Memorial Day Weekend Gets Underway with Rain 💦

Just showers on and off ever since I arrived on Friday. Left work at 3:30 on Friday, drove up in the pouring rain but it had stopped by the time I arrived to set up camp. I was really happy to get the campsite I wanted up here.

Quiet day ahead, some reading 📖 and audio books 📚 and if the rain holds off maybe some hiking and riding. 🚲 Doesn’t seem like there is going to be a lot of rain but still hardly a banner day. ⛈️ Maybe head over to Looking Glass Pond if it clears out later. Drank way too much beer 🍻 and smoked too much weed last night but at least I don’t feel hung over. I tried to stay hydrated between the beers but I had to keep flipping my tail gate down during the night too pee. I didn’t appreciate one of the times the kids on the side by sides were at the lake as I really needed to pee.

Traffic was very heavy on the Thruway with Memorial Day 🚗 🚌🚐 🛻 but I made it here safely and got the tarps set up and cooked up some onions, spinach and bacon 🥓 and then smoked some grass and had what became a roaring fire 🔥 with the pallets I had gotten and split up yesterday. Smoked some grass and had some beer 🍻, put on an audio book called The Secret World of Groceries. Laid in the hammock and thenthenw got a rip roaring fire and sat by it unti 11 pm.

Wasn’t a bad night though I did not appreciate the local kids who came roaring back to Duck Pond on their four wheelers and side by sides at 3 am. 🏍️ They’re pretty loud at that hour but apparently they come back here a lot on the weekends. I was much too couch 🛋️ locked from the weed and beer I drunk at that hour but they seemed like some pretty cool dudes and those side by sides are sweet toys even though they are mad expensive. 💰 I’m sure this must be quite the hang out especially on Memorial Day Weekend.
