. Northwest wind 9 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible. A year ago, we had partly cloudy skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 24 degrees. The record high of 64 was set in 1906. 10.6 inches of snow fell back in 1963.โ„

Maybe it was mistake to leave my umbrella home. โ˜‚ I did plan on bringing it but I was already on my way down to the bus stop ๐Ÿš when I realized I didn’t pack it with my lunch. Not a big deal, but I am hoping the snow doesn’t turn to rain and it’s wet by evening. That said, it seems like it will be clearing as the day progresses. Another mild night ahead, which is good, because you know how much I love to pay for heat.

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:08 pm with sun having an altitude of 27.9° from the due south horizon (-42.9° vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 11.3 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 4:14 pm with the sun in the west-southwest (237°). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-southwest (244°) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 4:57 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 14 seconds with dusk around 5:27 pm, which is one minute and 16 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the Waxing Crescent ๐ŸŒ’ Moon in the southwest (230°) at an altitude of 16° from the horizon, 227,713 miles away. ๐Ÿš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 6:02 pm. At sunset, look for a chance of rain, ๐ŸŒง and temperatures around 35 degrees. There will be a northwest breeze at 11 mph. Tomorrow will have 9 hours and 44 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 3 seconds over today.

I’ve decided to continue on my journey through more-mindful eating, ๐Ÿฝ which means eating only when I’m hungry and not stuffing my face when I’m already full. Walking is great, but it doesn’t necessary translate to lost weight, nor does it save money. If I try to be more careful on how much I eat, then I can stretch food further, ๐ŸŽ put more away in the freezer to eat a later date. Might not add up to a lot ๐Ÿ’ฐ but with inflation, you really have to stretch every dollar as far as it can go. Plus less food consumed means less food packaging to burn or take to the transfer station, which is better for the environment. ๐ŸŒŽ Kind of a win-win for a better tomorrow. Little things, done over a decade, can really add up. Worse thing is that it seems like the veggies and fruit get eaten up before I’m ready to shop, but I can buy more.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฅ, with a low of 27 degrees at 11pm. 12 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around March 18th. Maximum wind chill around 20 at 10pm; Northwest wind 8 to 14 mph. In 2022, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 6 degrees. The record low of -17 occurred back in 1948.

Maybe my fears of having to walk home in the rain with an umbrella are overblown. ๐ŸŒง That’s good, as it should be good for walking tonight, assuming the sidewalks aren’t too icy. I don’t know how late I’ll get home tonight, but I don’t think it will be super late.

Another mild and cloudy weekend ahead. โ˜๏ธ Saturday, mostly cloudy, with a high near 38. Sunday, mostly cloudy, with a high near 34. Typical average high for the weekend is 33 degrees. I would like to get out of town this weekend for Friday into the weekend, but I want to give it one more day to decide what my plans are for sure, as if looks cloudy I might hold off. ๐ŸŒฒ๐ŸŒฒ But it would be fun for my 40th birthday.

Looking ahead, there are 2 weeks until Save the Pine Bush Turns 43 ๐Ÿฆ‹ when the sun will be setting at 5:16 pm with dusk at 5:44 pm. On that day in 2022, we had mostly sunny and temperatures between 36 and 12 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 34 degrees. We hit a record high of 55 back in 1991.

Frozen Lake

January 20, 2023 Evening

Good evening! Made it through another work week. Clouds and 36 degrees for the evening walk here in Delmar. โ˜๏ธ I was going to go down to the library but in the days of unlimited data on my phone and since the pandemic my habits have changed. I’d rather just do my walk ๐Ÿšถ and retire to bed ๐Ÿ› early.

Truth is I’ve been listening to the Byrds Turn, Turn, Turn a lot today. ๐ŸŽธ I’m a bit saddened by the death of David Crosby but so died Chris Hillman or was it Roger McGuinn not all that long ago? They were the past generation but still a good song more than half a century later. We need more change and new ideas. Mr. Crosby was a character, Crosby Stills and Nash had some good songs and in many ways those album covers are life goals.

