October 21, 2016 Morning
Good morning! Talk about a wet start to our Friday.Β The rain has slacked off a bit, but still quite wet out thereΒ and 53 degrees in Cicero, NY. There is a north-northwest breeze at 8 mph. The dew point is 51 degrees. We have two more days of rain ahead of us, with at least 2 1/2 inches expected to fall on top of the 1 1/2 inches of rain we got last night. Very wet and cool next few days for sure. At least we won’t be getting the snow they are expected to get in the Adirondacks. And it will get nicer come Sunday, with skies clearing aroundΒ 7 am but very cold and blustery.
Today will have more rain. High near 56 at 12pm. Two degrees below normal. Maximum dew point of 52 at 1pm. North wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between three quarters and one inch possible. Lots of rain. The record high of 81 was set in 1979. The sun will set at 6:10 pm with dusk around 6:39 pm, which is 1 minutes and 33 seconds earlier than yesterday. Today will have 10 hours and 43 minutes of daylight, a decrease of 2 minutes and 48 seconds over yesterday.
Tonight will rain, especially after 8pm. Low around 42 at 6am. Four degrees above normal. Northwest wind around 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible. The record low of 20 occurred back in 1959.
On this day in 1967, nearly 100,000 people gather to protest the American war effort in Vietnam. More than 50,000 of the protesters marched to the Pentagon to ask for an end to the conflict. The protest was the most dramatic sign of waning U.S. support for President Lyndon Johnsonβs war in Vietnam. Polls taken in the summer of 1967 revealed that, for the first time, American support for the war had fallen below 50 percent.
There are 1 week until National Chocolate Day when the sun will be setting at 6:00 pm with dusk at 6:29 pm. That’s three days before Halloween. First 6 PM sunset in Syracuse. Then on week later is the end of Daylight Savings Times. The average high temperature is 55 degrees, with a record high of 78 in 1971.
There are 17 days, 12 hours and 8 minutes until the polls close in NY State on Election Day. Every minute is one minute closer to the long nightmare known as Election Day, comes to an end.
