May 29, 2019 Night

Good evening! Mostly cloudy and 62 degrees in Delmar, NY. ☁ Calm wind. The dew point is 56 degrees. The skies will clear tomorrow around 1 pm. It wasn’t a half bad night for the evening walk. More stars ✨ and less clouds would be nice but at least I was feeling good enough to do my quarter mile walk.

For the most part today I was feeling better, not as stiff and sore as Monday and Tuesday. πŸ’ͺ I mean I was never that bad – I walked down to library yesterday and today walked around the Capitol and LOB with no issues. But at times, especially when I got back to my truck after doing the Stratton Loop I struggled to climb into it. At least I’m a lot better off than those people on RadioLab this week dealing with the opiod problems.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy πŸŒ₯, with a low of 57 degrees at 5am. Five degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around June 15th. Maximum dew point of 56 at 9pm. Light south wind. In 2018, we had mostly clear skies. It got down to 60 degrees. The record low of 33 occurred back in 1967.

Tonight will have a Waning Crescent Moon 🌘 with 11% illuminated. The moon will rise at 3:34 am. The New Moon is on Sunday night. The Strawberry Moon 🌝 is on Sunday, June 16th. The sun will rise at 5:21 am with the first light at 4:47 am, which is 34 seconds earlier than yesterday. πŸŒ„ Tonight will have 8 hours and 56 minutes of darkness, a decrease of one minute and 24 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will be partly sunny 🌞, with a high of 75 degrees at 3pm. Two degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around June 3rd. Maximum dew point of 57 at 6pm. West wind 3 to 6 mph. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. It was somewhat humid. The high last year was 86 degrees. The record high of 92 was set in 1987.

I will pick my jackets up from the dry cleaning tomorrow. πŸ‘”Then I should be good for the rest of the legislative session. Probably then take the express bus in if I can get an early enough start. After work I may see if I can exchange the hammock, and get a battery box and battery πŸ”‹ for the truck. I’d like to get that hooked up early on Saturday so I can get out and enjoy the weather the rest of the weekend.

While keeping an eye on the sky for showers, the weekend is fairly decent for early June with minimal humidity. β˜€ Saturday, a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 75. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Maximum dew point of 56 at 3pm. Sunday, a chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 70. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Maximum dew point of 51 at 6am. Typical average high for the weekend is 74 degrees.

Still planning to stay in town this weekend with hope that if the following weekend is nice if I go up north, the black flies will be mostly gone. β›Ί Jessup River Road remains on my short list, maybe kayak the Kunjamunk Bay and fish on Sunday in two weeks. πŸ“± I just got to make sure that I have cell service regardless of where I go for work.

Scheduled my oil change for June 10th which will work for me πŸ‘as it’s not a session day so I csn drop it off and pick up after work. I’ll just walk down and catch the 1 or the 905 to work. It’s been a long time since my last oil change but I’ve been trying to drive a lot less now. I’m sure with summer being around the corner I’ll end up driving more.

In four weeks on June 26 the sun will be setting at 8:37 pm,πŸŒ„ which is 12 minutes and 59 seconds later then tonight. In 2018 on that day, we had partly sunny, patches of fog and temperatures between 80 and 48 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 81 and 59 degrees. The record high of 99 degrees was set back in 1952.

Looking ahead, 8:30 PM Sunset ️⛱️ is in 1 weeks, Last Day of Session πŸ› is in 3 weeks, Altamont Fair Opens 🎑 is in 11 weeks, State Fair Opens 🎑 is in 12 weeks, September 11th πŸ‡Έ is in 15 weeks, More Night then Day 🌌 is in 17 weeks and Inauguration Day 2021 πŸ‘΄πŸ» is in 86 weeks.