Tonight will have a slight chance of rain and snow showers before 1am, then a slight chance of snow showers between 1am and 2am. Cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 28 degrees at 4am. 13 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around March 21st. Northwest wind 8 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. In 2022, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became light snow by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 14 degrees. The record low of -18 occurred back in 1994.

I don’t think it was a bad week ๐Ÿข with memories of Madison County and the trip the was. Days go by quickly with things so busy. I’m glad I’ve remained healthy with so many out sick. Masks help as do avoiding the crowds. ๐Ÿ‘ช After spending the weekend winter camping I truly did feel like a husky in the heat of the indoors. ๐Ÿถ

Tonight will have a New ๐ŸŒš Moon with 1% illuminated. The Snow โ„ Moon is on Sunday, February 5. The darkest hour is at 12:07 am, followed by dawn at 6:50 am, and sun starting to rise at 7:21 am in the east-southeast (117ยฐ) and last for 3 minutes and 16 seconds. Sunrise is 38 seconds earlier than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 8:04 am with sun in the southeast (125ยฐ). Tonight will have 14 hours and 22 minutes of darkness, a decrease of one minute and 54 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will be mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฅ, with a high of 35 degrees at 3pm. Three degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around February 9th. Northwest wind around 7 mph. A year ago, we had snow in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 31 degrees. The record high of 61 was set in 2006. 7.2 inches of snow fell back in 1990.โ„

Sounds like it will be a good day to hike out to Five Rivers. ๐Ÿฆ Maybe a bit sloppy but if I stay on the reinforced trails I think ๐Ÿค” I should be good. Nice thing is now is with the days getting longer I have more time in the afternoon and the Fisher Trail with the sidewalks avoids the narrow shoulders at dusk.

In four weeks on February 17 the sun will be setting in the west-southwest (255ยฐ) at 5:30 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 36 minutes and 17 seconds later then tonight. In 2021 on that day, we had partly sunny, snow showers and temperatures between 24 and 13 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 36 and 18 degrees. The record high of 60 degrees was set back in 1981.

Looking ahead, Clean Your Computer Day ๐Ÿงน is in 3 weeks, 5:30 PM Sunset ๐ŸŒ‡ is in 4 weeks, Presidents Day ๐Ÿ‘ด is a month away, St. Patrick’s Day ๐Ÿ€ is in 8 weeks, 7:30 PM Sunset ๐ŸŒ‡ is in 11 weeks, Cinco de Mayo ๐Ÿค  is in 15 weeks, Primary Day ๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ is in 5 months, National Nude Day ๐Ÿ‘ฑ is in 25 weeks, Ugly Truck Day ๐Ÿšš is in 6 months, Average High 70 ๐ŸŽ‘ is in 32 weeks, September ๐ŸŽ is in 32 weeks, Labor Day Weekend Begins ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿญ is in 32 weeks, Autumn ๐Ÿ‚ is in 35 weeks, Buy Nothing Day ๐Ÿ›๏ธ is in 44 weeks, December ๐ŸŽ„ is in 45 weeks, Bill of Rights Day ๐Ÿ“œ is in 47 weeks and Days are Getting Longer โ˜€๏ธ is in 48 weeks.

Ice Slope

January 20, 2023 Morning

Good morning on this rather sloppy Friday here in Delmar! ๐ŸŒง๏ธ Not a lot of snow or ice locally but a ton of slush. 33 degrees and rain.

Out for the morning walk and it’s pretty wet. โ˜” But it’s not pouring out and my boots ๐Ÿ‘ข are waterproof. Not at all icy locally. Sloppy though.

Looking at a high of 40 degrees around 2 pm with the rain tapering off as the day progresses. Some sleet and snow ๐ŸŒจ could mix in throughout the day but if anything it will just make more slop rather than freeze up with well a salted areas just wet.

