More crazy wind this morning

There are few gusts and it was really roaring. Starting out this morning with temperatures in the mid-40s and the wind it was really cold in  my apartment as I slept with the windows open as it was in the 70s when I went to bed.

Yesterday was the family get together for Mom and Dad’s fiftith anniversary. I ended up driving there because of the constant threat of rain yesterday, and because I got absolutely soaked when I went out to Voorheeesville yesterday in the morning – on my way out to Black Creek Marsh which never happened due to the down pour, I had though of riding down to Coeymans for the event, but not after I got soaked.

Coeymans WMA was great to explore, though I was covered with ticks by the end and ended up taking a shower when I got home. Went to car wash and carefully hosed down under carriage. I am increasingly worried about the rot on the frame bar that holds the rear shocks, so I wanted to make sure that was as free of rust as possible. Big Red has been through 14 winters now, and realistically he’s going to have to be replaced probably this year if not next. It will be nicer to have an easier to drive, smaller truck.

I was going to go to Partridge Run today to ride and maybe hike, but with the wind whipping around I”m having second thoughts. Maybe I could do the Switz Kill Gorge though I more wanted to do that loop to the overlook deck and around up o the hill. But it’s going to be so cold and windy. Maybe I should just skip this plan for the weekend. If it warms up and gets sunny late, then maybe do a hike after Easter Dinner at Bennett Hill or somewhere else nearby.   I kind of wanted to get back out to the hilltowns, if only just for a drive.
