October 29, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Happy Thursday. Four weeks to Thanksgiving πŸ¦ƒ. Foggy and 40 degrees at the Bethlehem Central High School. 🌁 Out for my morning walk. 🚢🏻 Calm wind. Temperatures will drop below freezing at tomorrow around 6 am. β˜ƒοΈ

Out for my morning walk 🚢🏻. Foggy but I don’t think it’s that cold but I’m dressed in layers. 🧣 I think I will I work from home 🏑 today although I don’t mind the trip downtown 🚍, it kind of breaks up the day.

Today will rain, mainly after 11am. Patchy fog before 11am. 🌧 High of 44 degrees at 11am. 11 degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around November 24th. Calm wind becoming north around 6 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. A year ago, we had cloudy skies in the morning with more sun in the afternoon. The high last year was 64 degrees. The record high of 77 was set in 1946. 3.8 inches of snow fell back in 2011.❄

Solar noon 🌞 is at 12:40 pm with sun having an altitude of 33.7Β° from the due south horizon (-37.1Β° vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 9 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour πŸ… starts at 5:13 pm with the sun in the west-southwest (245Β°). πŸ“Έ The sunset is in the west-southwest (252Β°) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 5:53 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 2 seconds with dusk around 6:20 pm, which is one minute and 22 seconds earlier than yesterday. πŸŒ‡ At sunset, look for rain 🌧 and temperatures around 44 degrees. Doesn’t look like much snow 🌨 tonight. All rain here but the weather it’s hard to say what they’ll get in the mountains. I increasingly doubt I’ll head out of town this weekend but I could change my mind. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

Cold but sunny β˜€ for Halloween. πŸŽƒ Saturday, sunny, with a high near 44. Light and variable wind. Sunday, a chance of showers after 11am. Partly sunny, with a high near 55. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Typical average high for the weekend is 54 degrees.

Paid my $99 for the truck registration. 🚘 I am really tired 😴 of all the costs of motoring, so I’m increasingly thinking about getting rid of having a car come next year. I think bicycling 🚴 would be so much healthier if I can figure what is a reliable bike. I also have to get my inspection done next month.

I am thinking about now Voting on Election Day πŸ—³ or at least dropping off my absentee ballot there. It turns out that this year my polling place is right next door to my bus stop 🚍 and I usually end up going downtown on Tuesdays so that might be the best option for me.

Looking ahead, there are 4 weeks until Thanksgiving πŸ¦ƒ when the sun will be setting at 4:25 pm with dusk at 4:56 pm (Standard Time). On that day in 2019, we had partly sunny and temperatures between 58 and 34 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 44 degrees. We hit a record high of 67 back in 1979.