I tell you, I am sure glad I’ve been wearing my muzzle. ๐Ÿ‘ฉ‍โš•๏ธEverybody lately has been getting sick around this place, but so far I’ve been good. I also try to be better at hand washing ๐Ÿ‘ and avoiding too many crowded places. Getting sick certainly doesn’t seem fun, especially how healthy I’ve been since the start of the pandemic. I don’t get why people don’t want to get vaccinated or stay healthy.

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:07 pm with sun having an altitude of 27.2° from the due south horizon (-43.6° vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 11.7 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 4:10 pm with the sun in the southwest (236°). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-southwest (243°) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 4:53 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 16 seconds with dusk around 5:23 pm, which is one minute and 14 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ The best time to look at the stars is after 5:59 pm. At sunset, look for skies and temperatures around degrees. There will be a calm wind. Today will have 9 hours and 36 minutes of daytime, an increase of one minute and 52 seconds over yesterday.

I wanted to take the express bus in this morning, ๐ŸšŒ but that was not to be due to me leaving my laptop at home. So I had to turn around and get my laptop and there wasn’t time to catch anything but the local to work. ๐Ÿš It got me there regardless. Not an electric bus this week. ๐Ÿ”Œ Probably for the best, it wouldn’t have been a pleasant walk down to the express bus today. Haven’t used the express bus much this week, because of the weather and session days.

Things will clear out ๐ŸŒƒ as the night progresses, and freeze will occur around six pm, which could really ice up the sidewalks and untreated surfaces. Looking at a low of 28 degrees by 5 AM, prior to daybreak then warming up to the mid-30s by Saturday with clearing skies.

Tomorrow I’m thinking of walking out to Five Rivers ๐Ÿธ probably in the afternoon but it depends on the weather. The trails might be sloppy after all of the rain and slush, though I could just walk out there to watch the birds ๐Ÿฆ and get my steps in via Mead’s Lane. ๐Ÿ‘ฃ Always a nice winter walk out that way.

Looking ahead, there are 3 weeks until Clean Your Computer Day ๐Ÿงน when the sun will be setting at 5:21 pm with dusk at 5:49 pm. On that day in 2022, we had partly cloudy, snow showers and temperatures between 25 and 12 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 35 degrees. We hit a record high of 53 back in 1955.

 Conclusion

January 11, 2023 Night

Good evening! Partly clear and 29 degrees in Delmar. ๐ŸŒƒ There is a southeast breeze at 6 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. Things will start to thaw out at tomorrow around 10 am.

Out for the evening walk ๐Ÿšถ after going to the laundromat. ๐Ÿ‘š It took a lot longer than I thought, I almost feel like I put in two much soap. I brought my laptop ๐Ÿ’ป but I was too fried after the day at work to do anything but scroll ๐Ÿ“œ through the YouTube and social media. And then I posted my thoughts about the gas stove ban silliness. But now is the time to take action climate change or it’s never going to happen. ๐ŸŒŽ

It’s just been really busy at work lately. ๐Ÿ’ผ Just a ton of rush projects and maybe I’ve been super aggressive at grabbing whatever is at the top of the que and making sure work gets done and done well. I thought December was busy but this month has proven even busier.

Tonight will be cloudy โ˜, with a low of 28 degrees at 8pm. 12 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around March 21st. Five degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around February 21st. Southeast wind 7 to 9 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 31 degrees. The record high of 67 was set in 2020. 12.8 inches of snow fell back in 2011.โ„

Sounds like an awesome day tomorrow. As long as I get my steps ๐Ÿ‘ฃ in what do I care I live in the city. It rains and snows and is generally sloppy in the city these days.๐ŸŒจ๏ธ Winter isn’t what it once was.

That said I’m excited about getting out of town this weekend. ๐ŸŒฒGoing to be cold but good weather Saturday for getting out of town. Need to check the oil on the truck but other than that it seems like it will be a good weekend.

In four weeks on February 8 the sun will be setting in the west-southwest (250ยฐ) at 5:19 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 35 minutes and 10 seconds later then tonight. I am digging the thought of summer in 23 weeks and the Potholers once again. โ›บ Or maybe just a weekend at the House Pond Campsite. Though I kind of wish for something new for a change but what it will be that I do not know. I’m just so tired of the ordinary.

