Miss riding the bus

I was thinking how much I miss riding the bus to work… 🚍

Its funny how things can change so quickly when you routine is shattered by things outside of your control. The bus always was a predictable thing, you had to be out there by a specific time and usually it was on time or close to it. Certainly in recent years it had gotten better.

Riding the bus always gave me a little quiet time to think and work on the blog. Riding the bus isn’t like driving, I don’t have to pay much attention until I reach my stop, I could play on my smartphone, blog, or just look out the window at the passing scenery or cityscape. It doesn’t require a lot of thought or effort but at same time, the time is allocated just for the bus ride.

I also miss the small talk at the bus stop and the riders I would see every day. Silly little conversations that are no more happening. Sometimes I’d overhear a fascinating conversation on the happenings of state government – rarely big things – but insights into the world around me. Maybe not real important but it just was part of the everyday, taken away by a virus that has shut down society.

I am sure such changes are temporary, the bus schedule restored and trips to work will be back once the virus has run its course.
