March 29, 2020 Night
Good evening! Cloudy and 46 degrees in Delmar, NY. β There is a south-southeast breeze at 8 mph. π. The skies will clear Wednesday around 6 pm.
I hope you had a good weekend. β It was a dreary day but I found projects to pass the time. π I spent several hours researching and playing with QGIS. I spent a lot of time studying the Costco and Apartment development at Crossgates DEIS and I’ll start working on my comments this week. I’m technically inclined but I should at least put my opposition in the public record. π
I went for a short evening walk πΆ but turned around when I saw the thunder β‘ pushing closer. Sat out back for a while watching the thunderstorm roll by, came in when it started to rain and was looking through John Wolcott news clip archive, seeing what I could find for the Reszin IAdam’s documentary π, so far not much but some of those old news π° clips on Albany politics is hillarious. You think things are bad now, look back three or four decades.
I got my wash done πΏ . I don’t really mind the laundromat – and even if I have a place up in the woods eventually, I don’t mind running into town to do laundry along with other shopping chores. πͺ Usually when I do Sunday dinner at the folks house I do laundry but with quarantine, Sunday dinner is just a phone call π. I kind of miss Sunday dinner but alas it does free up time β and maybe is helping to slow the spread. πΎ
I had a nice tomato π soup with grilled cheese for lunch π and hot dogs and beans for dinner. I actually have so much good food from Aldi’s in my fridge I’m at a loss where to start. I’ve been kind of bored with the food I’ve been getting lately at Shop Rite and Walmart and I’m glad for a change. But at the same time I don’t want to spend a lot of time cooking.

In 2019, we had cloudy skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 42 degrees. The record low of 7 occurred back in 1970.
Tomorrow will have showers likely, mainly after 3pm. Mostly cloudy π¦, with a high of 49 degrees at 2pm. Two degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around March 27th. Southeast wind around 7 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. A year ago, we had light rain in the morning with a few breaks of sun the afternoon. The high last year was 71 degrees. The record high of 86 was set in 1986. 4 inches of snow fell back in 1911.β
Tomorrow hopefully I’ll be able to get that laptop working from work so I can work entirely from home and not go to the library or Five Rivers for internet. π» Although I might still want to head over there if I decide I want to do some personal stuff like on the blog.
I am still thinking π about heading out of town this weekend – maybe for three days depending on the weather. βΊ Just back country camping away from it all. The weekend forecast looks as of now to be mild and dry but only time will tell. Not a lot of sunshine but the perfect π weather weekend may be elusive for a while. Gas certainly is cheap these days. β½
Ever since I disabled mobile downloads in Google Play βΆ my daily data usage has decreased dramatically. Almost a 50% cut in data use today. That’s good, because when I’m working from home I’ll be using a lot more data on my phone and I don’t want to blow through the 25 gigabyte data cap and get throttled. π±