Darkening Skies Thru the Woods

January 11, 2023 Morning

Good morning! What day is it? Hump Day, of course. As Macías once played during his Christmas Day rock and roll concert in the stadium, Those were the Days. Talk about pure evil in a rather hilarious way redefining a song.

Partly cloudy and 22 degrees in Delmar. โ›… Calm wind. What you might expect for a January morning but doesn’t feel really cold because it’s not and there is no wind. Things will start to thaw out at around 1 pm. ๐ŸŒก๏ธ

A pretty sunrise ๐ŸŒ… for the morning walk ๐Ÿšถ though I’m running a few minutes late so I’m walking briskly but it feels good. Got to get my steps ๐Ÿ‘ฃ in although so far this week I’ve successful at that. As I know to well if I fail my phone ๐Ÿ“ฑ will know and report it to me and I’ll be deemed an object failure who is obese and eats too much dairy. ๐Ÿฎ

Feeling better today, I think I was cold last night because it was a cold evening. โ„๏ธ I could turn up the heat, but once I was in bed under my heated blanket for a few minutes, I was plenty warm and left it for the balance of the night at the lowest setting. The heated blanket ๐Ÿ›Œ is still a lot cheaper then turning up the heat.

Today will have increasing clouds โ˜, with a high of 34 degrees at 3pm. One degree above normal, which is similar to a typical day around February 4th. Light and variable wind. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 17 degrees. The record high of 67 was set in 2020. 8.0 inches of snow fell back in 1922.โ„

Caught another two mouseys last night ๐Ÿ in the trap. Fished them out, wrapped in some paper and tossed them outside in with the rest of the burnables. ๐Ÿ”ฅ Works for me. So far I’m happy with the trap. It is doing it’s job, though I am not sure how many more mice there are to catch. I’ll dump out the water out back when it starts to stink. Trap: 3. Mousey: 0. Now I’ll have to patch that mouse hole again in the wall.

Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 12:04 pm with sun having an altitude of 25.6° from the due south horizon (-45.3° vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 12.5 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. Sun angle is finally starting to increase a notable amount. Another sign of the coming days. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 3:58 pm with the sun in the southwest (233°). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west-southwest (241°) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 4:43 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 20 seconds with dusk around 5:13 pm, which is one minute and 6 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ The best time to look at the stars is after 5:49 pm. At sunset, look for mostly cloudy skies โ˜ and temperatures around 34 degrees. There will be a calm wind. Tomorrow will have 9 hours and 22 minutes of daytime, an increase of one minute and 26 seconds over today.

After work I promise myself I will go to the laundromat. ๐Ÿ‘” I am running out of shirts to wear to work at this point. But it’s good as I know what I will need for the weekend and next week, and by washing my dress clothes they’ll be ready when I come home on Monday from camping.

Tonight will have a chance of snow, mainly after 3am. Cloudy ๐ŸŒจ, with a low of 28 degrees at 5am. 12 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around March 21st. Calm wind becoming south around 6 mph in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Little or no snow accumulation expected. In 2022, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 6 degrees. The record low of -26 occurred back in 1968.

A picture perfect weekend on tap. ๐Ÿ˜Ž Saturday, partly sunny, with a high near 33. Sunday, sunny, with a high near 36. Typical average high for the weekend is 33 degrees. I’ll take it. Figuring only a few days ago they were predicting super shitty. I’ll take it as NYE sucked this year. I think I have a nice plan, with some hiking and enjoying some starry nights for Kings Weekend planned out.

Looking ahead for y’all honey lovers, next Wednesday is Winnie the Pooh Day ๐Ÿฏ when the sun will be setting at 4:52 pm with dusk at 5:21 pm. On that day in 2022, we had partly cloudy, snow showers and temperatures between 34 and 22 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 32 degrees. We hit a record high of 59 back in 1973. I like honey especially on my pancakes ๐Ÿฅž.
