Good morning! 8 PM Sunset ๐. Three weeks to Memorial Day Weekend Starts ๐. I went to Walmart last night in hope of scoring a replacement globe for my broken propane lantern but that was not to be. I’m going to try to top at Walmart in Amsterdam on my way up to the Adirondacks.๐ Also need more limes for the beer and more lighters in case the one I have doesn’t work.ย Sure I can use just the electric ๐กbut I prefer to also have the propane as a backup should the low voltage relay kick in and because the lantern kicks out a ๐ฎlot of light but uses virtually no propane when hooked to the big tank.
I have firewood I bought in December should the woods be as wet and dark as I expect it to be Friday night. Where I plan to camp is good and dry and at this point I assume that the snow is totally gone – but I could see some patches around as the lakes are still frozen. Probably the fishing will be crap but who knows.๐ I did pick up some food which actually came out under $30. But then again I only bought a few things to stock up for meals, I really was hoping to get the globe.๐ฎ๐ณ
Gassed up the truck, checked the tire pressure and the fluids. ๐Everything seems good. Battery is good lights and inverter are working fine. Still want to mount the solar panel on the truck cap but I have to find time to do that. โกMaybe before the Memorial Day Weekend. Gear is loaded up, I tried to go through my check list, but I’m sure once I get up north I’ll discover I forgot something important. I look at this way — it’s a dry run for Memorial Day Weekend.
As previously noted, there are 3 weeks until Memorial Day Weekend Starts ๐ when the sun will be setting at 8:21 pm with dusk at 8:54 pm. On that day in 2017, we had rain, drizzle, mist, cloudy skies and temperatures between 62 and 54 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 72 degrees. We hit a record high of 94 back in 1981.
