Good morning! Happy Indigenous Peoples Day. Or as powerful people in our state like to say, hertiage not hate. So Happy Columbus Day to them. I have no problem with celebrating multiple holidays on one day — heck we just had the Hunter and Harvest Moon on the same day — chopping silage and hunting are important, because both milk and vension are delicious.

I might also run over to Valatie to visit my mom and I might also go out and see my dad later on and cook him dinner. I’ll have to see what the weather is like as the day progresses.

I am kind of glad I’m not out camping today, because it’s a rather damp morning, athough last night was pretty nice. Certainly have woken to many rainy mornings in the wilderness, sitting next to a smokey campfire, drinking coffee out of a styrofoam cup. I highly doubt that any of those cups ended up in a landfill. Maybe I should have gone up to Adirondacks yesterday, but you never know when you would have gotten caught in a thunderstorm. Bennett Hill was a nice hike, although I wish I could have gone somewheres with more color. That said, with the warm dry weather, autumn has been retarded in West Viriginia, so there is little color there yet per the Applachian group I am a member of on the Facebook. That said, when peak color comes there, it won’t last for long.
